Scorpio, Thar, Fortuner: SUVs Block Busy Gurugram Road To Shoot Reels
The incident took place near residential high-rises Shobha City and Experion Heartsong, on the stretch connecting Sector 108 to the Dwarka Expressway. Over a dozen vehicles, including a white Mercedes-Benz SLC convertible, Aston Martins, Toyota Fortuners, Mahindra Thars, Scorpios, and several hatchbacks, were involved. The scene was captured in a video later uploaded to social media.
The video showed two men standing on the seats of the Mercedes-Benz convertible with the roof down, while others filmed them from nearby vehicles. Several individuals were seen leaning out of sunroofs or standing on footrests, cheering as the convoy blocked the entire road.
Leading the convoy was a Mercedes-Benz SLC, seen in the video and priced at approximately Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Residents alleged that the vehicles were fitted with illegal sirens, which were blared throughout the stunt. The noise and obstruction reportedly brought traffic to a standstill for over seven minutes, disrupting commuters and residents trying to pass through the area.
The convoy was not part of any official shoot.
The caption of a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) read, "Aston Martin, sirens, and lawlessness on full display in Gurugram. 22 cars. Hooligans blocking a key road near Sector 108 for reel-making. Blared illegal hooters, disrupted traffic for over 7 minutes. Residents fuming. Not a film shoot-just another day of arrogance on wheels. Thankfully, police have booked the culprits and will seize all vehicles, including the Rs 4 crore Aston Martin."
"If your content disrupts public life, it's not a reel, it's a crime," the caption added.
Gurugram Police acknowledged the incident and said that the matter has been "forwarded to the concerned officer for necessary action."

Last month, a group of men was caught on camera performing dangerous stunts on modified tractors in Gurugram's upscale CyberHub area. The video showed them speeding through the busy corporate district, smashing plastic traffic bollards, and performing reckless manoeuvres to Haryanvi and Punjabi music, all allegedly for social media content.

Now, this amount is being used for the development of this country," the prime minister said. PM Modi was speaking at an event at Kartavya Path after inaugurating Kartavya Bhavan (Common Central Secretariat Building) 3, the first of the 10 state-of-the-art Central government office complexes planned as part of the Central Vista redevelopment plan. These blocks will house offices of all ministries and associated departments, presently functioning from Shastri Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, North and South Blocks and other buildings located at different locations.

Over ₹ 79,000 seized in Arcot municipality office after worker's complaint
Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized ₹ 79,282 unaccounted cash from the office of Arcot municipality in Ranipet on Wednesday. DVAC sources said that the municipality has engaged 102 temporary sanitary workers on contract basis mainly for door-to-door garbage collection from households in the town. As per norms, each worker should be paid Rs 489 for their work on a daily basis. However, it has been alleged by sanitary workers that they were paid only Rs 370 for each worker daily by the civic body. Sanitary workers also complained of non-payment of wages for the past three months by the civic body. Thw workers have complained to DVAC that more money has been deducted from civic officials for Provident Fund and ESI from their wages as against stipulated percentage of wages to it. Based on complaints by affected workers to the Commissionerate of Municipal Administration, a six-member team led by V. Ganesh, Deputy SP, DVAC (Ranipet) conducted the searches between 8. 30 p.m on Tuesday to 4.30 a.m on Wednesday morning. DVAC officials also questioned Municipal Commissioner S. Venketalakshman and other senior municipal officials present during the searches in the office. After hours of search, DVAC officials recovered the unaccounted cash from washrooms and storerooms in the municipal building. As most of the financial transactions are done online, DVAC also seized mobile phones of senior municipal officials for verification of cash transactions. A detailed investigation is underway.

SC refuses to grant relief to IAS officer in graft case
Cuttack: The Supreme Court refused to grant relief to senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi in a corruption case, dismissing his plea challenging an order by Orissa high court that had denied him anticipatory bail. A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih in its order on Aug 4 said it was 'not inclined to interfere' with the high court's July 28 ruling. However, the court allowed Sethi the liberty to surrender and apply for regular bail, saying it would be considered 'on its own merits'. The case stems from the arrest of a group general manager of a public sector unit on Dec 8, 2024, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a Bhubaneswar-based real estate firm. During interrogation of the manager, Sethi's name reportedly emerged, following which CBI raided the senior bureaucrat's residence on Feb 18 this year. Sethi had earlier approached the high court for anticipatory bail after his petition seeking to quash the CBI probe was dismissed on June 20. The high court termed his plea 'premature' as the investigation was still at an early stage.
