Schottenheimer Reaches Out to Cowboys Legends To 'Celebrate Tradition'
Schottenheimer Reaches Out to Cowboys Legends To 'Celebrate Tradition' originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is doing all he can to instill what he hopes will be the best culture in all of professional sports.

And he's off to a great start.
As OTAs continue, Schotty invited several former players for a Cowboys Legends day, where they could sit in on team meetings and watch practice while engaging with their younger counterparts.
Michael Irvin and Tony Casillas both had glowing reviews regarding what they saw with the energy and vibe, completely different from previous years, and it left both thinking that maybe something special could be brewing at The Star.
'It was one of my favorite days of the offseason,' Schottenheimer said. 'I think we had over 25 guys that came and attended, we wanted to open up the team meeting for them, we wanted them to see our energy, our juice, the way we like to operate. To celebrate those guys, to make them feel welcome, is too easy. They're part of our family.

'More than anything it was a chance to bring them back, watch them be celebrated but to begin to develop the relationship and I want those guys to know they're always welcome and there's a place for them to celebrate the tradition.'
We know that Schottenheimer is very family-oriented, and this is another example.
Connecting the past and present so both can come together and help forge something special. Yes, we get it, it was OTAs, but it is those little things that add up over time in creating the kind of culture Schotty wants.
Irvin, Jimmy and Emmitt
Irvin and Casillas both mentioned how Schottenheimer was driving his program and how well the players responded to it, both when things were going well and when they weren't.

It appears that Schotty wants to keep the line of communication between the past and present open. The winds of change are blowing through The Star, and based on the reviews, not only did the former players like it, but Schottenheimer and his team did too.

Caitlin Clark's Favorite Animal is Turning Heads
Caitlin Clark's Favorite Animal is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports. WNBA star Caitlin Clark remains out for the Indiana Fever due to her left quad strain. She's set to be re-evaluated this weekend, though that means she won't be available to play on Saturday against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Advertisement Clark was averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per game for the Fever prior to her injury. Naturally, her absence has been a big blow to Indiana, which has won just one of the three games it has played without her. Despite her absence, though, Clark continues to make headlines as she stays involved with the Fever — attending practices, joining her teammates on the sidelines and being active on social media. On Friday, Clark had fans buzzing after the Fever posted a "Get To Know" post about her, which revealed her favorite actor, movie, condiment and even emoji, as well as a skill she would like to learn. One response that stood out, however, was her favorite animal. The WNBA All-Star answered "Cheetah," which quickly caught the attention of many. Advertisement It's worth noting that Clark has said in the past that she doesn't like cats. So, for her to choose not only a large cat but also the fastest land animal came as a surprise. "Scared of cats but likes cheetahs," a commenter wrote. Another one said, Afraid of cats, but loves cheetahs. Fascinating." "So who is gonna tell her that Cheetah is a cat," a fan added. For what it's worth, others connected her love for cheetahs to her love for running and sprinting. "Of course it's a cheetah. 'I love sprinting,'" a follower remarked. A fifth supporter shared, "Cheetah: 'I just love to sprint. I sprint everywhere.'" Advertisement "Cheetahs are the best. Hawks are a close second. Some Hawks can reach 240 mph when they dive," a social media user stated. Angel Reese Grabs Attention for Her Outfit Before Chicago Sky Game
Angel Reese Grabs Attention for Her Outfit Before Chicago Sky Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky may be struggling, but Angel Reese is not letting it stop her from making a statement off the court. Advertisement Chicago has already lost five of its seven games so far this 2025 WNBA season. The team has one of the worst offenses in the league, ranking 12th (out of 13 teams) in points per game with 77.4 and 11th in field goal percentage with 39.9. Their only wins so far have come against the Dallas Wings, a team that has only won one game this campaign. Entering Tuesday's game against the New York Liberty, the Sky are not expected to win at all. In fact, ESPN's Matchup Predictor gave them just a 12.1% chance to emerge victorious. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) looks on during a Krzaczynski-Imagn Images While the odds are stacked against them, it doesn't look like Reese and the rest of the team are bothered or discouraged. That much is clear as the team arrived at Barclays Center in style, showing their own fashion sense. Advertisement Reese, for her part, turned a lot of heads as usual with her business-yet-stylish attire. The WNBA All-Star was seen wearing a black oversized blazer that covered what appeared to be a black dress. The 23-year-old embellished it with a long pearl strand necklace, while also wearing sheer stockings and black pointy stilettos to complete her ensemble. Sure enough, fans loved Reese's attire and took to the comment section to heap praise on her overall look. "Queen Barbie let's go Angel," a commenter wrote on Instagram. Another one said, "They all so pretty, Angel facecard is insane." "Becca and Hailey are giving casual calm and Angel is giving Vogue with a mixture of Old Hollywood," a fan remarked. Advertisement A supporter added, "Barbie is giving Rich Girl Vibes." "Ok sportswomen of the year #ar5," a follower shared, referring to Reese's recent win as Sportswoman of the Year at the 2025 BET Awards. A sixth social media user posted, "Love you Angel! I don't care @angelreese5 what they say!! You are that Barbie."
