Cops have requested that anyone with information that could help their enquiries to come forward.
The local force has also increased its presence to reassure locals following the report.
An investigation is underway and it is believed the incident does not pose a greater risk to members of the public, according to police.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Cobbett said today: "Officers have been carrying out inquiries and the public can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area while this matter is investigated.
"We are in the early stages of this investigation, however it is believed to be an isolated incident. Anyone with concerns can approach officers to speak with them.
"Reports of rape are taken extremely seriously and we urge anyone with information to come forward, including witnesses in the area or those with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage."
District Commander William Keating-Jones said: "We understand the public's concern and we are working hard alongside partner agencies to tackle crime in the town.
"Officers will continue to carry out high-visibility patrols in Bognor to provide reassurance, to catch offenders, and to prevent new offences being committed. We continue to encourage anyone who is impacted by crimes to report them to us."
Anyone with information about the incident in Hotham Park on 21 April was asked to report it to Sussex Police online or call 101, quoting Operation Westbeach.

Little did the 15-year-old know that he would send it around the school and she would become a victim of image abuse. Image-based sexual abuse is a criminal offence, it's when someone takes, shares, or threatens to share sexually explicit images or videos of a person without their knowledge or consent, and with the aim of causing them distress or harm. This can include digitally altered images, also known as 'deepfakes' - something Jess has gone on to lobby the government to include in the Online Harms Safety Bill. Now 32, Jess has opened up about the trauma it caused and more shockingly, how she was blamed for the abuse. She revealed that once the photo had circulated in her hometown, it was then shared to grown adult men on the local football team. Instead of seeing Jess as a victim, whose private photo was shared without her consent, people blamed her. "Everyone knew my age because it was a small town, and yet, the whole narrative was around how it was my fault," Jess added. "That I shouldn't have sent it, what kind of girl are you? "There was never any conversation around why are men in their twenties and thirties passing around a child's image?" Jess was left as a teenage girl worrying about how to navigate the situation, and she decided she had to laugh it off. 2 Now, she advocates for sexual abuse victims Credit: Instagram/jessdavies Vicky Pattison shares deepfake porn clip of herself as she warns of dangers on C4 doc She revealed that boys in year 7 would run up and ask for a hug as they had seen the image as well. "I was laughing but secretly, this was humiliating," she said. In the end, her parents also found out about the image, as her nan was told about it from one of the men on the football team, where the image was being circulated. Now, as Jess has gotten older, she realises that the way people treated her for the image was not okay and that she was held more accountable than the grown men sharing the image. It has now led Jess to become an advocate for female rights and sexual abuse. Her BBC documentary 'Deepfake Porn: Could You Be Next' was used to lobby the UK government to criminalise deepfake porn. Jess also has a new book, No One Wants To See Your Dick, a guide for surviving the digital age to help us understand and tackle online misogyny and question society's understanding of consent.

However, the club announced the decision to cut the deal short. They wrote on social media: "Vasco da Gama announces that, in a friendly manner, it has reached an agreement to terminate the contract with midfielder Dimitri Payet early. "The club thanks the athlete for the professionalism, dedication and respect demonstrated throughout his time at Sao Januario, and wishes him success in his next challenges. "For Vasco, Payet played 77 matches, scored eight goals and contributed 16 assists. "Thank you, Payet. This is Vasco." Payet hit headlines in April when his ex-lover alleged he subjected her to "physical, moral, psychological and sexual violence" during a seven-month affair. The "lonely" married footballer was accused of forcing Larissa Ferrari to film degrading videos, SunSport revealed. Brazilian lawyer Ferrari, 28, also said the former French international Payet made her partake in a fake wedding and wear a ring to 'prove her love'. She claimed he made her drink her own urine and water from the toilet, and lick the floor - plus showed SunSport photos of her bruises. I was scared for my life, and I'm still scared." Payet denied "physical and psychological violence" in a statement to the police in Brazil, adding that everything was consensual and proposed by his accuser. The playmaker has four children with his wife of nearly 20 years, Ludivine, who remained in France after he joined Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro in 2023. Four red flags your partner is cheating Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating. They start to take their phone everywhere with them In close relationships, it's normal to know each other's passwords and use each other's phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something. Aaron says: "If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful." "You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something." They start telling you less about their day When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you. "If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don't want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag." "Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it's an easy way to get caught out," says Aaron. Their libido changes Your partner's libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron. Aaron says: "Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating. You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren't there before." They become negative towards you Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify. "To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere. Maybe you haven't walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating," warns Aaron. One person wrote: "Big fan of your work." Another commented: 'Him losing twice the same night is gold." "Ma'am you are a psychological genius," penned a third. "He's still thinking about that to this day. In fact his new girlfirend has to remind him he's beautiful once a week." Meanwhile a fourth said: "He was trying to play checkers but BABYYY you were playing CHESS." "Not gonna lie that's a pretty solid way of handling that,' claimed a fifth. Someone else added: 'Girl, if you don't catfish him every year like it's a nationally observed holiday, what are you doing with your life? Get him again."
