Visakhapatnam: Emotions ran high during the
final rites
and cremation of the mortal remains of
JS Chandra Mouli
(68), who was killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, in Visakhapatnam on Friday. Thousands of people gathered to bid a tearful farewell to the beloved banker of Visakhapatnam.
State home minister V Anitha, health minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Anakapalli MP C M Ramesh, Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, state TDP president Palla Srinivasa Rao, Jana Sena leaders, and others participated in the final rites and cremation on Friday. Neighbours, acquaintances, and the people of Visakhapatnam remembered their association with Chandra Mouli and paid floral tributes.
Speaking on this occasion, Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao condemned the terrorist attack, calling it inhumane. He expressed deep condolences to the family. "The day on which innocent lives were lost is a 'Black Day.' As soon as the incident was reported, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was deeply moved and came to Visakhapatnam, where he paid his respects to Chandramouli's body at the airport. We were sent to stand by Chandra Mouli's family in this difficult time," said Srinivasa Rao.
Earlier on Thursday night, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan visited the mortal remains at the hospital and paid tributes to Chandra Mouli. "It is time for all the people in the country to raise their voices against terrorism. The entire nation is in distress. These attacks are happening to create conflicts between different religious groups in India," said Pawan Kalyan.

In the district review committee (DRC) meeting held in Visakhapatnam on Friday, leaders and officials paid tribute to JS Chandramouli and Madhusudhan Rao from Andhra Pradesh, who lost their lives in the terrorist attack.
District in-charge minister Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Vizag MP M Sribharath, MLCs Botsa Satyanarayana and Chiranjeevi Rao, MLAs P Ganababu, Palla Srinivasa Rao, Vamsi Krishna Srinivasa, Velagapudi Ramakrishna, Vishnu Kumar Raju, VMRDA chairman Pranav Gopal, Seethamraju Sudhakar, Gandi Babji, and officials stood in silence for two minutes as a mark of respect. They expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. The in-charge minister and district collector condemned the attack and said that everyone should stand united in support of the decisions taken by the prime minister and act in a manner that promotes national unity.

Chhattisgarh gets its first 14-member cabinet, 3 BJP MLAs inducted as ministers
RAIPUR: Three BJP MLAs on Wednesday took oath as ministers in Chhattisgarh, strengthening the cabinet from 11 to 14 members, which is the highest number ever in state. Governor Ramen Deka administered oath of office and secrecy to BJP legislators Gajendra Yadav, Rajesh Agrawal and Guru Khushwant Saheb at Raj Bhavan in presence of chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, assembly speaker Raman Singh and other ministers. This is the first time in past 25 years that Chhattisgarh cabinet has got 14 members as all previous cabinets had 13 members for a 90-member assembly. After the implementation of a 15% ceiling on the total strength of assembly and adopting the "Haryana model" that has 14 ministers in 90 member assembly, Chhattisgarh too decided to have 14 members in its cabinet.
