Dune Awakening patch fixes item duping glitch, hopefully for the last time
A fresh hotfix has been rolled out in Dune Awakening, targeting an exploit that enabled players to clone their most precious items.
Dune Awakening has been offering gamers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Arrakeen fantasy, even if they won't become the Kwisatz Haderach. Dune's foray into survival gameplay is allowing players to construct their own buildings and carve out a life on Arrakis.
PC gamers seem to be drawn to survival games, with the Prologue Go Wayback July playtest grabbing many people's attention and the Steam SimFest discounts providing an easier than ever opportunity to dive into Bohemian England in Manor Lords.
However, Dune is a completely different kettle of fish, as Arrakis doesn't exactly follow the rules we're accustomed to, with sandworms and hostile forces constantly posing a threat. Despite the seemingly impossible task of surviving in the sands, players are finding ways to make it work, primarily through glitches.
It appears that Dune Awakening players have discovered a method to duplicate their most valuable items at the Exchange, effectively turning the game's currencies and item rarities into putty in their hands. This isn't ideal for the game's developers, so they've swiftly implemented a significant fix before players could respond.
Here's all you need to know about the latest Dune Awakening hotfix.

Dune Awakening dupes dupers
Funcom has announced that its recent downtime has resulted in the implementation of a new hotfix, which has removed an exploit from the game that allowed players to duplicate their items at the Exchange. This, along with other changes, will make the game more stable.
According to the Dune Awakening website, here's everything that was included in the hotfix:
Improved server and client stability.
Fixed an additional instance of the issue where players were sometimes unable to travel from Arrakeen and Harko Village to the Overland Map.
Fixed an edge case issue where inventory items could get missing after travelling between the maps.
Fixed an issue with invisible inventory items when the player moved the items between inventories and quickly swapped their positions in the target inventory.
Fixed a vulnerability that allowed item duplication at the Exchange, while trading or in inventories. Visually, you may see duplicated items on your game client, but they don't exist.
Fixed an issue where players were unable to connect to the game, receiving the H74 error code message.
This is certainly good news for the game's structure, but it's likely that some players will be disappointed that the exploit that made them king of the dune, particularly as this system of replicating items, has become a significant part of the game. It might be time to go out and actually earn your resources. Sorry about that.

Former wrestling star Marcus 'Buff' Bagwell opens up about decision to get leg amputated
World Championship Wrestling alum Marcus 'Buff' Bagwell is opening up about his decision to amputate his leg after 'five years of torture.' In a candid YouTube vide o shared Friday, Bagwell explained that he's spent five years attempting to save his right leg after injuring his kneecap in a 2020 car crash. Now, he's made the decision to undergo an above-the-knee amputation. Sitting beside his fiancée, Stacy Brown, Bagwell shared how he was feeling just 12 hours before being admitted to the hospital for the operation. 'When I look down and see that I'm getting ready to amputate my leg, no more do I start getting depressed about it even for a second,' he said at the beginning of the clip. 'Instantly, I get overwhelmed with joy because of the last three years of my life.' Why did Bagwell get his leg amputated? Bagwell's decision to amputate his right leg came after he suffered an infection from another procedure on his injured knee following his 2020 car crash. He said he was given the choice between a '20% chance' of saving the leg through several surgeries, physical therapy and inserting a steel rod, or amputation. Ultimately he chose to amputate the leg, expressing that he is 'really hoping this will bring a new chance at life.' Bagwell reminisced on his his five-year healing journey since the car crash, where his vehicle ran into a shopping mall, causing a brick wall to collapse. He said the incident should have led him to '100% either been dead or been in prison.' After the incident, the wrestler said he was in the hospital for 'weeks' at a time and had over 20 procedures. During that time, Bagwell said he entered the 'deepest, darkest addiction I've ever been in.' 'I was constantly drinking. It was crazy. It's just the worst,' he recalled, adding that he 'kept falling' and re-injuring his leg. Bagwell continued: 'My leg wasn't healing and so I just was super depressed, and I did everything you hear. I isolated. I was still trying to work, but, I mean, I'd go to the gym on a walker.' 'All I know in my life is you fight to get better, you fight. Well, on this one I wasn't able to fix the problem for the first time.' The wrestler explained that he was 'so angry at what happened, that instead of 'continuing to go into my addiction and drinking, I got sober.' Bagwell said in August 2022, he went to rehab. Next month, on Aug. 27, Bagwell said marks his third year sober. 'I've been able to put together three of the best years of my life by putting in this order: God, Stacy and myself,' he said. 'I've been able to put together three years together of sobriety and three of the best, happiest, closest to God, best relationship — best personal — I've felt, together.' Will Bagwell return to pro wrestling? Fellow professional wrestler Maven Huffman documented Bagwell's experience in the hospital before and after the amputation surgery in a video shared Friday. In the clip, a voiceover seemingly of Bagwell discusses his post-recovery plans, addressing whether he anticipates a return to pro wrestling. 'I'm going to be able to run and I'm going to be able to run better,' he said. 'I want to get back in the ring, hit the ropes, have a match. It'll show some that I've came out of the darkness with this thing, and I've turned it around all the way to being back in the ring as Buff Bagwell.' As of Saturday, Bagwell hasn't publicly shared an update on his health. However, he has been active on his Instagram account, re-sharing well wishes and images of himself posted by other users onto his Instagram stories. At the end of Bagwell's YouTube video, the wrestler also teased an upcoming video, which seems to follow him through the day he underwent the amputation. In that video, Bagwell called the entire experience a 'weird dynamic.' Reframing his perception of the incident, he said, 'What cost me my leg got me sobriety.' Prior to the surgery, Bagwell said he expected the procedure will help him get 'in the best shape in 20 years.' 'I'll be able to do cardio. I'll be able to eat at restaurants with my leg under the table. I'll be able to go to movies and church with my leg being out of the aisle,' he said. Bagwell's mindset going into the operation was 'everything happens for a reason,' he said. 'I'm not depressed I didn't [amputate] two years ago. I fought the fight.' 'It's hard to take away five years of torture and to know that that torture is going to be cut off and I've got some hope that's going to be put on my leg, called a prosthetic," he said. "I'm trying to be excited about it. I think it's going to be a wonderful thing.'

WWE legend forced to have leg amputated after car crash in harrowing health update – ‘this is hard'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WCW legend Buff Bagwell had his leg amputated five years after a horror car crash from which he struggled to recover. Bagwell, 55, stood out during the late 1990s and early 2000s when pro wrestling fans enjoyed the infamous Monday Night Wars between WCW and eventual winners WWE. 2 WCW legend Buff Bagwell had his leg amputated five years after a horror car crash Credit: YouTube / Maven Huffman 2 Bagwell stood out during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990s and early 2000s The Georgia native hadn't wrestled at top level since 2001 when his brief stint with Vince McMahon's promotion was ended just four months into his tenure. The former nWo member would then make sporadic appearances for the likes of TNA and the independent circuit, with his latest performance taking place in November 2024. That was four years after a shock crash that damaged his right leg so badly he found himself in a long and hard battle not to lose it. Despite multiple procedures and years of rehabilitation, however, Bagwell's friend Steve Stasiak announced on social media his leg had to be amputated above the knee following complications. Stasiak posted on Facebook: "Yesterday morning, Marcus Bagwell—Buff Bagwell—had his leg amputated above the knee. "I've known Buff a long time. I've seen him in the spotlight, I've seen him behind the scenes, and I've seen him fight through things most people never even hear about. "This one… this is hard. For him. For everyone who knows and loves him. "The injuries from his 2020 accident never fully healed. He gave it everything he had to avoid this outcome—but that fight led him here. And now begins a whole new kind of battle. "Buff was one of the brightest stars of a wild era in wrestling. He made you look. He made you care. But it's who he is as a person—past the lights, past the persona—that I hope people think about today. "If you're reading this, I just ask that you send a little love out into the world for Buff. No grand gestures. Just something real. A thought, a prayer, a moment." WWE legend John Cena's Wimbledon interview goes viral as fans say 'I need this level of confidence' And a number of WWE fans responded to Stasiak's call by sharing their love and support following the tragic news. One posted: "God will never send a test that you can't handle." Another commented: "Keep fighting, you got this." A third wrote: "Sending love and prayers." This fan said: "Sending love and positive thoughts and vibes his way." And that one stated: "I love you brother, Never give in, Never Give up." 'I am gone' Bagwell previously opened up about the accident, which occurred after he consumed alcohol and seemingly blacked out on the wheel. The Stuff stated no one else got hurt and shared all the details about the awful ordeal he went through following the crash. The former heavyweight lifted the lid on his battle with alcohol addiction the preceded the crash and how he managed to gain sobriety as well as a newfound love for God. Bagwell recently said: "I was heading home [from his father's house] and I had just had surgery, ironically this foot had pins in it and I had got this knee scoped for a minor meniscus tear. 'It was like a dream' "I had been drinking, just a few beers but whatever happened, I'm going down the road with a diet coke and I am gone. I am gone. But you don't realize you are gone. "It was like a dream. I remember hitting cars, seeing faces look at me. I got off at the wrong exit and somehow, I drove through a men's and women's bathroom. "The wreck runied my kneecap. From there, that started this whole journey, trying to fix my leg. "At one stage, I was in the hospital for seven weeks and every three days, I had a surgery. It just wouldn't get better. "I was so angry at what happened. I didn't think I could get sober but August of 2022 I went to rehab. August 2025, 27th, I will be three years sober. "The last three years of my life, I get overwhelmed with joy. I have been able to put together three of the best years of my life by putting God, Stacey [his fiancee] and myself in that order.

'Impressive' dash cam with 'sharp image and wide-angle view' now £45 off on Amazon
"This dash cam is impressive, with both front and rear coverage. The video quality is sharp and the wide-angle view captures everything you need." No matter how good of a driver you may be, it's impossible to control other people's actions on the road. That's why it's important to invest in a dash cam, so there's always proof of what happened should you suffer any unforeseen incidents in the car. Luckily for safety-conscious drivers, a top-rated dash cam has seen a significant reduction on Amazon. Usually retailing at a steep £99.99, the cam is currently on a generous offer of 45 per cent off, now costing just £55.01. This advanced D600 4K dash cam simultaneously captures the road in detail with a front resolution of 4K and rear resolution of 1080P. Complete with a 170° wide-angle lens and night vision, clear footage can be captured even in low-light situations to ensure every angle is covered and nothing is missed. Like many doorbell cams and dash cams, the product comes with an app. The "GKU GO" app for Android or iOS smartphones allows users to live stream, download videos, adjust settings, edit, and share footage effortlessly. With a simple tap, drivers can share snippets of any journey on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, or other social media platforms. Its product description claims the product is the 'perfect dashcam for cars, truck, SUV' making it easier to provide evidence when making an insurance claim. When the SD card is full, new recordings will overwrite the oldest ones automatically. Triggered by G-sensor, the dashcam front and rear camera will automatically detect sudden vibration or shocks, and will lock the video without being overwritten. The car dash cam automatically switches to parking mode when the vehicle is parked, ensuring constant surveillance for anything that could occur while the owner is away. Those browsing alternative car dash cams may opt for the Nextbase 222X Front and Rear Dash Cam Bundle for a pricier £109.99. Or for those on a budget, the Binatone FHD200 Full HD Quick Release Dash Cam is also available on Argos for £39.99. But drivers are loving the discounted cam on Amazon, which has raked in some glowing reviews. One delighted customer said: "This dash cam is impressive, with both front and rear coverage. The video quality is sharp and the wide-angle view captures everything you need. It comes with its own app, making it easy to download footage and adjust settings. I'm really satisfied with the purchase—great value for the price." But a less satisfied shopper said: "Unfortunately this product is not fit for purpose. It cuts out constantly meaning I do not have the security of constant video coverage, which is the reason I bought this dashcam. "I reached out to the supplier for help, who initially replied to my concerns, but unfortunately I did not receive the hard wire kit offered - which apparently may resolve the issue, therefore I would recommend that you buy from a more reliable source as I feel this product has simply been a waste of money." Yet a happier shopper wrote: "One of my favourite features is the parking mode, which can be activated when paired with a hardwiring kit. It gives me peace of mind knowing my vehicle is being monitored even when I'm not around. "The included app is user-friendly and makes it easy to view live or recorded footage on the go. There are also plenty of settings to customize the dashcam to any preferences. All of this can be accessed by taking the included SD card out too." The dash cam is available on Amazon.
