‘Smurfs': the full tracklist for Rihanna's new animated movie
Based on the evergreen Belgian comic series by cartoonist Peyo, Smurfs follows the efforts of Smurfette and her fellow Lilliputian creatures as they set out to rescue their mentor Papa Smurf from the clutches of evil wizard brothers Gargamel and Razamel. The premise might seem familiar to previous Smurf adventures, but with Rihanna in the cast, the film's soundtrack promises to be a step above its precursors.
The Smurfs movies have always stuck to a feel-good pop sound with singles like Britney Spears's Ooh La La for The Smurfs 2 and Meghan Trainor's I'm A Lady for Smurfs: The Lost Village. For 2025's Smurfs, Chris Lord's Puss in Boots collaborator Henry Jackman is on scoring duties, while a 14-track pop soundtrack boasts high-profile names like Tyla and Cardi B along with cast members Rihanna and James Corden.
With 14 uplifting pop numbers, the Smurfs tracklist captures the magical and cheerful nature of its little blue heroes.
What's on the Smurfs soundtrack?
Milenge by Natania
Celebrate by Natania
Friend of Mine by Rihanna
Higher Love by DESI TRILL feat. DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania and Subhi
Liar For A Living by Natania
It Takes A Village by Natania and The Indian Connect
Big Dreams by James Fauntleroy
To Me by Lous and the Yakuza
Did We by Natania
Balle Balouza by Natania, Subhi and The Indian Connect
Everything Goes With Blue by Tyla
It's My Party by Shenseea
Always On The Outside by James Corden
Higher Calling by The Indian Connect
The Smurfs soundtrack not only offers original pop tracks from Rihanna, 'Water' hitmaker Tyla, and rapper Cardi B, but a good chunk of the songs also share an Indian connection. Featuring Indian-American vocalists like Subhi and Natania on multiple songs, the tracklist occasionally also features Hindi lyrics, such as Natania's opening track Milenge (a Hindi word that roughly translates to 'meeting someone').
To reflect the different sounds and moods of the Smurfs, the artist lineup is also globally diverse, ranging from Congolese-Belgian rapper-singer Lous and the Yakuza to Jamaican dancehall artist Shensea. The most star-studded single off the album is Higher Love, a song produced by DESI TRILL, the British record label and collective that focuses on " desi" South Asian artists. With vocal contributions from Subhi and Natania, Higher Love also features frequent collaborators DJ Khaled and Cardi B.
As for Rihanna's song Friend of Mine, the tropical dance track features very limited lyrics and more of vocal refrains. Still, at a time when the Barbadian megastar hardly drops any singles and albums, the Smurfs song and her lead role as Smurfette will be enough to appease her fans. Friend of Mine joins the ranks of Rihanna's other notable soundtrack recordings like Lift Me Up (from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Sledgehammer (Star Trek Beyond).
Who is in the cast?
Unlike 2011's The Smurfs which blended animated characters with live-action performances, the animated reboot sticks solely to a voice cast. Rihanna voices Smurfette, with character actor John Goodman voicing Papa Smurf, the leader of the Smurfs. This marks Goodman's return to animation after voicing the memorable Sully in Monsters Inc.
Papa's brothers Ron and Ken are voiced by Hollywood royalty Kurt Russell (Tombstone, The Thing) and TV star Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, The Last of Us). Other Smurfs are voiced by Killing Eve 's Sandra Oh, Mrs and Mrs Smith star Maya Erskine, Cobra Kai breakout Xolo Maridueña, and British comedian-presenter James Corden.
Other cast members in undisclosed roles include popular comedy names like Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Dan Levy, and Natasha Lyonne. That's not all, as Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer, masked DJ Marshmello, and talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel also join the ensemble.
When is Smurfs released?
Smurfs is in cinemas on July 18, 2025.

Beautiful island worth £25m just 39 miles from UK's 'worst seaside town'
Boasting more than 500 acres of rustic gardens orchards, meadows, and salt marsh - and five miles of soft golden sand - you wouldn't expect this breathtakingly beautiful island to be in the UK A stunning island with five miles of soft golden sand feels worlds apart from its infamous neighbour. Situated on the idyllic Blackwater Estuary, and surrounded by some 550 acres of rustic gardens, orchards, meadows, and salt marsh - lies the enchanting isle of Osea. With secluded beaches and huge mansions, you'd expect to find a retreat this tranquil in the iconic Hamptons, or on a remote archipelago in the Caribbean. Instead, Osea Island (formerly known as Osey) is in Essex, and is located less than 40 miles from Clacton-on-Sea, a 'rundown' seaside town often ranked one of the worst in the country. In the words of Tatler Magazine, it 'feels more Martha's Vineyard than East Anglia'. On its official website, Osea Island describes itself as: "An idyllic haven basking serenely on the Blackwater Estuary, yet remarkably, just a little over an hour's drive from the city! "It's a place to switch off from a troubled world and savour moments as you wander along its five miles of private beaches, rarely bumping into another soul." Touted as a blank canvas for 'creating memories that will live on for years to come', this exclusive island is filled with charming cottages, apartments and grand houses which are all available to book for holidays and family get togethers. You can even hire out the entire island for private events, making it a magnet for celebs. In fact, it is reported Rihanna, Jude Law, Stormzy, and Daniel Radcliffe have all stayed at the island in the past - whether it be for filming locations, inspiration to write music, or a much-needed escape from reality. Last year, the island and all of its 38 residential properties, unexpectedly went up for sale - with a guide price of £25 million. However, the listing was later removed from Right Move. "The island is rich in history with evidence from the Viking, Norman and Roman eras and has connections with the brewing family Charrington (c.1903) and, during WWI, it was a secret naval base named 'SS Osea' and also referenced in WWII," said estate agents Fine & Country. "Today the island offers unique beauty in a natural habitat combined with the recent celebrity and business ventures." Luckily, tourists can still stay on Osea Island - but spending the night won't come cheap. For example, a two-night stay (Wednesday, July 30 - August 1) at the Captain's House, which features seven double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and extensive gardens that lead down to the beach, will set you back a whopping £5,980. If you're a group of 20 friends, this works out at around £300 per person. There are less grand properties on the island, such as Manor Beach 2. This luxury cottage sleeps up to four people, consisting of two double bedroom suites, a wood-burning stove, a kitchen and a dining area. Staying here on the exact same nights costs £960, which equals £240 per person.

Rihanna 'set to tour again after cancelling London dates' as she prepares to welcome third child
Rihanna is reportedly set to tour again after cancelling a string of dates in London which were meant to take place this summer. The singer, 37, who is currently preparing to welcome her third child with her partner ASAP Rocky, has now rearranged the shows. According to reports, she had been rumoured to be planning a six-concert residency in London in July to mark her return to music. It was later reported that Rihanna pulled out of the proposed gigs at West Ham's stadium in a secret meeting last week in March, just before they were set to be publicly confirmed. The tour is now set to be back on for 2026, The Sun reports, which will mark her first UK shows since 2016. A source told the newspaper: 'But Rihanna and her team are now confident they can make it work for next year.' They added: 'The dates will also coincide with the tenth anniversary of [her last album] Anti, and fans can expect to hear her new music too. 'Rihanna might be pregnant with her third baby but she is the ultimate working mum and has the support of her partner ASAP Rocky.' Daily Mail has contacted Rihanna's representatives for comment. Music insiders previously claimed to The Telegraph that Rihanna was lining up shows at London Stadium for July 4 and 5, with other possible concerts set for July 8, 9, 11 and 12. A second source told the publication that her promoters were 'holding' the arena - formerly the Olympic Stadium - for her, with preparations in the advance planning stages. The run of concerts would've been Rihanna's first in almost a decade, after the release of her last album Anti in 2016. The Umbrella hitmaker finally confirmed her ninth album was on its way in an interview with Harper's Bazaar in February. She sent fans wild as she teased she's 'cracked the code' on her 'next body of work' and that it 'feels right.' Rihanna told the outlet: 'This time away from from music needs to count for the next thing everyone hears. It has to matter. I have to show them it was worth the wait.' The nine-time Grammy winner revealed her pregnancy news when she showed off her baby bump at the Met Gala back in May. Just last week, she dished on motherhood as she is expecting her third baby. She told Access Hollywood that her 'two princes' RZA and Riot have a ton of energy that wear her out when she attended the Smurfs premiere in Los Angeles. She is the voice actor for Smurfette in the new animated musical-comedy film and brought along her kids for the red carpet event ahead of the movie's release. It comes just days after the singer attended her father's funeral in her native country of Barbados - after he passed away at the age of 70 on May 30 following a battle with pancreatic cancer and accompanying complications. During an interview with Extra at the Smurfs premiere, she opened up about her little ones joining her at the screening. 'I'm excited for tonight. Tonight is going to be fun. We get to watch the movie together for the first time. I get to watch it in its full completion. So, that should be interesting,' she expressed.
