Kevin Durant opens up on the Brooklyn Nets' struggles and why the team failed to reach its full potential
Kevin Durant is now speaking out on why his time with the
Brooklyn Nets
didn't work out as he envisioned. In the recent podcast episode of Mind the Game, the NBA star offered candid insights into the issues that prevented the team from performing at its best.
'I have just signed that deal. You had just signed a deal, but I feel like we were secure, but everything else around us was going in. Not in a bad way. We got GM's going to other teams. We got coaches going to other teams. We got players forcing trades…'
He continued:
'We got bringing best Simmons. He's back. It was just so much stuff going on. Around us, I feel like we were locked in on the same page, and we were trying to do something special here. I felt like your hands were tied a lot, because as a coach you got to deal with so much. I didn't think we didn't get the full steel knife. I wanted it…'
He then added:
'I just felt like it was too many distractions in a way. You know, you can't win that way. But I felt like we had great intentions. I felt like we cared enough. I felt like every day we were trying to push towards winning the champ…. That first year. Most fun ball I had. Some of the most fun ball I had planned in my whole life. [But] I feel like we were committed only where everybody else wasn't…'

Edmonton Oilers 2025-26 roster changes: Can players like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl lead a final breakthrough?

Oilers count on balanced forward lines and familiar defense in 2025-26 NHL season (Image via: Getty Images) After falling short in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals, the Edmonton Oilers are heading into the 2025-26 NHL season with one goal in mind—finishing what they started. Coach Kris Knoblauch made it clear after the loss to Florida that the team can't keep doing the same things and expect different results. This season, changes are happening. Edmonton Oilers 2025-26 roster: What's new and what's not Following another tough Finals loss to the Panthers, Coach Knoblauch promised a fresh approach: 'There will be changes to our system. We will be doing things a little bit differently.' That started with the forward group, which now features new names and a few surprise moves. The projected 2025-26 Oilers lineup includes star regulars like Connor McDavid , Leon Draisaitl , Zach Hyman, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Alongside them, new additions Andrew Mangiapane and Isaac Howard have been brought in to add fresh energy. Mangiapane, who recorded 28 points last season with Washington, will be expected to play a larger role. Isaac Howard, acquired in the Sam O'Reilly trade. Edmonton Oilers count on forward depth and stable defense for 2025-26 season Other forward names include Trent Frederic, Vasily Podkolzin, Adam Henrique, Matt Savoie, Mattias Janmark, and Kasperi Kapanen. With a mix of veterans and younger players, the team hopes to find better chemistry up front. The defense group remains mostly unchanged: Mattias Ekholm, Evan Bouchard, Darnell Nurse, Brett Kulak, Jake Walman, and TY Emberson return to the blue line. In goal, Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are expected to split duties again. FAQs Who are the new additions to the Edmonton Oilers for the 2025-26 season? The Oilers added Andrew Mangiapane and Isaac Howard to their forward group for more scoring depth and versatility. What is the Edmonton Oilers' projected lineup for 2025-26? The projected lineup includes stars like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, along with new faces Mangiapane and Howard. Did the Oilers change their defensive lineup or goalies? No major changes were made to the defense or goaltending, with Ekholm, Bouchard, Skinner, and Pickard all returning. Edmonton Oilers focus on forward depth and defensive stability Despite the additions, fan response has been lukewarm. Many believe the Oilers need more than just minor upgrades to win a Cup. The trade that sent O'Reilly away in exchange for Howard is still being debated across forums and social media. Some supporters feel the team missed a chance to go after a stronger top-six winger or a more reliable goalie. IND vs ENG: Team India arrives in Manchester via train, takes last moment U-turn and walks 300m in rain

Image credit: Sahil Malhotra/ in Manchester: The Indian cricket team arrived in Manchester via train this afternoon and was greeted by a steady drizzle. The team, however, took a last-minute U-turn and didn't take the planned route of exiting the platform where the train had arrived. They instead snuck out from a back door, and the players were made to walk 300m, mostly in the rain, to board the team bus. Captain Shubman Gill was spotted with the team as others rushed into the bus because of the rain. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! India stayed back in London after the heartbreak at Lord's and even had a training session in Beckenham. Every player except KL Rahul was in attendance, and while the likes of Rishabh Pant , Akash Deep, and Mohammed Siraj took it easy, the rest operated at full intensity. There was a cause for concern as Arshdeep Singh, who is yet to play a game, injured his bowling hand. The side will now begin preparations at the Old Trafford Ground in Manchester with sessions tomorrow, the day after, and on the eve of the match. Why Team India came to Manchester from London via train and walked in rain The first session will be behind closed doors without any access to the media, just like it happened for two sessions in Birmingham, and doors will be opened for the morning session on July 21 and the afternoon hit on July 22. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play this game for 1 minute and see why everyone is addicted. Undo The Indian team will find the city very pleasant compared to London as it is much cooler and there has been consistent drizzle for the last few days. Even the match days have forecasts of rain, but it hasn't been threatening so far. An odd spell of light showers here and there shouldn't really be a cause for major concern. The weather, however, can play funny tricks in England, and Manchester is unlikely to be any different in the coming week. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!
