Is Jill Biden really a 'doctor'? Her education background explained amid Trump Jr.'s cancer cover-up allegation
Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with high-grade prostate cancer, according to an official statement released by his personal office on Sunday.
"Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms," the statement issued by his office read. 'On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone. While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.'
The announcement prompted an outpouring of support from public figures who extended their wishes for a swift recovery. However, Donald Trump Jr., son of President Donald Trump, has shared an X post questioning how "Dr. Jill Biden" had not detected the cancer earlier.
'What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???' Trump Jr asked.
This was in response to a post by Dr. Steven Quay, CEO of breast cancer prevention company Atossa Therapeutics. Dr. Quay claimed that prostate cancer is "easiest cancer to diagnose when it first starts," and that 'even, with the most aggressive form, it is a 5-7 year journey without treatment before it becomes metatstatic."
Trump Jr's post sparked confusion, particularly regarding Jill Biden's credentials.
While Donald Trump Jr's X post seemed to accuse Jill of medical negligence despite holding a doctorate, the former first lady's education credentials reveal that she holds a doctorate degree in the field of education leadership and not oncology. The archives of the Presidential Library acknowledge her with having completed her Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Delaware, followed by pursuing a Master of Education degree from West Chester University and a Master of Arts in English degree from Villanova University.
Jill finally earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in educational leadership from the University of Delaware in 2007. The prefix 'Dr' comes from her possessing a professional doctoral degree in applying research to resolve problems in educational settings rather than any ties with the field of medicine.
The revelation of Biden's cancer diagnosis sparked widespread debate on social media, with some users speculating about a potential cover-up by the White House regarding his health during his time in office. Much of the scrutiny was directed at his physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden. However, many also came to Jill Biden's defense.
Meanwhile, several prominent figures, including Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, Marco Rubio, and Hillary Clinton, shared messages of support and well-wishes for Biden's health and recovery.

RTE admissions: English medium schools have highest number of vacant seats
Ahmedabad: An analysis of the data of admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) shows that English medium schools had the highest number of vacant seats this year. This was the result of parents' preference for specific English medium institutions, coupled with the 6 km radius restriction, said experts. The third round of RTE admissions revealed 6,946 unfilled seats out of the total 94,798 seats, with 4,238 in English medium schools, predominantly in urban areas. The first two phases saw the allocation of seats to 93,270 students, with 85,744 confirming their admission within the deadline. Besides English medium, 624 seats in Gujarati medium, 1,919 in Hindi medium, and 165 in other mediums remained vacant after the third round of RTE admissions. According to Ahmedabad city district education officer (DEO) Rohit Chaudhary, parents prefer certain schools for English medium education. Gujarat State School Management Board president Bhaskar Patel stated that this trend was also observed due to the increasing demand for English medium education, but with a focus on select institutions. Parents consistently avoid certain schools, resulting in vacancies. During the third round of RTE admissions, seats were allocated to 2,231 additional children in Class 1 at private schools. At the end of the second round, 9,157 seats remained vacant, with over 31,000 applicants choosing new schools while 51,000 continued with their initial preferences. After the third round allocation on Friday last, 6,946 seats remained unfilled. Students must confirm their admission by June 13. The education department aims to accommodate 25% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds in private primary schools under RTE. For 2025-26, 9,814 unaided primary schools offered 94,798 seats across various medium.

Two New Classrooms Inaugurated at Moodbidri Government School Under State Development Scheme
Moodbidri: In a boost to public education infrastructure, two newly constructed classrooms at the Government Upgraded Higher Primary School, Moodbidri Main, were inaugurated on Tuesday by Karnataka MLA Umanatha A. Kotian. The construction was funded under the State Development School Scheme (Vikas Shaale Yojane) for the year 2022–23, at a cost of ₹27.8 lakh. Addressing the gathering, Kotian emphasised that economic hardship should never deprive children of their right to education. 'There is no reason to look down upon government schools. Many who studied in these institutions have gone on to occupy prominent positions in society,' he said. He also called on parents to support and strengthen government schools in their communities. Speaking to teachers, Kotian urged them to provide quality education and instil strong values in students, helping raise their academic and moral standards. M. Bahubali Prasad, president of the MCS Society and a long-time supporter of the school, requested the MLA to facilitate the construction of three additional classrooms. He noted that the Moodbidri Main School — a 156-year-old institution that offers both Kannada and English medium instruction from grades 1 to 8 — is the only government school of its kind in the area. Kotian responded positively, offering an assurance to consider the request favourably. TMC MP Saket Gokhale publicly apologises to ex-diplomat, 10 months after Delhi HC order
Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale on Tuesday issued a public apology to former diplomat Lakshmi Puri in compliance with a July 2024 Delhi High Court order about a series of defamatory comments that he had posted on social media in 2021. In the apology, Gokhale said that a series of tweets that he put about Puri on June 13, 2021 and June 23, 2021 contained 'wrong and unverified allegations' about property that she had purchased. — Saket Gokhale MP (@SaketGokhale) June 9, 2025 In July 2024, the Delhi High Court ruled that Gokhale made 'incorrect, false and untrue' allegations about Puri, including claims that she had purchased property in Switzerland with disproportionate assets. Puri had sued Gokhale, alleging that his social media posts were 'defamatory, malicious and based on false information'. In its verdict, the court had ordered Gokhale to apologise in a leading English daily and on his X handle. He was also directed to pay Rs 50 lakh in damages. Gokhale subsequently sought to recall the July 2024 order, arguing that it was issued ex parte, or in his absence, after his counsel stopped appearing. Meanwhile, Puri approached the High Court to demand that the order be enforced. She also filed a contempt of court case against Gokhale for not complying with the order. In response, Gokhale's lawyer proposed submitting an apology in a sealed cover until his plea challenging the High Court's order was decided. However, Justice Anish Dayal on May 9 dismissed the request and ordered Gokhale to issue a public apology in two weeks – or by May 23. After repeated non compliance, on May 28, the court issued a show cause notice to Gokhale asking why he should not be sent to jail for failing to comply with its orders. 'If you don't publish then we will issue orders of detention,' the court had said. Puri, a former assistant secretary-general at the United Nations and wife of Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri, had filed the defamation case in 2021. She argued that her reputation was tarnished by Gokhale's 'reckless and false allegations' regarding an apartment in Geneva. Gokhale had questioned how Puri could afford the property on her income as a former Indian Foreign Service officer on deputation to the UN Conference on Trade and Development. He had also tagged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in his posts, calling for an Enforcement Directorate inquiry in the matter.
