EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star leaked as new FUT Icon set to feature

Daily Mirror08-07-2025
Another EA FC 26 detail has been leaked, leaving very little for EA Sports to exclusively reveal later this month.
Just a few weeks after the EA FC 26 cover star was leaked, leakers have now revealed who will feature on the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover.
The EA FC 26 leaks aren't stopping, with more and more being revealed on social media about the newest EA Sports FC instalment before any official EA Sports announcements. From pre-order bonuses to new gameplay features, a bunch of EA FC 26 information is out there to be seen, and now, it seems we know who will feature on the EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover.

Leakers revealed that EA FC 25 cover star Jude Bellingham will remain on the cover for EA FC 26, but as always, two versions of EA FC 26 are being released, the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition, meaning we will get two different covers. For EA FC 25, a new Icon, Gianluigi Buffon, was included on the Ultimate Edition cover, and according to leaks, EA is going to do the same once again for EA FC 26.

EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star leaked
Reliable leaker @Fut_Scoreboard has revealed in a Tweet who the new EA FC 26 Ultimate Edition cover star will be, with Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to feature on the front of the game. If you haven't been paying attention to EA FC 26 leaks, you may be a little confused. Well, leakers revealed last month all the new Icons coming to EA FC 26 Ultimate Team, and Ibrahimovic was one of them.
Throughout his illustrious playing career, Ibrahimovic was never on the cover of any of EA's FIFA games, so if the leaks are true, this would be the Swede's debut on the front of an EA football game. This also may come as a slight shock to some, because not too long ago, Ibrahimovic was involved in a public disagreement with EA.
Back in 2020, Ibrahimovic accused EA and FIFPro in a Tweet of using his name and face without permission. The truth about what happened, and the remarks made by Ibrahimovic, had more to do with FIFPro and their backing of agent reforms, with the Swede's agent at the time - the late Mino Raiola - against the reform proposals.
But, it seems the dust has settled and Ibrahimovic is back on good terms with EA, especially if he's happy enough for his image to now be used not only in the game, but on the cover itself!

Arsenal 2 Villarreal 3: Viktor Gyokeres upstaged by £72million forgotten Gunners flop on Emirates Stadium bow

The way Gyokeres moved and his hair saw him compared to an Arsenal flop VIKTOR GYOKERES is wearing the No14 shirt made famous by Thierry Henry and the Swede is also looking to become an Arsenal legend. Unfortunately for the club's big summer signing, he had just 14 touches on his Emirates debut before being replaced in the 62nd minute, so this will not be a night he looks back with fondness. 5 Viktor Gyokeres was upstaged on his Emirates debut as Arsenal crashed to defeat Credit: AFP 5 Forgotten £72m flop Nicolas Pepe opened the scoring against his old club Credit: Getty 5 But things only got worse as Arnaut Danjuma went on to score the La Liga sides third Credit: Reuters 5 Martin Odegaard bagged a late consolation from the penalty spot but it wasn't enough to win the game in normal time Credit: AFP Play Dream Team now! Not that it really matters, obviously. If Gyokeres fires the goals to end Arsenal's role as permanent Premier League bridesmaids to clinch the title, and there is no reason why he cannot, the Swede will be forgiven if he takes time to adjust in north London. On the night all eyes were on the new arrival from Sporting Lisbon, absolutely no-one had taken any notice of Villarreal's Nicolas Pepe. So while we all expected an expensive signing by Arsenal to score, you would not have had any money on it being £72m Arsenal flop Pepe. Villarreal's Ivory Coast international scored the first goal and Karl Etta Eyong made it 2-0 before new arrival Christian Norgaard scored with a header. Yet while we have spent the last few weeks talking about the need of a top striker, Mikel Arteta's team will have to defend better than this, and sub Arnaut Danjuma made it 3-1 before Martin Odegaard pulled one back from the penalty spot. Villarreal then won a penalty shoot-out 4-3 with another new arrival, Noni Madueke, missing the decisive spot-kick. Gyokeres, who cost £8.5million less than Pepe, made his club debut as a 77th minute substitute against Spurs in Hong Kong but was given a heroes' welcome at a packed Emirates. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK If Arsenal are to get the best out of their new all-singing, all-dancing goal machine, they will have to give him more ammunition. Equally, Gyokeres did not have a proper pre-season as he barely trained in Lisbon. Arsenal's 2025-26 third kit 'leaked' and fans absolutely love it He will soon be in better shape and has another run-out on Saturday against Athletic Bilbao. Gyokeres tried to score his first goal in spectacular style but failed to connect with an attempted bicycle kick from Bukayo Saka's cross and he had few other chances. In terms of the way he moves and the fact has blonde hair, it was a bit like having Nicklas Bendtner back at the Emirates although it is safe to say Gyokeres will do a bit better than the cocky Dane. Arteta also gave second half Emirates debuts to Christhian Mosquera, Martin Zubimendi, keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke. Yet the comedy moment of the night was Pepe opening the scoring from close range and then refusing to celebrate. Pepe arrived from Lille for that massive amount in 2019 and scored just 27 goals in 112 appearances before joining Trabzonspor on a free transfer in 2023. Many Arsenal fans probably did not realise that Pepe was even playing in this fixture although there was a mixture of jeers and applause when his name was read out after scoring. Etta Eyong scored at the far post for 2-0 before former Brentford captain Norgaard pulled one back with a far post header before the break. The biggest roar of the night came just after the hour when 15-year-old Max Dowman was unleashed. Villarreal caught Arsenal on the break with former Bournemouth forward Danjuma making it 3-1 before Dowman won a penalty and Odegaard, who replaced Gyokeres, got Arsenal's second. There was still a shoot-out although Madueke saw his shot saved with one fan shouting: 'send him back to Chelsea.' Meanwhile, Arsenal - yet again - have fitness concerns. Both defender Riccardo Calafiori, who suffered an injury on the tour, along with Kai Havertz, were missing from the squad.

Arsenal encounter Viktor Gyokeres issue as Max Dowman makes new statement to Mikel Arteta

ARSENAL 2-3 VILLARREAL: Viktor Gyokeres' first Gunners start ended in dissappointmnet as Spanish side Villarreal picked up a morale-boosting win at the Emirates Arsenal were itching for their glitzy big-money signing to grab a goal - and after 17 minutes, Nicolas Pepe showed Viktor Gyokeres how it was done. The great irony of it all was that Pepe, considered one of the Gunners' biggest flops following his £72million switch from Lille, arguably looked sharper than Gabriel Martinelli. ‌ The Brazilian is facing a make-or-break campaign in north London and it's already clear the understanding between Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gyokeres will require time. That said, the former Sporting striker did show an early glimpse of what Mikel Arteta's side have been missing in recent seasons inside the opening 30 seconds. ‌ It did not end in a goal but there was a huge roar of anticipation when the bullish Swede burst into the box and attempted to square an early cutback. Not only is he 6ft 2' but the £63.7million frontman is square-shouldered and has pace to burn. ‌ Kai Havertz, who was a notable absentee against Villarreal, thrives in between the lines but if Gyokeres' Emirates debut is anything to go by; Arsenal fans can expect pure determination, power and a hunger to score goals. He pressed the Spaniards' backline and goalkeeper aggressively and did not afford them a moment's peace. But to get the best from Gyokeres, Arsenal will need to create him both chances and space. Here, he had neither. There were a few minor openings and one wild swing at an overhead kick but Villarreal's backline was camped inside their box. At times, it felt like the same old story as Martinelli continually ran down blind alleys. Villarreal were two goals to the good when Etta Eyong tapped home a second from close range. Christian Norgaard netted his first Arsenal goal with a back-post header from a corner before ex-Tottenham forward Arnaut Danjuma added a third for the visitors. Fifteen-year-old Max Dowman was spectacular upon entering the field on 60 minutes with his immaculate footwork and dribbling. He won a penalty converted by Martin Odegaard and already looks like a Premier League-ready star. His close control, deft touches and explosiveness was a breath of fresh air. He cannot play in the Champions League until his 16th birthday but we are likely to see him make his top-flight debut very soon. Arteta isn't afraid to hand Hale End gems minutes as Ethan Nwaneri made his Premier League bow at just 15 years and 181 days old. Dowman may not break that record but there is no shame in that. This kid is special and is going right to the very top. It's just a shame he plays in the same position as his idol Saka.

Viktor Gyokeres flatters to deceive as former star haunts Arsenal

ARSENAL 2-3 VILLARREAL Viktor Gyokeres made his first start in Arsenal colours as the Gunners geared up for the new season with a home friendly against Villarreal Arsenal continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 defeat against Villarreal, though there were some causes for optimism. The match brought a first Gunners start for Viktor Gyokeres after his big-money move from Sporting CP, but the striker wasn't able to mark the occasion with a goal. ‌ Nicolas Pepe came back to haunt his former club, with his shot possibly clipping team-mate Karl Etta Eyong on its way into the Gunners net. Bukayo Saka threatened a quick leveller, forcing a low save from goalkeeper Luiz Junior after cutting inside, but Eyong doubled the visitors lead when he followed up after a big David Raya save. ‌ Christian Norgaard got one back for the Gunners, but it was Villarreal who led at the break. Mikel Arteta changed things up at the break. with Norgaard making way for Martin Zubimendi and fellow new boy Cristhian Mosquera coming on for Ben White. ‌ A further flurry of changes appeared to disrupt Arsenal's momentum, and Arnaut Danjuma restored the visitors' two-goal advantage. Martin Odegaard reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, but Arsenal couldn't find a third - despite Dowman continuing to pose a threat as he continues his impressive pre-season. Arsenal have one more friendly, against Athletic Club in the Emirates Cup on Saturday, before beginning their Premier League campaign against Manchester United eight days later. Here are Mirror Football 's talking points from the Gunners' penultimate pre-season game. 1. Gyokeres still getting into gear After a brief run-out from the bench against Tottenham, Gyokeres had a chance to show what he can do from the get-go. The Swede showed flashes, but will have to wait to open his account for his new club. There was a half-chance inside the first 15 minutes, only for Gyokeres to fail to bring the ball under his spell as a cross came in from the right. The Gunners were clearly keen to attack down the flanks early on, with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka providing an obvious threat. He found a proper sight of goal around the hour mark, forcing a smart save from Luiz Junior with a powerful effort from the edge of the six-yard box. That was his last chance, though, with his evening coming to an end after an hour. ‌ 2. Pepe scores on return There will be a fair few Arsenal fans hoping Gyokeres makes a bigger impact than fellow big-money signing Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian winger cost more than £70m from Lille back in 2019, but ended up leaving for nothing and is now on Villarreal's books. He looked up for the game, perhaps keen to show his old employers what they were missing. There was even a muted celebration after he helped the ball into the home net early on. ‌ A little later on, the more frustrating side of Pepe was on show as he tried to run at Myles Lewis-Skelly but was watched well by the youngster. Despite that early goal, Lewis-Skelly got the better of the direct duels between the pair - though Pepe will surely chalk it up as a personal victory after finding the net. 3. Norgaard up and running Gyokeres wasn't the only Arsenal new boy to start the match. Christian Norgaard's arrival came with a little less fanfare, but he got the nod to play alongside Mikel Merino in the middle. ‌ The Danish midfielder wasn't signed for his goal threat, but he won't have been complaining. Just a few minutes after Villarreal got their second, Norgaard arrived late to head home a Martinelli corner at the back post. Martinelli should take just as much credit for his deep delivery. It looks like those discussions of the Gunners' set piece provess won't go away just yet. 4. Kiwior caught out ‌ With Gabriel working his way back to full fitness, Jakub Kiwior partnered William Saliba at the back. And he didn't have his proudest moment for the opener. The Polish defender looked to use his strength to hold off the threat of Eyong and Pepe as the Gunners failed to clear their lines. Sometimes, though, a more simple clearance can be the better option. It didn't get a great deal better after Gabriel's arrival, with former Spurs star Danjuma rounding off a quick counter-attack. Arteta will hope it was a case of getting sloppy defending out of their system. ‌ 5. Nwaneri sends reminder as Dowman shines again Ethan Nwaneri's minutes for Arsenal have largely come in an attacking role, but he started in a deeper berth on Wednesday. The youngster was essentially filling the role usually occupied by Martin Odegaard, and he showed more than enough with the ball to suggest he can do the same against certain Premier League opponents. It won't always be the right play, with more physical teams potentially able to take advantage. However, his ball-carrying from deep gives the Gunners a different option. Fellow youngster Max Dowman also got some more minutes, showing te home fans what he's all about. He didn't take long, either, drawing a foul from which Odegaard scored Arsenal's second of the evening, and a league bow looks like a matter of when not if.
