Tadej Pogačar crashes at Stage 11 of 2025 Tour de France
He was able to edge out Mauro Schmid of Jayco AlUla at the finish line.
The two were ahead of Mathieu Van Der Poel, who didn't have enough to catch the two leaders (Abrahamsen and Schmid), finishing about seven seconds behind.
For a moment, the story of the day wasn't Abrahamsen's first career stage win; it was a shocking crash that took place with just a few kilometers to go.
Tadej Pogačar crashes at Tour de France Stage 11
With around 4km left in the stage, Tadej Pogačar was clipped by a passing rider, creating a single rider crash.
Luckily, Pogačar avoided hitting his head and was able to get back on his feet fairly quickly.
This could have been a more serious situation if the crash had played out differently.
Pogačar could have lost time on competitors Jonas Vingegaard and current yellow jersey holder Ben Healey (general classification leader), but great sportsmanship was shown, as they waited for Pogačar to catch up with the group.
Ireland's Ben Healy holds a 29-second lead over Pogačar heading into stage 12 tomorrow.

Solberg secures first WRC win in Estonia
Sweden's Oliver Solberg followed in his world champion father's footsteps as he claimed his first WRC victory in the Rally of Estonia on Sunday. The 23-year-old is the son of 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg and was making his first appearance in the elite class since 2022. Solberg made the most of the opportunity handed to him by Toyota, who gave him the chance to drive one of their cars for this rally in the absence of eight-time world champion Sebastien Ogier. The Swede charged into the lead on Friday and never relinquished it on the high-speed gravel roads. He finished 25.2 seconds ahead of home favourite and 2019 world champion Ott Tanak. Reigning champion Thierry Neuville of Belgium came in third place. "After everything, so many years trying and trying and trying and dreaming, and me and (co-driver) Elliott (Edmondson) finally made it," said Solberg. "I just want to say thank you to Toyota, to the test team who helped me get so comfortable, for all the help this weekend from this beautiful, beautiful team. I've never had such a good time in my life." Tanak replaced Elfyn Evans at the top of the WRC standings, moving a point clear of the Welsh driver who ended the weekend in sixth place. jld/mw/ea

Atletico Madrid eye £34m Chelsea transfer
Atlético Madrid have made contact with Renato Veiga's representatives as the club eye a move for the Chelsea defender. Veiga has returned to Chelsea after spending the second half of last season on loan at Juventus. The Portugal international joined Chelsea from FC Basel last summer but was unable to break into Enzo Maresca's plans. Amid a desire for more minutes, in his preferred centre-back position, Veiga left on loan in January. He made 15 appearances for the Italian side in all competitions but no option to extend his time in Turin was triggered. The defender is now exploring a permanent exit and Atletico Madrid are keen to strike a deal. Fabrizio Romano has reported that talks between Veiga's camp and Atletico have taken place, with the 22-year-old open to the move to the Spanish side. He is keen to secure regular football to boost his chances of making the Portugal squad for next summer's World Cup, having helped his nation to Nations League success this summer. Chelsea have set a price tag of €40m (£34.6m) for Veiga, having acquired the centre-back for just €14m (£12.1m) 12 months ago. Read – See more – Follow The Football Faithful on Social Media: | | | |

Manchester United hold talks with Nicolas Jackson's agents
Manchester United have opened discussions with the representatives of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, according to BBC Sport. Jackson moved to Stamford Bridge from Villarreal two seasons ago and has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions for the Blues. However, his future has been thrown into doubt following Chelsea's summer acquisitions of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, both of whom have quickly moved ahead in the pecking order. Chelsea maintain they are not desperate to sell Jackson and would only consider a transfer if a suitable offer is presented. After a relatively quiet window, with only Matheus Cunha arriving so far, United's quest for a striker has moved up the agenda. Initial focus had been on completing the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but with that deal approaching its conclusion, the United hierarchy will now turn their focus to securing an additional forward. United are not alone in pursuing Jackson, as Aston Villa and AC Milan have also shown strong interest. However, valuations between Chelsea and other suitors remain some distance apart. Internal discussions at Old Trafford over a move for Jackson remain in the early stages as United weigh up the 24-year-old against alternative targets. The club's decision may hinge on sales and budget availability in the coming weeks United have already agreed deals to part ways with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, albeit only temporarily with the former. The Red Devils are still hoping to sanction a sale for Alejandro Garnacho, who Chelsea has long admired, and it remains to be seen if the Blues would consider a swap deal of any sort.
