Mama sea creatures swim in unison with babies off CA. See ‘captivating sight'
'Cuteness alert!' Passengers off the coast of California got the chance to spot mama sea creatures swimming in unison with their babies, boaters said. The day began with a pod of common dolphins being spotted along with 'tiny dark-colored newborn calves and others slightly more mature showing their lighter coloration,' according to an Aug. 20 Facebook post by the Dana Wharf Whale Watch. The nursery pod kept 'weaving back and forth' throughout their hunt, leaving baitfish jumping out of the water, passengers said. The 'captivating sight' continued with additional pods being spotted later in the day, passengers said. The day wrapped up with a squabble between sea lions over their 'favorite rock,' entertaining boaters with all the splashing and rolling, passengers said. Facebook users ran to the comments to share their thoughts on the 'very beautiful' dolphins with one person saying, 'Awesome.' 'Awww cute,' another wrote. Dana Point is about a 60-mile drive southwest from downtown Los Angeles.
