Broncos will honor Demaryius Thomas and Super Bowl 50 team vs. Giants
This season marks the 10th anniversary of the club's 2015 campaign that ended with a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Members of that squad will return to Empower Field at Mile High to be honored in Week 7 when the Broncos host the New York Giants on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Denver will hold its annual Alumni Weekend around that Giants game, and Thomas will be officially inducted into the Ring of Fame at halftime of the AFC vs. NFC showdown.
Thomas ranks No. 2 on the team's all-time receiving list for yards (9,055) and touchdowns (60), only trailing Rod Smith (11,389; 68). Thomas, who died of a seizure at age 33 in 2021, was a five-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro and Super Bowl champion. DT was one of the best players in franchise history, and he will now be immortalized among the team's all-time greats.

Hall of Famer Terrell Davis making a difference for kids on the golf course
Former Denver Broncos running back and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis was the headliner at Bank of America's "Golf With Us" event on Monday in Ken Caryl, Colorado. "I'm a golfing fanatic," Davis told Broncos Wire. "I love to be able to give back to kids and do events like this. You know they have this event where Bank of America they're partnering with Golf With Us, and it's an initiative which is designed to make golf more accessible for kids throughout this country." One of the benefits from this event is for youth to learn life lessons -- even some life lessons that Davis learned on the gridiron. "A lot of stuff I learned on a football field, I apply in golf, which is really resiliency, man, because this game will test you," said Davis with a chuckle. "You gotta be able to bounce back; you gotta be able to kind of plan things out and then control what you can control. I kind of had that same mentality when I played in the league and it's kind of funny how the same things to apply in golf and not only golf, but in life." For Davis, this event was about providing access to a sport he loves, something that Davis didn't have growing up. "I think the biggest thing (with this event) is just access; growing up in the community that I grew up in, we didn't have access to a lot of things and you sort of have a mindset where it's not -- if you don't have a growth mindset, you don't have access to things that aren't in your daily life," said Davis. "No matter what I do, I try to expose my kids to places that they've never been to, events that they've never seen, sports they've never played. And then, obviously you know whether it's restaurants or golf courses, whatever it is. "I just feel like it makes you not only more well-rounded, but it gives you a bigger plan in terms of your ideas and seeing in life in a different way. For a lot of these kids, this will be the first time that they've ever golfed and probably didn't understand golf, what the golf courses were, probably don't understand how fun golf is. It's a sport for life. Anytime, no matter what age you are, what kind of handicap you have on the golf course, anybody can play." Buccaneers lose All-Pro defender in PFF's 2020 NFL re-draft
The NFL Draft remains the second-biggest event in the NFL calendar behind the Super Bowl. Like it or not, it remains one of the biggest things fans and media enjoy revisiting to see "what could have been." Pro Football Focus has done a good job this offseason by starting a re-draft series that we have been tracking here on Bucs Wire. In their latest draft, they looked back on, it just so happens to be one of the more impactful ones in recent memory for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise: The 2020 NFL Draft. The Bucs capitalized on the NFL's oversight of a Big Ten playmaking safety, making him their own. They selected Antoine Winfield Jr. with the 45th overall pick, but in this re-draft, he does not last that long. He doesn't even make it to the Bucs' original first-round pick as PFF's Trevor Sikkema has the Browns drafting Winfield Jr. 10th overall. Sikkema writes, "Winfield has been one of the premier safeties in the NFL for the majority of his career. From 2021 to 2023, he was the highest-graded safety in the league. He is the rare player who can affect games in coverage, as a run defender and as a pass rusher. He should be able to bounce back from a career-worst season in 2024." Much like Wirfs, the playmaking of Winfield Jr. helped the Bucs secure their Super Bowl victory that season. The fit he was able to throw towards both Pat Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, which resulted in one of the greatest defensive showings in Super Bowl history.
