While it was not the traditional opening to fall camp that one expected, Sanders provided the Colorado team and its fans with much-needed clarity on his health status ahead of the upcoming season.

Deion Sanders is cured of bladder cancer
The most significant piece of news to emerge from the press conference is that Deion Sanders is cancer-free. After a relatively short battle with bladder cancer, Sanders and his oncologist, Janet Kukreja, said that he is cured after the removal of his entire bladder.
The Colorado football program couldn't ask for better news going into the season, as Sanders' cancer battle is behind him.
Sanders' cancer was caught early
Despite not having any symptoms, Sanders' cancer was caught early, allowing for the removal of the bladder before the cancer spread. The cancer was caught during a routine CT scan that Sanders received after dealing with blood clot issues in the past.
He chose a treatment plan beneficial to his life goals
Sanders is a father of five and the head football coach of a Power Four program; making weekly visits to a hospital to receive cancer treatments was not in his plans. Sanders instead chose to remove his bladder, which included a prosthetic bladder made from his intestine.
Colorado football will be immensely motivated this season
If playing for Coach Prime was not motivating enough, every player on Colorado's roster will now be playing for a coach who fought cancer a certain way so he could coach them this fall. That is inspirational for the entire locker room.

Notre Dame football to host Chicago 2027 4-star cornerback Tavares Harrington this fall
Notre Dame football has had great success recruiting its neighboring state of Illinois, and in the 2027 cycle they are trying to continue that trend. Chase Daniel breaks down training camp film of Broncos QB Bo Nix
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has been honing his craft in preparation for the 2025 NFL season, and the experts are taking notice. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel recently attended Broncos training camp alongside The Athletic's Diana Russini, and he was pleasantly surprised with the progress Nix has shown from 2024 to now. "I'm telling you, Bo Nix looks excellent," Daniel said on his YouTube channel. "He's ready to make a huge jump into year two." In his eight-minute assessment of Nix, Daniel complimented Nix's quick footwork, crisp passes on both downfield and intermediate throws and his improved mechanics after working with throwing guru Tom House. For example, at one point while looking at a clip of Nix taking a dropback, Daniels remarked, "That's the quickest five-step drop you could possibly take." As a former quarterback himself, Daniel then took viewers through why he likes what he sees. "I like these type of drills; this is really cool. (It is) a little peek under the hood of how things are made in a perfect throw," said Daniel. Daniel reviewed about 10 throws from Nix, showing how his game has taken a dramatic step forward going into 2025. "I am bullish on the Denver Broncos," said Daniel. "I think they have everything they need." Steelers defender reveals season-ending injury on social media
The injury news in Pittsburgh keeps coming — and you can't help but feel for Steelers DT Dean Lowry, who took to social media to reveal his season-ending ACL injury. While Lowry was placed on the Reserve/Injured List a few days prior, it was his message on Instagram that caught fans' attention — one of understanding that there are risks required when playing football. "During a training camp practice last week I sustained an ACL injury that will likely end my season," Lowry wrote on Instagram. "Hard to comprehend the thoughts and emotions I have felt since then.
