Madelyn Cline reacts to critics' fixation on her changing appearance on ‘Outer Banks'
The actress, 27, is clapping back at the online chatter about her appearance on 'Outer Banks.'
Cline has starred as Sarah Cameron on the Netflix drama, that follows a group of friends on the Outer Banks in North Carolina, for four seasons.

'People love to pay attention to weight specifically,' she told Allure in an interview published Friday. 'It's very bizarre to me. From season to season on 'Outer Banks,' my appearance has changed with lots of factors: stress, breakups, healthy or unhealthy habits with food. It's normal life.'
'But the camera, swear to God, picks up everything,' Cline confessed. 'Like, damn. Can I not be on my period? Can I not have a beer the night before?'

She quipped, 'In the comment sections, we are not always family.'
'This is my Roman Empire,' Cline said about body image.
'Outer Banks' premiered in 2020 and will kick off its fifth and final season in 2026.
As for filming Season 5, Cline feels 'excited' and 'ready.'

'I think everybody's kind of there,' she stated. 'I think it's time to grow up again.'
The show also stars Chase Stokes as John B, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, and Drew Starkey as Sarah's brother Rafe. Rudy Pankow played JJ, who died in Season 4.
While Sarah had a long-running romance with John B, Cline and Stokes, 32, dated for a little over a year in real life.

She has also been linked to musician Jackson Guthy and Pete Davidson.
'The jokes, they write themselves,' Cline teased to the outlet about dating Davidson, 31. 'And I said it before, and I'll say it again, that is my only comment.'
'He has a really cute dog,' she added, 'and some really great girlfriends now.'

But Cline isn't looking to jump back into the dating pool just yet.
'I want to experience this life on my terms first, before I do all the relationship stuff,' the 'Knives Out' star admitted. 'When I go to work, I get pretty locked in, and I get really, really overwhelmed sometimes when the priorities start stacking up and I'm trying to figure out where to put my energy.'
The mix between the 'Stranger Things' alum's ambition and the feeling she isn't good enough 'causes a little Menty B every now and again.'

'I can't think too hard about it because then I'll get really existential and treat myself badly,' she shared. 'I have these crazy anxieties, and I get freaked out, and I have, I do have impostor syndrome. And that's just very human, but also, I can do it. I've gotten this far.'
Cline pondered, 'What's the alternative? Xanax? Beta blockers?'
These days, the 'Wild Flowers' actress is focused on a slew of upcoming projects.

Cline stars in the upcoming 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' reboot and 'Day Drinker' alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz.
While on Friday's episode of Josh Horowitz's 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, the 'Boy Erased' vet said there is an 'attitude of gratitude' from the cast of 'Outer Banks' for the show that launched their careers.
'It's been the better part of my 20s,' she mused. 'And it is a security blanket I always go back to and that I always know is going to be there and is in a way, feels like having your training wheels taken off.'
Cline also touched on the bittersweet thought of wrapping the series for good.

'We've been in the thick of it for six or seven years. It kicks our a–es. It's a tough show to shoot, it's very physically demanding,' explained the South Carolina native. 'Well, I always come back, and I'm like, 'Oh f–k, I forgot how much stamina you need to have to keep up with this show and the elements that we shoot in.''
'This season, because we realized it's our last time — our very first day back, it was our last first day,' she expressed. 'That's what's hitting everyone.'

'The Summer I Turned Pretty.' 'Untamed' — TV and movie new releases to see or skip this weekend in Canada — streaming and in theatres
We're back to the discourse about Team Conrad vs. Team Jeremiah for Belly as The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 started its release on Prime Video this week. And the fans already have some intense thoughts. But while the show, based on Jenny Han's book trilogy, was appointment watching for many, others were heading to the movie theatre to see the highly anticipated I Know What You Did Last Summer remake, starring Outer Banks actor Madelyn Cline and The Studio's Chase Sui Wonders. Additionally, Eddington with Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix, from divisive filmmaker Ari Aster, also landed in theatres. Meanwhile, drama fans had Eric Bana's new limited series Untamed to enjoy at home on Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 3 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Admittedly, I have only watched the first two episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 to, but how could I not include one of the most highly anticipated TV releases of the year! I'm leaving room for improvement, or for things to really take a left turn as the season continues, but the first two episodes are incredibly juicy. In all honestly, I watched the first two episodes right at 3:00 a.m., and shortly after rewatched the episodes to really zero in on all the details and Easter eggs. It's just a story that will suck you in completely, it's a show that's incredibly addictive, and there's no denying how impressive it is for a show to have that much fandom. Where to watch The Summer I Turned Pretty: Prime Video Eddington — ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Ari Aster is a particularly polarizing filmmaker, so it's no surprise that there are a wide variety of opinions on Eddington. While Aster has some lofty goals in this film, with choices that at times feel overindulgent, it's ultimately an effective evaluation of paranoia and societal collapse, all set amid COVID-19 pandemic mandates. While several films and TV shows have tried to reflect life at the height of the pandemic, Aster has done it the best. There are few filmmakers who are able to build anxiety in a film like Aster, but the focus is ultimately an accurate reflection of how disoriented and chaotic our world. Whether we're willing to accept of not, the most cynical moments in the movie are in fact the most real. Where to watch Eddington: Now in theatres I Know What You Did Last Summer — ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I think it's worth remembering that when the 1997 film I Know What You Did Last Summer was first released, it wasn't a huge hit. It's one of those movies that became more beloved as people went back to watch it. With the new I Know What You Did Last Summer following a very similar story, this is a film that will mostly entertain those who are particular fans of the original, and those who love members of this new cast. This movie really leans into the silly and it's a fun journey if you're willing to not take the film to seriously. From Madelyn Cline's outrageous comedy to the visual spectacle of the slasher elements For any reboot there's always a question about whether it was necessary, and this is a film that rests on its audience already feeling invested in the story from the past. Where to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer: Now in theatres Untamed — ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The landscape of British Columbia is used as Yosemite National Park in Untamed, the new crime drama, limited series on Netflix, starring Eric Bana. From relationship drama to lingering trauma and critical safety concerns, Untamed checks all the boxes for elements of a story to build tension and suspense. At times it's predictable, at others a little over-to-top in its melodrama, but this is Bana at his best, giving a particularly engaging performance.
