Reading anti-social behaviour clampdown consultation opens
PSPOs give police and local authorities powers to address anti-social behaviour in public spaces.Under the plans, Thames Valley Police officers would be able to ask people drinking and causing nuisance or disorder to stop and hand over any containers believed to contain alcohol.It would also give the force more powers to stop e-bike and e-scooter riders purposely causing distress or nuisance, the council said.It would make begging subject to enforcement and it would make it an offence to not pick up after your dog. or hold your dog on a lead if ordered to."Street drinking and begging, dog fouling and proper dog control, along with the aggravated misuse of mechanically propelled micro-mobility vehicles such as e-bikes and e-scooters are all issues that are increasingly upsetting residents," said Ms Rowland.She said while a PSPO was not a "panacea to cure all those ills" it was "another very useful tool to allow officers the powers they need to halt the worst of anti-social misbehaviour that causes residents undue anxiety, nuisance or distress".

Four dead after medical plane crashes
Four people were killed when a medical transport plane crashed in northeastern Arizona on Tuesday. The plane, operated by CSI Aviation of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was en route to pickup a patient from a hospital when it crashed and caught fire near Chinle Airport at around 12.40pm. The Navajo Police Department Chinle District, Navajo EMS and Navajo Nation Fire and Rescue Services rushed to the scene, and all four people on board were pronounced dead. The victims have not yet been identified, but their next of kin have been notified about their untimely passing. In the meantime, all access to the Chinle Airport is closed as the investigation continues. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration is also en route to probe what may have caused the fatal collision. 'This is a tragic loss to the families of those onboard and to the medical air and first responder community,' the Navajo Police Department said in a statement. 'We extend our deepest condolences to their family and loved ones during this time.'

River Greta search for person in the water in Ingleton stood down
A search of a North Yorkshire river triggered by a report of a body being spotted in fast-flowing water has been stood down. Emergency services searched the River Greta in Ingleton, in the Yorkshire Dales, after North Yorkshire Police was contacted at about 14:00 BST on Monday. The force said no person was found and "extensive enquiries" for any belongings, abandoned vehicles or missing people both in the area and further afield had not led to any new information.A force spokesperson said they believed the member of the public who had reported the initial sighting had "done the right thing" and made the call to emergency services with "good intent". Fifth person charged with arson after Ferndale house fire
