Leaving WWE can be a terrifying prospect for any wrestler, and Isla Dawn is trying to 'live in the moment'.
The 31-year-old Scottish star was signed by the sports entertainment giant in 2018 and captured the NXT and WWE Women's Tag Team Titles during her seven years with the company.
In February, it was revealed Isla had been released by WWE with her 90 day notice finishing in May, and she exclusively told Metro about her approach now she's a free agent.
'I want to just wrestle and travel and do all the things and whatever door opens, I will be straight through,' she said days before making her Burning Heart Pro Wrestling debut in Manchester against Aleah James on August 3.
She added: 'It's scary and exciting, because I'm kind of like, 'Oh, I don't know I'm doing with my life!' But then there's also all these opportunities to do things.'
The White Witch didn't rule out a move to AEW or TNA Wrestling, she also has her sights set on Australia and a return to Japan.
She explained: 'I want to have all these little things that I want to do and look back on and go, 'Oh, yeah, I've done this cool thing, and I've done that cool thing' rather than being so rigid.'
Isla has managed to stay positive, and even turned the day she got the call about her release into a 'great weekend in Nashville' with Irish star Lyra Valkyria after arriving a couple of nights before Raw.
It wasn't a shock. But I don't really remember much of the phone call other than me just being very polite,' she laughed. ''Hey, it's okay, no no, you're fine.' I was almost apologising, 'No, no, don't you worry, you're good!''
Since her exit, she's had support from the likes of Bayley and former United States Champion Chelsea Green, and she admitted as much as she loves wrestling, it's 'the people that make it'.
That's been true the entire time, going back to her first ever WWE appearance the week of her tryout, when she faced Asuka on Monday Night Raw in 2017.
'I was just there in makeup, terrified of being on WWE and I remember Bayley and Mercedes [Mone, AKA Sasha Banks] just coming over and being the nicest people alive and helping me,' she recalled.
'Before I went into Gorilla to have the match, I remember the two of them coming up and being like, 'Oh, you're gonna kill it. You look amazing'. Just actively building me up to make me feel good.'
Isla was signed the following year, and rose up the ranks through NXT UK and NXT, where she worked under Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels – and while she has fond memories of the Heartbreak Kid, her mum might not agree.
'My mum is terrified of Ouija boards, hates them. And I remember Shawn being like, 'Oh, we're gonna get you Ouija boards'. And me being like, 'Oh, that is really cool, Shawn, but my mum's gonna kill me, oh noooo,'' she said.
She can remember telling her mum about the idea, and her mum insisting she'd 'just have to tell Shawn Michaels no', which wasn't going to happen.
The highlight of Isla's time in WWE came last summer, when she and fellow Scottish star Alba Fyre – known as the Unholy Union – won the Women's Tag Team Titles in Scotland with their family watching.
WWE Hall of Famer Molly Holly was the one who told her they'd be winning gold, but Isla tried not to get carried away with the idea in case plans changed.
'It was nice to have that with her, because she's Molly Holly! She was also excited for us,' she smiled. 'It was very cool.'
Clash At The Castle itself feels 'like a blur now', and Isla admitted she can't remember much beyond the 'surreal' ending with 'all of Scotland' cheering them on.
'One thing I do remember, and I'll hold it against him for the rest of his life, is my nephew, who was three at the time,' she chuckled. 'I was making my entrance and standing in the corner and looking at my family, and he was on his iPad!'
Looking to the future, Isla is happy to take things as they come – but she's keen to build on what she's done so far. More Trending
'I'm never going to do a full 180 and be like this new person. What I've done my entire career has always been an extension of me,' she pointed out.
'I'm a different person, I'm an older person. So it's just a newer version of me, which is Isla Dawn, and Isla Dawn is me, and we are one.'

Could you land a job at the New Statesman in the 2020s?

Illustration by Roger Chouinard / Ikon Images We at the New Statesman are no strangers to hard work, but even the most diligent strivers need to take a break sometimes, and recently the New York Times was kind enough to provide us all with some distraction. 'Could you have landed a job at Vogue in the Nineties?' it asked, atop a cultural-literacy quiz, based on one once used to test applicants to the magazine. Once we were done smugly trading our scores, I began dwelling on what such a quiz would look like for this title. So, I present: 'Could you land a job at the New Statesman in the 2020s?' EastEnders' Joel branded a ‘disgusting little pervert' as Ross makes a discovery

Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) has finally flipped over Joel's (Max Murray) disgusting behaviour in EastEnders. It became immediately clear when the father and son arrived in Walford alongside Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year that they were hiding a fair few skeletons in their closet. They couldn't return to their home in Australia, as Joel had upskirted a pupil in his class, and Ross had paid her family $50,000 in exchange for their silence. He's since enacted havoc on the residents of Albert Square, impregnating Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and introducing new mate Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to dangerous adult content online. Later, Joel showed Tommy videos made by a disgusting influencer, who degrades women. Joel thought this was an appropriate way to talk about the opposite sex, branding his own mum a 'slapper', talking about how she abandoned him as a child. He also sexually assaulted a passenger on the London Underground in an utterly vile move, with Vicki paying off the victim. Earlier this week, Joel discovered some big news about his estranged mother Cleo, that left him reeling. Other than Joel's derogatory comments about his mum, we don't know an awful lot about her. She contacted Ross to inform him that she was remarrying, and despite us finally finding out her name, fans are still convinced that she is none other than Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), using a pseudonym. This was fuelled by him yelling: 'Well, you ain't my mum, you don't get to tell me what to do!' during a row with Vicki, which seemed to echo a very famous 'Enders quote. As long-term fans will remember, back in 2005, Zoe screamed: 'You can't tell me what to do, you ain't my mother!', as her mum Kat (Jessie Wallace) howled back: 'Yes I am!' Joel's version coincidentally aired in the same week that Zoe returned after 20 years. Well, rather unsurprisingly, he hasn't taken it well. As we saw, he headed to The Vic to catch up with Tommy – and suggested they make things more exciting by stealing some booze from the barrel store. It didn't take long for the lads to be discovered, and Ross dragged Joel home. As he was being carted out of the pub he spurted a number of derogatory and extremely concerning comments about Kat. Back at home, Ross made another worrying discovery… In tonight's episode, Ross attempted to worm his way into Joel's mindset and learn the extent of his issues. Joel told his dad that as a man he has no rights, and continued to tear strips off Kat. Ross was at a loose end with what to say, and suggested they have a beer together and a heart to heart. Sitting down, Joel opened his laptop and played a video from the influencer he's a fan of. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Ross compared the comments to something a comedian would say on TV in the 80s – laden with sexism and misogyny. However, when alone, Ross was startled by the extend the uploader went with this vile words. With Joel out of the room, Ross then spied an email that contained a video of a girl assaulted. To make matters worse, he then found countless other clips of girls being upskirted and voyeurism. More Trending Furious, he charged into the kitchen with the laptop and drenched it under the sink, revolted at what his son was capable of. As he branded him a 'revolting, arrogant, disgusting little pervert', Joel pleaded for forgiveness. But Ross wasn't in the forgiving mood, telling him that not only does he need help, but it's clear there's something wrong with him. View More » What will Joel's next move be? Vinny makes unexpected confession to Aaron in Emmerdale

An afternoon with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) led to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) making a very honest confession in Emmerdale. Vinny's head has been in a right mess ever since he tried to kiss his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). In the immediate aftermath, Vinny tried to tell Kammy it was a joke, but was actually left terribly confused about how it made him feel. Kammy has attempted to help Vinny talk through his feelings, but he's been quite defensive about it and has remained adamant his heart belongs with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham). Yesterday, Vinny allowed himself a brief moment to not live in denial while spending time with Kammy again. At the scrapyard, Kammy gave Vinny a watch as a gift ahead of his wedding. He was touched and went to put it in the office as Kammy searched for items for his car. As Vinny watched his pal through the window, he started gazing at him lustfully. It was perhaps this interaction that prompted Vinny to be vulnerable in a chat with Aaron in this evening's episode. At the flat, as they battled some DIY, Aaron told Vinny that he kissed Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) on his wedding day. Moments later, Vinny told Aaron that he recently tried to kiss someone as well. He didn't confirm who it was, but Aaron assumed it was a female. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? Aaron wondered if Vinny was confused and worried about the wedding to Gabby. Vinny ended up convincing him that he wasn't unsure about committing to marriage and Aaron said that if that is the case, Gabby can't ever find out about what happened.
