In an interview with GQ Hype, the 55-year-old actor explained how a mix of traditional practices, simple diet choices, and a strict daily routine helped him transform his body in just 21 days without the use of gyms, surgeries, or medication.
Ayurvedic oil baths and natural skincare
Madhavan credited his skincare routine to practices he has followed since childhood. 'My routine is simple: since childhood, I've taken an oil bath every Sunday—with nalla ennai [sesame oil]; you apply it all over your body, especially your head. On other days, it's coconut oil, applied in a specific manner. This ayurvedic practice has served me well for over 20 years,' he said.

Fresh meals and traditional food habits
Madhavan said he prefers freshly prepared meals, a habit developed during his childhood. 'When I was young, we didn't have a fridge at home, so food always had to be freshly prepared. That habit stuck. It's probably why fast food, packaged stuff, reheated dishes, or non-seasonal fruits don't go down well with my body,' he said.
Even during film shoots, he makes sure to eat home-style meals. 'Even when I'm on set, I take my chef along to cook simple meals like dal, sabzi, and chawal—the kind my mom made. I also don't get all the fuss around rice. My grandparents lived till the ripe old age of 92 and 93, and they ate rice three times a day.'

Madhavan shared that he does not follow fixed meal times but listens to his body instead. 'I eat only when I'm hungry, not by the clock. That keeps me alert, happy, and young,' he said. He also avoids fried foods and alcohol as much as possible.

In 2024, Madhavan surprised fans with his lean and sharp look. The actor explained that he achieved the transformation through food discipline and a balanced daily routine. A snippet of his interview with Curly Tales, shared via social media, quickly went viral.

1. Intermittent fasting
He followed a time-restricted eating window. According to Johns Hopkins, intermittent fasting can support weight loss and improve metabolic health.
2. Chewing food 45–60 times per bite
Madhavan said this method helps digestion and prevents overeating. He called it 'drinking your food and chewing your water.'
3. Long walks in the morning
Instead of intense exercise, he took long walks. Walking helped him stay active and manage stress.
4. No raw food after 3 PM
He avoided raw fruits and salads in the evening for better digestion.
5. Last meal before 6:45 PM
Finishing dinner early gave his body enough time to digest food before sleeping.
6. No screen time before bed
He stayed away from screens at least 90 minutes before sleeping, which helped him sleep better.
7. Drinking plenty of fluids
Hydration remained a key part of his day, supporting digestion and skin health.
8. Eating green vegetables and easy-to-digest food
His meals included cooked, simple foods with no processed or artificial ingredients.

But in a recent interview, the legendary playback singer revealed that many of her bold tracks didn't just raise eyebrows, they were outright banned on Indian radio. 'Why do I only get the bold songs?' Asha once asked RD Burman Speaking to Republic Bharat, Asha Bhosle recalled confronting her late husband and composer RD Burman, fondly known as Pancham Da, about his song choices. She questioned why she was repeatedly given provocative numbers, while her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar received the softer, more 'respectable' melodies. T'puram: Women's organizations, including Women's Collective in Cinema, Disha and Anweshi have filed a complaint with state women's commission against filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan for his controversial remarks at the film conclave. In the complaint, the organizations have demanded that Gopalakrishnan be summoned for an explanation. They also requested that Gopalakrishnan be excluded from govt events, stating that his remarks were anti-women and insulting especially to singer Pushpavathi. Gopalakrishnan made the controversial remark during the closing session of the film conclave. As the comment became controversial, minister V N Vasavan and musician Sreekumaran Thampy came to Gopalakrishnan's defence. The minister said that he did not believe Gopalakrishnan's comment was made with ill intent and that it was twisted into a controversy. Vasavan also mentioned that the govt stands with women and SC-ST communities. However, minister R Bindu responded by rejecting Gopalakrishnan's remark. She said that govt has a responsibility to ensure justice for those who are denied it.
