‘Everybody' Dance: David Byrne Details New Album, Tour

It has been nearly seven years since David Byrne released his last album, American Utopia, which was later adapted into a hit Broadway musical and HBO film. Fresh off a surprise appearance with Olivia Rodrigo over the weekend at New York's Governors Ball festival, the artist has detailed his next moves, which include a fresh LP and a world tour. Due Sept. 5 from new label Matador Records, the album, Who Is the Sky?, was produced by Kid Harpoon, who is best-known for his past work with pop stars such as Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus. Each song features arrangements crafted by members of the New York-based Ghost Train Orchestra, with whom Byrne became intrigued after hearing their 2023 tribute album to the blind New York composer/street poet Moondog. More from Spin: Röyksopp's Freedom Frequency New Book Explores How 'Jagged Little Pill' Changed Everything Sly & The Family Stone's Sly Stone Dies At 82 The album's infectious lead single, 'Everybody Laughs,' is out now, as is a Gabriel Barcia-Colombo-directed video. Other guest contributors include Paramore's Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, the Smile drummer Tom Skinner and percussionist Mauro Refosco, who has played with Byrne since the mid-1990s. With titles such as 'My Apartment Is My Friend,' 'I Met the Buddha at a Downtown Party' and 'Moisturizing Thing,' listeners can expect songs with a bit more of a personal bent than usual for Byrne, whose gift for storytelling propelled the most memorable Talking Heads songs and was at the core of American Utopia. 'I suspected that intimate orchestral arrangements would bring out the emotion I sense is there in these songs,' Byrne explains. 'It's something that folks don't always hear in my work, but this time for sure I thought it was there. At the same time, I also see myself as someone who aspires to be accessible. I imagined that Kid Harpoon would help with that, as well as being a set of trusted ears, since there was a lot going on. People think of producers as people who mainly make a record sound good, and Kid Harpoon did that, but he was also aware of how important the storytelling is.' 'It took me a second to realize, oh yeah, these songs are personal, but with David's unique perspective on life in general,' says Kid Harpoon, who was introduced to Byrne at a Los Angeles party. 'Walking around New York listening to the demo of 'Everybody Laughs' was so joyous, because it made me feel like we're all the same – we all laugh, cry and sing. The thing about David that resonates with a lot of people is that he's in on the joke. He gets the absurdity of it all, and all of these personal observations are his perspective on it.' For the Who Is the Sky? tour, Byrne is re-teaming with members of the American Utopia band as part of a 13-strong group of onstage performers, all of whom will move freely around the stage. Dates begin Sept. 14 in Providence, R.I., and will keep Byrne in North America through mid-December, with an Australia/New Zealand leg set for January 2026 and a U.K/European run to follow. See all dates below. All this activity comes simultaneous to Talking Heads' 50th anniversary celebration, which last week saw the release of the first official video for the group's 1977 single 'Psycho Killer.' LSU's Flau'jae Johnson admits friendship with Angel Reese has soured

Flau'jae Johnson and Angel Reese won a women's college basketball national championship together when the two players were with the LSU Tigers. However, it appears a lot has changed since then. Reese, who now plays in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky, opened up about her relationship with Johnson in September during an episode of her podcast, "Unapologetically Angel." She said at the time the two were not "as close as we used to be" and "there were no hard feelings" toward each other, but the closeness that was once there just is not anymore. Johnson added more to it when she appeared on "The Breakfast Club" on Monday. "We're not friends, but I mean that bond that we had, that thing that we did together, winning a national championship, you can never take that away from us," she said. "And so sometimes stuff happens. You wish it don't happen, but it do. And you just gotta grow. "But I support her in everything she do. Like, she's killing in the WNBA … I'm just proud of her." Johnson agreed that the reason for the split was partially to do with things happening in the background. "Yeah, it was a lot of media, it was a lot of locker room stuff, you know what I'm saying? Stuff that go on behind the scenes. But it happens. It happens," she said. During the 2023-24 season, as LSU looked to defend its national title, the mothers of both Reese and Johnson got into a social media spat. Reese's mother, Angel Reese Webb, criticized Johnson on social media, which prompted a response from Johnson's mom, Kia Brooks, who took aim at the former Tigers' forward GPA. Reese, the former LSU star, seemingly threw shade at Brooks when she graduated from school. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

'Harry Potter' HBO series continues casting, picking Draco, Lucius Malfoy

'Harry Potter' HBO series continues casting, picking Draco, Lucius Malfoy Show Caption Hide Caption Harry Potter's Tom Felton talks Broadway at Tony Awards Tom Felton talks about joining the Broadway show "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" at the Tony Awards red carpet. The cast of the highly anticipated "Harry Potter" TV show is continuing to take shape. Draco Malfoy, Harry's classmate and foil, will be played by Lox Pratt, while his father, Lucius Malfoy, will be played by Johnny Flynn. Pratt is best known for the BBC's television adaptation of "Lord of the Flies," while Flynn stars in the Netflix thriller "Ripley" and appeared in the 2020 adaptation of Jane Austen's "Emma" alongside Anya Taylor-Joy. Some of Harry's kin have also been cast – Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon Dursley will be played by Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby, respectively. Molly Weasley, the mother of main character Ron Weasley, will be played by Katherine Parkinson, and Bertie Carvel will portray Cornelius Fudge. Meet your new Harry Potter: HBO series casts Harry, Ron and Hermione The HBO show, which is expected to premiere toward the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, follows in the footsteps of a wildly successful movie franchise and an even more successful book series. J.K. Rowling, the author of the wizarding novels, will serve as executive producer on the program. 'Harry Potter' cast: Who's starring in HBO show? In May, the actors who would portray the three leading characters – Harry, Ron and Hermione – were announced following a casting call put out by the studio seeking actors between the ages of 9 and 11 for the parts. The show appears intent on casting actors who mirror the real ages of the characters in the series. Dominic McLaughlin is set to play Harry, while Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will play Ron. Tom Felton weighs in on J.K. Rowling controversy as he sets 'Harry Potter' Broadway run Much like the actors who played the wizarding trio in the original films, McLaughlin, Stanton and Stout will age in real time alongside their characters as the television show is released over the course of 10 years. Through a television series format as opposed to the films, the show will be able to "dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years,' according to Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO & Max Content. The series had previously cast several of its supporting roles, with John Lithgow set to play Dumbledore, Nick Frost starring as Hagrid and Paapa Essiedu playing Snape. It has not yet been announced who will play Voldemort, the series' overarching villain portrayed in the movies by Ralph Fiennes. Fiennes himself has backed the idea of Cillian Murphy getting the role. Contributing: Brendan Morrow, Mary Walrath-Holdridge
