Orlando Pirates announce EIGHTH departure!

Orlando Pirates have just confirmed their eighth player exit.
Orlando Pirates squad revamp is well underway.
Initially, the Bucs released SEVEN players. However, this number has grown to eight following the decision to loan out this star.
Pirates released Innocenet Maela, Miguel Timm, Thabiso Monyane and Paseko Mako.
Thereafter, Phillip Ndlondlo and Monnapule Saleng (loan) made their way out of Naturena.
More recently, Mohau Nkota and Goodman Mosele's departures have been confirmed. So, Nkota has made his way to Saudi Arabia. Whilst, Mosele has been loaned out.
'Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached for the permanent transfer of Mohau Nkota to Ettifaq Club in the Saudi Pro League,' Pirates confirmed in a statement.
Mosele joins PSL rivals, Chippa United on loan.
'He's not the only one from Pirates that will be loaned to Chippa, but I can tell you for sure that Goodman has been shipped to Chippa. I'm not sure what this means for his future going forward if he does well, because at 25, age is still on his side,' the insider stated on Phakaaati .
Meaning, he is the second Bucs player to be loaned out. He follows in the footsteps of Monnapule Saleng who has been loaned out to Orbit College.
It will be interesting to see which other Pirates players join Chippa. As well as which Bucs stars are released under new head coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou.

PSL transfer news: Mofokeng, Coetzee, Kodisang, Mokwana

With the Premier Soccer League (PSL) set to kick off in three weeks, many teams have been active during the transfer window, working to strengthen their squads. Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have combined to sign 17 new players as they aim to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns. Both teams won a trophy last season but were unable to compete effectively against Masandawana in the league. Amakhosi and Pirates just completed their pre-season tour of Europe and will look to test their squads for the upcoming season. Sundowns have been relatively quiet since returning from the FIFA Club World Cup. The Brazilians have parted ways with Rivaldo Coetzee, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sipho Mbule, Sanele Tshabalala, Lebohang Maboe, Lucas Suárez, and Sifiso Ngobeni. Coetzee's agent, Mike Makaab, has revealed that the former Ajax Cape Town defender has recovered from injury and is ready to join any team 'I think the first thing you need to remember is that Rivaldo left Sundowns with an injury, but he has made big progress and he should be ready by August,' Makaab told FARPost. 'There is interest in the player, but at the moment, nothing has been official. We hope that we will find a club for him sooner rather than later.' Sundowns are reportedly looking to loan out Kobamelo Kodisang to a club in Portugal. The 25-year-old winger played just seven league matches for Downs last season. Mohau Nkota leaving Pirates for Saudi Arabia shocked many soccer fans. Many expected his peer, Relebohile Mofokeng, to be the only one leaving the PSL giants. The 20-year-old is still with the Buccaneers despite being linked to several European and Middle East teams. Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana is back in the country after a good season with Esperance. The former Sekhukhune United star has been linked to Chiefs, but it remains unlikely that the Tunisian will want to sell Mokwana. With the PSL starting early August, expect teams to go all out as the transfer deadline looms. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. 'I think it is good because it helps the guys in terms of confidence to end with a victory," said Ouaddou. 'I think it is good because it helps the guys in terms of confidence to end with a victory. 'For me, I was not worried because of what we have seen since the beginning here in terms of training, in terms of football and the aim to go forward to create the chances we had. 'We are going to give some rest to the players, but we are very impatient to go back to Johannesburg to play in front of our fans who are waiting for us. They want to see this new team. They want to see them play, and we can't wait to see them and play in front of them,' said Ouaddou. Victorious Orlando Pirates' dynamics shocked former LaLiga pro in their pre-season finale

Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Orlando Pirates clinched a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Granada on Saturday at the Marbella Football Centre to end their pre-season tour of Spain on a high note. The result marked a significant morale boost for the Soweto giants, who had endured a string of challenging fixtures during their training stint abroad. After four games, Pirates secured their first tour win. Granada's head coach, José Rojo Martín – a former LaLiga professional – expressed admiration for Pirates' tactics. As part of his preparation for the match, he had reviewed footage of their goalless draw against Las Palmas last Thursday. Video Player is loading. 'He was quite shocked by the dynamic of the team, the intensity, and the quantity of the players,' he noted, adding: 'He has done the research and watched the match against Las Palmas.' The match against Granada began tentatively, with both sides feeling each other out during a stop-start opening quarter. Pirates created their first real chance in the 24th minute, though Mbekezeli Mbokazi's effort drifted wide. Mbokazi, surprisingly deployed at left-back, later found himself in several attacking roles but struggled to convert his opportunities. As the first half progressed, the Buccaneers began to find their rhythm. Boitumelo Radiopane came close to breaking the deadlock, but his header lacked the power to beat Granada goalkeeper Luca Zidane. Still, Pirates showcased their attacking intent, frequently surging forward with purpose. After a nervy first half, Pirates returned with renewed determination. Goalkeeper Sipho Chaine kept them in the contest with a string of crucial saves as Granada pressed forward. Persistence eventually paid off in the 82nd minute when Patrick Maswanganyi, well positioned inside the box, calmly slotted the ball into the net to hand Pirates the lead. The goal injected fresh energy into the side, and Relebohile Mofokeng soon doubled the advantage. After slipping past the final defender, he calmly finished into an open net to secure a deserved win. The result concluded Pirates' Spanish training camp on a high, leaving them unbeaten in their final three pre-season matches. As they return to South Africa to prepare for the 2025/26 season — starting with their MTN8 title defence against Polokwane City — their performances in Spain reflect a promising synergy that supporters hope will carry into the domestic campaign.
