艾美獎入圍/《魷魚遊戲》全槓龜!《人生切割術》27項居冠、《混沌少年時》童星創紀錄

Yahoo4 days ago

HBO's ‘Harry Potter' Reveals First Costumed Photo; Casts Neville and Dudley

HBO has started production on its Harry Potter TV series and added to its cast — plus released the first photo of young Dominic McLaughlin in costume as Harry Potter. The show has begun filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, U.K. More from The Hollywood Reporter Natasha Henstridge, Joshua Close Join Josh Hartnett in Netflix Newfoundland Series (Exclusive) Emmys: HBO and Max Score Most Nominations, Apple Takes a Big Bite 'The Last of Us' Season 2 Just Scored a Bunch of Emmy Nominations In addition, the production announced a few more castmembers playing key roles: Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. And here's the photo of McLaughlin as Harry: HBO's plan is to adapt each of J.K. Rowling's global best-selling novels into a season of television. The project has previously announced actors for nearly all of the key characters in Rowling's first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Emmy winner John Lithgow (Conclave) takes on the critical role of Hogwarts' wise and warm Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. Oscar nominee Janet McTeer (Ozark) has the role of stern Transfiguration Professor Minerva McGonagall. Paapa Essiedu (Black Mirror) will take on the role of the sneering Potions Professor Severus Snape. Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) will play the lumbering Hogwarts gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid. The core kids' cast feature McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The cast also includes Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge. In addition, stage actor Luke Thallon will play Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse (Harry & Paul) has been cast as the curmudgeonly caretaker Argus Filch. Francesca Gardiner is showrunner and executive producer, and Mark Mylod is the director of multiple episodes and executive producer. The series is executive produced by Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films. ‘The Last of Us' Season 2 Just Scored a Bunch of Emmy Nominations

The Last of Us season two might have divided fans, but the new episodes were clearly a hit with Television Academy voters. HBO's post-apocalyptic drama earned 16 Emmy nominations on Tuesday morning. While that's fewer than the first season's 24 noms, it still represents a terrific haul. More from The Hollywood Reporter HBO's 'Harry Potter' Reveals First Costumed Photo; Casts Neville and Dudley Billy Joel HBO Documentary Trailer Highlights Classical Music to "Uptown Girl" Journey Amid "Hard Lessons": "Life Is a Fight" Larry David Returning to HBO With Obamas-Produced Sketch Series Perhaps the most interesting nomination is that Pedro Pascal was nominated for best actor. While Pascal's performance was widely praised, his character Joel had very limited screen time, appearing in only three of the season's seven episodes. The nomination is similar to Brian Cox's nomination for the final season of HBO's Succession, where his character was killed off in the season's third episode. Star Bella Ramsey was nominated for best actress for their portrayal of Ellie for the second season in a row. Plus, the show was also nominated for best drama. Several other actors scored Emmy guest actor noms: Joe Pantoliano as Eugene, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and Catherine O'Hara as Gail. The other Emmy nominations for The Last of Us include best production design, casting, picture editing, contemporary makeup, prosthetic makeup, music supervision, nonfiction short (for a making-of documentary), sound editing, sound mixing and special visual effects. Some snubs include Isabela Merced's performance as Gina, the writing categories and the directing categories (particularly Mark Mylod, who helmed the season's second episode, 'Through the Valley,' which was the episode submitted for four of the received nominations). Here's a list of nominations in key categories for the 77th annual Emmy Awards. 24 Experiences Only Millennials Understand

As someone who grew up in the Millennial era, I know all about the experiences our generation went through far too well. Reddit user uselessZZwaste recently asked, "What's one thing millennials did back in the day that today's generation would think was wild?!" Here are the hilariously relatable responses that'll instantly bring you back to those days: "What's your screen name?" "Get off the internet, I need to make a call." "T9 texting." "Checking the movie times in the newspaper." "Printing out driving directions on MapQuest." "Prank calls." "Writing letters to each other and trading them between classes vs. texting." "Waiting for Netflix to send the movies we wanted by mail." "Failing to reach the home phone before it stops ringing, and just sitting there wondering who made the call." "Knocking on someone's door to ask if they wanted to do something." "Having to get to a movie theater way early if you wanted to see a new movie, and hoping there were seats together." "Going out to meet friends at a place you pre-decided on at school the previous day. Not knowing if they'll be there when you arrive." "We paid for texts." "The internet chatrooms. Oh my lord." "Burning CDs for friends or having to use a converter to play your CD on a vehicle's cassette player. Going to a physical store to read video game magazines with walkthroughs, guides, and get rumors of cheat codes from the employees and patrons." "Going to the library to read books and find quotes for essays. Going to multiple libraries to find books that didn't exist in your local library." "Asking a random girl for her number, or else you may never see her again. No social media, nothing else. And then, upon calling that number (which was a house number), you had to introduce yourself to her parents over the phone because they were most likely to answer." "Downloading paid ringtones. The first rollout wasn't even the actual song, just a melody created by the phone's chirps and beeps." "Getting dropped off somewhere with enough money to use the payphone. Once." "The look on my kids' faces every time I tell them we had to type out the citations/bibliography for a paper or project. They've had citation generators their whole lives." "The innocence of not always having someone know your location and not always knowing someone else's location." "Memorizing phone numbers." "Explaining commercial breaks and TV schedules to my preschooler is always a doozy. Also, VHS tapes make NO sense to him." "Be kind, rewind." What's the wildest thing millennials did back in the day?
