Sawant said that govt is examining the findings in the report and necessary action would be initiated against the persons responsible for the stampede.
Based on the preliminary inquiry into the stampede, govt transferred Gitte, Kaushal, Bicholim deputy SP Jivba Dalvi, Bicholim PI Dinesh Gadekar, and Bicholim deputy collector Bhimnath Khorjuvekar, with immediate effect.
Six people died and 74 others were injured in the stampede early on Saturday morning.

Three of the deceased — two women and a 16-year-old boy — were identified as 'dhonds', special devotees of the goddess. The stampede, perhaps the first in post-Liberation Goa's history, occurred on the second day of the five-day jatra that began on May 3. Some injured people continue to be admitted to the hospital for medical treatment.
The Shree Devi Lairai Devasthan committee stated on Thursday that the state administration fell short in making the necessary arrangements for the jatra.
Temple president Dinanath Gaonkar said that the procedure was delayed by the mamlatdar in making arrangements for the jatra. Gaonkar said that the committee should not be held responsible for the tragedy as it worked tirelessly.
On the day of the jatra, Gaonkar said, the mahajan urged police, who were few in number at the spot of the eventual stampede, to make one-way points for entry and exit for smooth flow. 'We informed the PSI present at the spot.
The managing committee cannot reach everywhere, but wherever the managing committee was present, the situation was controlled by us,' said Gaonkar.
The rest of the law-and-order situation has to be dealt with by the administration, he said. 'All things cannot be done by the committee,' said Gaonkar. 'It is the responsibility of the administration and the panchayat to take this seriously. Govt does not involve the village panchayat. They have not done anything, and whatever has happened is the result of this. This is what I think.'

8 fined for misuse of Rs 1.35L funds under MGNREGA in Palamu
Daltonganj: The Ramgarh block development officer (BDO) on August 14 convicted eight individuals under Section 25 of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Bansdih panchayat under Ramgarh block of Palamu on charges of misuse of over Rs 1.35 lakh govt funds and imposed fine on each of them. The convicted were identified as mukhiya Sangeeta Devi, panchayat sachiv Suraj Kumar Singh, junior engineer with MGNREGA Pankaj Kumar Singh, and rozgar sewak Ravindra Ram. Each of these four was fined Rs 1,000 under Section 25 of the MGNREGA. Also, each of the four would have to pay the outstanding recovery amount, bringing the total to Rs 28,072 per person. The rest were Mahesh Singh, Aarti Singh, Rinki Devi, and Soram Devi — beneficiaries of the Birsa Harit Gram Yojna from Peerhay village under Bansdih panchayat. The amount to be recovered from each, including the Rs 500 fine, are Rs 8,622, Rs 9,975, Rs 4,561, and Rs 5,914, respectively. The eight were ordered to deposit the amounts at the earliest. The convictions followed the detection of irregularities in the Birsa Harit Gram Yojna by James Herenj, an executive committee member of the Jharkhand Social Audit Society. They had misappropriated over Rs 1.35 lakh before the corruption was uncovered by the executive committee member." The additional district programme co-ordinator of MGNREGA in Palamu and deputy development commissioner, M Jawed Hussain, said, "The contravention has been detected and legitimate actions drawn against all the eight." Ponda councillor gets bail in forged NOCs case
Ponda: A Ponda court granted conditional bail to Ponda municipal councillor Shivanand Sawant, who was arrested on Friday over the forged no-objection certificates (NOCs) case. Sawant has been released on a personal bond with the condition of reporting to the Ponda police station for seven days to assist in the investigation. A complaint was lodged by Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) chief officer Suyash Khandeparkar on Aug 5, alleging forged NOCs issued to Alphia Maria Menezes E Rego, 40, of Silvanagar, Ponda, for water and electricity connections. Ponda police then registered an FIR against her on Aug 9. During the investigation, police found Sawant's involvement and arrested him. This was his second arrest by the Ponda police. On Jan 9, he was held for a forged income certificate. The forged NOCs came to light after a complaint was filed by Silvanagar resident Rozy Martha Rego. Rego alleged that the certificates, purportedly signed by then Municipal Engineer Uday Desai, were created to secure electricity and water connections to her house. 50-year-old man arrested for molesting minor
Rajkot: A 50-year-old milk parlour owner was arrested on Saturday for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl inside the Rajkot city police headquarters premises. The girl's father lodged a complaint at Pradyuman Nagar police station, following which the accused was booked under Section 75 of the BNS and Section 8 of the POCSO Act . According to Inspector Vikram Vasava told TOI, the girl had gone to the parlour to buy milk when the accused allegedly touched her inappropriately. The man, who had been running the parlour for over a year, was arrested soon after the complaint and will be produced in court on Monday. Police teams are collecting further evidence in the case.
