'The earlier booth level officers shall be retained, and the necessary changes be made in the ERONET system,' the order stated.
'The BLOs concerned, who joined services as per the order dated April 17, 2025, shall forthwith report back to their parent offices. The head offices/departments of the offices concerned are requested to take note of the same,' the order stated.
It further directed heads of the departments not to relieve the BLOs.
The North Goa collector, who is also the district electoral officer, stated that an inquiry was ordered under the charge of additional collector-I, North Goa, into the mass transfer of BLOs from the Panaji assembly constituency.
Elvis Gomes, earlier this month, complained about irregularities in the enrolment of voters in the Panaji constituency, alleging foreign nationals, even Nepali citizens, and people not residing in Goa were being enrolled into the electoral roll.
Gomes also complained about the mass transfer of booth level officers of the Panaji constituency.
The office of the chief electoral officer has refuted allegations of irregularities with regard to voter enrolment.

Not one claim from booth level agents of parties in 24 hours of poll roll publication

NEW DELHI: Not a single claim or objection was filed within the first 24 hours of publication of the draft electoral roll in Bihar, by any of the 1.6 lakh booth level agents (BLAs) deployed by a dozen political parties across the state's 90,712 booths. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now However, EC said 3,223 applications were received between 3pm on Aug 1 and 3pm on Aug 2, for fresh enrolment of electors turning 18 years on the cutoff dates July 1 and Oct 1, 2025. All have submitted their Form 6 with the mandatory declaration. As reported by TOI, EC, in an exercise aimed at 100% transparency, put out the first of its daily reports Saturday on the partywise claims and objections received from BLAs and resolved by the electoral registration officer or assistant ERO. As per rules, claims and objections are to be disposed of after the expiry of seven days. The update shared by the poll panel lists 'zero' claims and objections filed between 3pm on Aug 1 and 3pm on Aug 2, by the BLAs appointed by RJD, Congress, CPM, AAP, BSP, National People's Party, BJP, JD(U), CPI (ML) (Liberation), LJP (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya LJP and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party. The district election officers of all of Bihar's 38 districts had Friday shared the draft electoral roll for all 90,712 polling booths with the political parties. It also provided them the list of electors who were there in the roll as on June 24, 2025, but are not in the draft electoral roll published Friday. The absence of any claim or objection from RJD, which has 47,506 BLAs in the field, is interesting given that Saturday started with party chief claiming his name was not in the roll. The claim turned out to be incorrect as a copy of the draft roll for the relevant booth in Digha assembly constituency lists not only Tejashwi as entry no. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now 416, but also his wife Rajshree as entry no. 445. Tejashwi had earlier, while objecting to the non-inclusion of Aadhaar in list of documentation accepted under SIR, voiced the fear that his wife, who only has Aadhaar, may not be on the roll. EC on Saturday said it is not able to understand why Tejashwi is making such baseless allegations. As regards his fears regarding large-scale deletions, the poll panel said he should ask his 47,506 BLAs to file claims and objections, for which they have an entire month from Aug 1 to Sept 1. "No BLA of any political party has submitted a single case to BLOs during the last 24 hours. This, despite all BLAs having agreed to go through the boothwise draft lists given to them on August 1, carefully," said the commission. EC is meanwhile issuing advertisements in print, TV and social media to create awareness among the electors of Bihar regarding the option of filing claims and objections. It will also set up special camps in all block-cum-office circles and urban local body offices, from 10am to 5pm on all days till Sept 1. Any elector of Bihar can check his name in the draft electoral roll by filling his EPIC number directly on the EC voters' portal and can also file claims and objections.

How Election Commission plans to weed out doubtful voters in Bihar ahead of polls

The Election Commission on Friday released the draft electoral rolls for poll-bound Bihar, removing over 65 lakh names after an extensive verification exercise aimed at identifying individuals who had either died or migrated. Following the release of the draft rolls, the next phase involves a comprehensive drive to identify 'D-voters' (doubtful voters). This initiative will focus on two key identification markers and aims to clarify the status of voters flagged under suspicion first set of markers targets individuals who have either wilfully not submitted required documents or those whom Booth Level Officers (BLOs) could not trace. These include suspected ghost voters and foreign nationals lacking verifiable documents or proof of residence. Such individuals are subject to scrutiny via a claims and objections mechanism, open until September 1. This mechanism is crucial as it allows individuals to present their case and rectify any discrepancies, ensuring that only eligible voters are included.A second set comprises individuals already flagged as suspicious by local intelligence units. This group involves suspected foreign nationals, who are being assessed on their linkage to the 2003 voter list. The scrutiny focusses on cases where individuals hold documents but cannot trace their lineage to the 2003 authority for communication with identified foreign nationals has been delegated to Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). Suspected individuals are expected to receive communication requesting proof of their legal status, failing which they will be excluded from the final list by the end of election commission has identified regions where potential resistance might occur. Local leaders in these areas are actively communicating with the administration, though officials report supportive ground sentiment in efforts to identify foreign administration expects minimal large-scale pushback, which indicates a cooperative environment and community support for the has been set to first address claims and objections raised by individuals or groups questioning their status on the voter list. By mid-August, EROs are anticipated to commence formal communications with those suspected of being foreign nationals to verify their ECI, along with local administrative bodies, remains optimistic about successfully removing ineligible foreign nationals from the list before the final Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar has sparked a major controversy, with the Opposition strongly protesting the exercise, calling it an "exercise in exclusion" and a "conspiracy" to disenfranchise certain communities and sections that form its core vote bank. The issue has led to repeated adjournments in Parliament and is currently being heard by the Supreme Court.- EndsMust Watch IN THIS STORY#Bihar
