How many innings are played in the Little League World Series? LLWS rules

The Little League World Series is currently taking over the ESPN family of networks with games in the United States bracket and international bracket. As you are watching the Little League World Series, you'll notice some subtle differences between Little League rules and that of Major League Baseball or NCAA baseball. The biggest difference is the number of innings played for the 12U All-Stars in the modified double-elimination tournament held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, each year. Here's everything to know about how many innings are in a Little League World Series game and the other important rules about players and Little League Baseball. How many innings are in a Little League World Series game? Under normal circumstances, a complete Little League World Series game is played over six innings. If the home team is winning the game entering the top of the sixth inning and gets three outs against the visiting team, then the game will end with five and a half innings played as the home team will not bat in the bottom of the sixth inning. Can a Little League World Series game go into extra innings? Yes. If the score is still tied after six complete innings, then the two teams will go into extra innings starting with the seventh inning. The difference with the seventh inning and every inning needed after that, is that a runner starts the seventh inning (and beyond) on second base. That runner, according to Little League, 'is scheduled to bat last in that respective half inning.' What are the special circumstances for an abbreviated Little League World Series game? A Little League World Series game can end before the sixth inning under what Little League calls the 'Run Rule." If, after three innings (or two-and-a-half if the home team is winning), one team is winning by 15 runs or more, the game will end. If, after four innings (or three-and-a-half if the home team is winning), one team is winning by 10 runs or more, the game will also end early. When is a Little League World Series game considered an official game? According to Little League, 'each tournament game must be played to the point of being an official game," which means at least four innings played (or three-and-a-half innings if the home team is ahead) and the game isn't shortened by the 15-run rule or the 10-run rule. How many innings can a Little League Baseball player throw in a game? Little League Baseball doesn't have a strict per-game pitching innings limit. However, Little League does monitor how many pitches a player can throw in a game and there are corresponding days of rest tied to how many pitches a player throws in each game. The maximum number of pitches a player can throw in a Little League World Series game is 85 pitches. However, a pitcher can go over the 85-pitch threshold to finish an at-bat that started under 85 pitches, but that batter would be the last one before the pitcher must be removed from the mound. The pitching ranges and corresponding days of rest are as followed: Sherlon Christie is a social media editor for USA TODAY Sports. Dalton Rosta responds to Fabian Edwards' PED accusations: 'Blame his sh*t-ass genetics'

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Dalton Rosta finds Fabian Edwards' PED claims amusing. Rosta (11-1) takes on Edwards (15-4) in the middleweight tournament finals Thursday at 2025 PFL World Tournament 10 from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Edwards called Rosta a "juicehead wrestler," but the American Top Team fighter says he's been drug tested an unusual number of times throughout his career and never tested positive. "Everybody thinks I'm on steroids," Rosta told MMA Junkie and other reporters at a pre-fight news conference Tuesday. "Like I said, I don't even f*cking lift weights. I see videos of this guy lifting weights all the time. If I'm a body builder, and I take steroids because I look like this, and I don't lift weights, and he's lifting weights, and he looks like that? I just blame his sh*t-ass genetics or sh*t-ass work ethic. I've never taken a steroid a day in my life, and USADA can attest to that. They've been drug testing the hell out of me. "I went to South Africa for the PFL card down there, as soon as I land, I'm getting drug tested. I just got drug tested a week before that, and they drug test me before and after every fight. I've been drug tested by every commission too before USADA was around whenever I was with Bellator. Mike Mazzulli seems to love to drug test me because every time I fight in Connecticut or somewhere he's commissioning, I get drug tested. It's not random at this point. I don't want to make allegations like that, but at least it doesn't seem like it. I've never failed a drug test, and I think there's a reason why." Rosta then went off on former two-time title challenger Edwards, and plans on crushing his championship dreams. "This guy, he's a gatekeeper," Rosta said. "I told him before, I said to him, 'How does it feel in July to watch two men that beat the sh*t out of you – Johnny Eblen twice and Costello van Steenis once, fight for a title that you'll never touch?' Then I told him, 'I'll do you another favor, Thursday night I'll beat you, and then at the end of the year, you get to watch the same thing over again.' Two guys that beat you fight for a belt you're never going to f*cking touch."

Cowboys' Micah Parsons gets $26.5 million contract update from ESPN's Adam Schefter

Cowboys' Micah Parsons gets $26.5 million contract update from ESPN's Adam Schefter originally appeared on The Sporting News The Dallas Cowboys open the NFL season two weeks from Thursday against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. It's still unclear whether Micah Parsons will be on the field, or if his contract negotiations and trade request will lead him elsewhere. On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter joined The Pat McAfee Show to share what he expects to happen. Here's some of what Schefter had to say: "It feels like they're gonna put up with each other this year. And then, the Cowboys are gonna have the franchise tag and put the franchise tag on him, and then next offseason would be the offseason of the Micah trade. That one, of all the scenarios, feels to be the most logical today." MORE: Meet "Bill," the Commanders' rookie running back gaining acclaim out of nowhere Over The Cap projects the franchise tag for a defensive end next offseason to be worth $26.535 million. That value won't make Parsons happy. He's worth more than $40 million per year on the open market. But if Parsons does indeed play out the 2025 season on the last year of his current deal, the only logical thing for Dallas to do next offseason is give him the franchise tag (assuming they don't agree to a real extension with one another). The Cowboys can't let Parsons get away for free. Using the franchise tag allows them to keep him under their control until potentially finding a trade partner. MORE: Anthony Richardson decision is Colts' latest failure to recover from Andrew Luck Schefter's speculation could create some awkwardness this year, though. If Parsons is truly unhappy but can't land an extension now, his only real choice is to play out the campaign while being a bit ticked off. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones probably wouldn't mind that as long as Parsons is on the field. But if this is really what happens, it likely means the saga in Dallas is a long ways from over.
