Auburn Tigers remain No. 11 in latest USA TODAY Baseball Coaches Poll Auburn Tigers remain at No. 11 with wins over Georgia Tech and Mississippi State
The Auburn Tigers stay at No. 11 in the latest USA TODAY Baseball Coaches Poll released on Monday. Auburn went 3-1 last week with a mid-week win over Georgia Tech, and a weekend series win over Mississippi State. The Auburn bats came alive over the weekend with 27 runs scored. It had been a struggle on offensive over the previous four games.
Auburn got the week started on with a 1-0 win over Georgia Tech to sweep the season versus the Yellow Jackets. The Tigers used four pitchers in the game allowing just two hits and struck out 15 batters. Christian Chatterton got the start and pitched four innings with six strikeouts.
Auburn then took two of three games from the Mississippi State Bulldogs for another SEC series win. The Tigers took game one with a 6-5 win. Freshman Chris Rembert started his big weekend with a four-hit performance and two RBIs. He broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth with a double that scored both Chase Fralic and Cooper McMurray.
Game two was a struggle for the Auburn pitching staff. The pitchers gave up 12 runs on 14 hits, and the Tigers were down 10-1 in the fourth inning in the 12-7 loss. Starting pitcher Cade Fisher gave up four runs from a couple of two-run home runs. Rembert only had one hit in the game, but it was a solo home run in the seventh to make the score 10-5.
The Tigers took the series on Sunday with a 14-8 win. Auburn used a six-run second inning to take an 8-2 lead. Rembert hit a two-run home run followed by a three-run home run in the inning. Auburn also scored three runs in both the fourth and eighth innings.
Auburn is one of ten teams from the SEC in the latest rankings. The rest of the teams include Texas (No. 1), LSU (No. 2), Arkansas (No. 5), Tennessee (No. 6), Georgia (No. 7), Vanderbilt (No. 15), Alabama (No. 16), Ole Miss (No.18), and Oklahoma (No. 21). The Tigers also received a high ranking for Baseball America at No. 5. Auburn will return to the diamond on Tuesday night when they play Samford in Hoover at 6 p.m. CT.

Former MSU LB, Notre Dame coach gives perfect 'football guy' media session quote

It's clear that former Michigan State star linebacker Max Bullough is the same fired up, standard "football guy" as he was during his playing days A former Michigan State star linebacker turned some heads on Monday during a preseason fall camp media session. Former Spartans star defender Max Bullough appears to be that same football-loving, stereotypical, tough "football guy" that we saw on the field during his playing days. Bullough now coaches linebackers at Notre Dame, and on Monday, he gave an inspired sound bite on preseason fall camp. Check out the clip of Bullough speaking to the media in the post below -- courtesy of Tyler Horka of Bullough was a fan favorite and star for the Spartans during some of hall of fame coach Mark Dantonio's teams. He was a team captain and starred for the Spartans during the 2013 Big Ten championship team that reached the program's first Rose Bowl in nearly 30 years. Bullough has quickly worked his way up the coaching ranks and it seems like he could very soon be a defensive coordinator and maybe one day a head coach. I personally wouldn't mind seeing him brought back to Michigan State at some point, especially, if he can bring back some of that Spartan Dawg defensive magic that we saw during his playing days. Auburn EDGE Keldric Faulk included in Bednarik watch list

One of Auburn football's top defensive players has earned a spot on a prestigious award watchlist ahead of the 2025 season. Auburn EDGE rusher Keldric Faulk was one of 90 players named to the 2025 Bednarik Award Watch List this week, and one of 23 players from the SEC to earn preseason recognition. The Bednarik Award is given annually to the best defensive player in college football, with former Colorado iron man Travis Hunter winning the award last season. Faulk has appeared in every game of his two-year Auburn career, but made a name for himself last season. The junior from Highland Home logged 45 tackles with seven sacks and a fumble recovery last season, and has recorded 80 total tackles in his career. Faulk is Auburn's top returning defender according to Pro Football Focus data after building an 83.8 overall defensive grade, trailing only fellow pass rusher Jalen McLeod for the top spot. He created a team-leading 45 tackles and 32 quarterback hurries last season, and missed just four tackles in 591 total snaps. Faulk is also considered one of the top draft prospects ahead of next year's NFL draft. According to NFL draft buzz, Faulk is the No. 2 EDGE prospect and the No. 7 overall prospect. Due to his high ratings, he is expected to be a top-10 pick in next year's draft. The Bednarik Award will announce its semifinalists on Nov. 11, and the winner will be crowned on Dec. 11 as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show. 2027 Mississippi defender Deven Robertson plans to visit Notre Dame for Texas A&M showdown

Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove four-star DL Deven Robertson will visit Notre Dame for the Texas A&M game on Sept. 13 ☘️The Aggies and Irish are among the schools battling for the No. 35 DL in the 2027 class‼️Read: Notre Dame has put together one of its strongest classes ever with its 2026 haul, and Marcus Freeman and Co. have kept their foot on the pedal when it comes to assembling talent for 2027. One target in that class is Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS) defensive lineman Deven Robertson, who is coveted by several top schools. Robertson has decided to attend the Fighting Irish's clash against Texas A&M in South Bend on September 13. It just so happens that the Aggies are also in play for the No. 34 DL in the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-3, 304-pound three-star prospect, who was part of one of the deepest defensive line groups to attend ND's Irish Invasion camp earlier this summer, has offers from top programs such as Florida, LSU, Miami, Texas A&M and USC. If the Irish are able to land Robertson, it would be another strong early addition to a class that currently holds commitments from linebacker Ellis McGaskin and long snapper Sean Kraft. Robertson would add nice size to the interior defensive line for coach Al Washington, who has forged a strong relationship with the Mississippi native.
