Three Ohio State football players named to the 2025 preseason AP All-American teams
No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Penn State each had three players selected for the preseason AP All-America team. The Southeastern Conference had 12 players on the 27-man first team. We've seen our fair share of preseason hype and accolades for many members of the Ohio State football team as we get closer and closer to the start of the season, but we got a look at another one today when the Associated Press released its 2025 preseason All-Americans on Monday. It won't take you very long to guess two players who made the first-team -- being that the same two players have made every other preseason All-American team published and might be the two best players in the country. So, yeah -- safety Caleb Downs and receiver Jeremiah Smith are also listed on the AP All-American team. There is another Buckeye that made the AP All-American team, however, appearing on the second team, and that was none other than tight end Max Klare, who transferred from Purdue to raise his stock and look to be a part of a winning culture. He might end up being the best tight end in the game when it's all said and done after hauling in 51 receptions for 684 yards and four touchdowns for the Boilermakers last season. These three players, and many others, have racked up an awful lot of accolades for this year's version of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and we can't wait to kick the season off to see if the hype matches the actual on-field product when the seal is broken on the season come Aug. 30 vs. the Texas Longhorns.
