
Monsoon to gain pace from tomorrow: IMD
India Meteorological Department
(IMD) has forecast isolated light rainfall in parts of the northern districts of the state on Saturday.
An alert of thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning activity, has been issued by the IMD for all the districts on Sunday. Heavy rain alert has also been issued for Kishanganj and Araria. Scattered rainfall is likely to occur in the northern and eastern districts of the state, whereas the southern districts are expected to receive isolated rainfall on Sunday.
Maximum temperatures in most parts of the state are likely to rise by one to three degrees Celsius in the next two days, and fall thereafter. The minimum temperature is also likely to increase by one to three degrees Celsius within the next three to four days. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 34-36 degrees Celsius across the state for the next two days, whereas the minimum temperature is likely to range between 26-28 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, considering the rising water levels in the Falgu and Dhadha and Ganga rivers, the district administration has hired a total of 245 boatmen on a contractual basis to ensure the availability of local support for rescue and relief operations in case of an emergency.
Additionally, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at Gai Ghat, Patna City and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Didarganj has been deployed and sent to the areas concerned for relief and rescue operations as per necessity.

Gurgaon: After seeing sporadic showers over the past couple of days, the city is likely to witness a surge in rainfall activity over the coming days, with heavy rainfall expected in parts of the state early next week. The overall monsoon in 2023, however, was stronger, recording 217.2mm of rainfall—a surplus of 24% from the normal. In 2022, July saw 208.4mm of rain, which was a surplus of 19%. With more rain on the horizon, the monsoon tally for this month is likely to increase further. Meanwhile, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, marginally higher than the previous day's 25.7 degrees Celsius. With a clear sky, the daytime temperature soared to 32.5 degrees Celsius, up from 31.4 degrees Celsius on Friday.

IMD predicts rain with thunderstorms in Delhi on Sunday
New Delhi, Jul 19 (PTI) The India Meteorological Department has predicted drizzles or rain with thunderstorms in the national capital on Sunday, an official said. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 0.9 notch below the season's average, according to the IMD. The minimum temperature hovered around 25.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal. The relative humidity was recorded at 83 per cent at 5.30 pm. Delhi's air quality was recorded in the 'satisfactory" category at 6 pm, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 56, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed. According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'. Day temp shoots above 30 as rain takes weekend break, revival likely this week
Bhopal: Rainfall activity reduced in Bhopal as well as in other parts of the state on Saturday. The reduced rainfall led to a rise in day temperature, which was above 31 degrees in the city. The possibility of heavy showers was not strong for the next few days. The meteorological department stated that the monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through the centre of depression over north-west and adjoining areas of north-east Rajasthan, Fatehgarh, Muzaffarpur, Bankura, Contai, and thence east south-eastwards to north-east Bay of Bengal. The western disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric levels with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along longitude 70° east to the north of latitude 32°N persists, the meteorological department stated. The day temperature in Bhopal on Saturday was recorded at 31.4 degrees Celsius, a degree more than the normal mark, while the night temperature was 23.4 degrees, a degree less than the normal mark. In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday, the meteorological department stated there would be a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundering development and light rain in the evening and night hours. Day and night temperatures would be 32 and 25 degrees respectively, while the average wind speed will be 16 kilometres per hour.
