Edmonton Oilers rise from the dead, breathe life into Stanley Cup Final

Trailing 2-1 in the Stanley Cup Final and 3-0 in the second period of Game 4, the Oilers rose up with a stunning display of resilience and force that changes the entire complexion of the series.
With the while world crashing down on them after a train wreck of a first period, they shook off a seemingly-hopeless deficit, shook off Sam Reinhart's game-tying goal with 20 seconds left in the third period and took down the Panthers 5-4 in overtime.
Leon Draisaitl's one-handed shovel toward the Florida goal at 11:18 found its way in for an NHL-record fourth overtime goal of the playoffs.
And now, a series that was 40 minutes away from slipping away for good is now Edmonton's to lose — a best of three with two games in Rogers Place.
The Oilers were determined to make their stand, avenging their embarrassing 6-1 loss in Game 3 and proving they are strong enough to dethrone the Panthers.

Angels promote top prospect Christian Moore for series at Baltimore

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels promoted their top prospect, second baseman Christian Moore, ahead of Friday's game in Baltimore. He hit ninth and played second base in his debut for the Angels. Moore was the eighth overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Tennessee. Moore began his season with Double-A Rocket City and was promoted last month to Triple-A Salt Lake. He hit five homers with 32 RBIs overall in the minor leagues this season. Moore is already the fifth player from last year's draft to reach the major leaguers. He joined such standouts as Kansas City's Jac Caglianone. Moore hit .302 with 11 homers and 52 RBIs in 79 career minor-league games. He hit a Tennessee-record 34 homers last season and holds the program record with 61. The 22-year-old Moore is a Brooklyn, New York, naive and helped lead the Vols to the College World Series championship last season. ___ AP MLB:
