LSU football makes top five for five-star offensive lineman. Are Tigers the favorite?
South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, and Ohio State also made the cut for the Richmond, VA native. He has made eight official visits since April and cut Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Georgia from his list of suitors.
247Sports is the highest on Gray, ranking him as the best prospect out of Virginia and at his position. The outlet slots him at No. 16 overall, while Rivals' Industry Rankings has him at No. 22 and No. 2 in Virginia.
The six-foot-two, 285-pounder is projected to choose LSU by Rivals, which gives him a 51.1% chance to land in Baton Rouge. At this point, the Tigers are certainly the favorite, but they must get his commitment over the finish line.
Should Gray commit to LSU, he would be the fifth offensive lineman in the class. It currently ranks sixth nationally and fourth in the SEC, per Rivals' Industry Rankings.
Gray, considered a five-star by 247Sports, would be the fifth commit in LSU's 2026 class to be ranked a five-star by at least one of the major recruiting services. LSU has a chance to land the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in college football. Landing Gray is a pivotal part of that.

Former LSU star, Orioles announcer Ben McDonald recovering after fall from deer stand
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Baltimore Orioles broadcaster and former LSU ace Ben McDonald is recovering from a serious fall after plunging 25 feet from a deer stand. McDonald shared an update from his hospital bed on social media, where he's seen surrounded by loved ones. 'This is what a severe concussion looks and sounds like,' the post read. In the video, McDonald appears confused and asks what happened. Someone off camera explains that the chain or strap broke. The fall left McDonald with a concussion and two cracked vertebrae. 'Apparently I fell out of a deer stand 25 feet up,' he said, adding, 'I'll be back in #Birdland soon calling @Orioles games!' He also thanked the doctors and everyone who reached out with support. McDonald, who starred at LSU for three seasons, pitched seven years for the Orioles and was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. Angel Reese opens up about cyberbullying from fans after 2023 national championship game
Chicago Sky All-Star Angel Reese opened up about some of the cyberbullying she's experienced since she played for the 2023 LSU Tigers women's basketball national championship team. Reese said in an interview with ESPN that she's since started a campaign to raise awareness about cyberbullying since then. "I've experienced it. It was hard for me in the beginning," Reese told ESPN's Elle Duncan. "After I won the national championship, my whole life changed, and that was the first time I had seen negativity like that on social media. I thought I had a huge following before, but it skyrocketed to millions. It was bigger than basketball when they were finding my address, my car. I had to change my whole lifestyle. "It doesn't bother me as much anymore just because I feel like I've built a thicker skin, but not everybody has a thick skin. And that's why I think players always come up to me and ask me, 'Are you OK? How are you doing?' I don't really know what's genuine, but I'm starting to open up and branch a little bit." Reese's 2023 national championship game was highlighted by her incident with Caitlin Clark. It started the on-court rivalry between the two women's basketball stars. Reese said she's gotten closer to the All-Stars on her team this year, more so than in 2024 when it was the WNBA team going up against the U.S. Olympic team before the Paris Games. "This is the closest I've been to these players this year. Last year, I wasn't that close. When I was in Phoenix (the host of the 2024 All-Star Game), I was very quiet," she explained. "I didn't talk to anybody. And that's what I really love about this league, being able to have sisters. "I don't have any sisters. Being able to have sisters here who really, really care about me and knowing I can take that and transform that into the community. There's a lot of cyberbullying going on. Not everybody is as strong as I am, and I was like, 'Why not flip a negative into a positive and give back?' I try to give back as much as I can." Reese will play in her second WNBA All-Star Game. She's averaging 14 points and 12.6 rebounds for the Sky. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Unrivaled announces NIL deals with 14 college players, including JuJu Watkins and Hannah Hidalgo
INDIANAPOLIS — JuJu Watkins, Flau'Jae Johnson and Azzi Fudd are among 14 top women's college basketball players signing NIL deals with Unrivaled, the league announced Saturday. It's the second consecutive year the 3-on-3 league that Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart founded has had name, image and likeness deals with college players. In it's inaugural season, Unrivaled had deals with Paige Bueckers and Johnson. Watkins, who plays for USC but is sidelined with an ACL injury, has been involved with Unrivaled as an investor in its Series A funding round. Johnson, who is at LSU, and Fudd, at UConn, were on hand for the announcement, as were Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo and UConn's Sarah Strong. 'Unrivaled is doing something amazing for women sports. It's a big reason why we're all here today,' Johnson said at Unrivaled's pop-up headquarters in Indianapolis. 'They're doing it in the W and really giving us a chance in college to really go at it.' Other players signed include TCU's Olivia Miles, UCLA's Kiki Rice and Lauren and Sienna Betts, Texas' Madison Booker, Iowa State's Audi Crooks, LSU's MiLaysia Fulwiley, South Carolina Ta'Niya Latson and Michigan's Syla Swords. The players range from sophomores to seniors. 'Just seeing from the first year what (the league) was able to build, you know it's only going to get better,' Fudd said. 'I'm super excited.' Women's basketball players have been able to take advantage of NIL opportunities over the last few years with Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Bueckers and Johnson at the forefront of it. Reese played in Unrivaled in its first season. As part of the initiative, the class will be attending a multiday event at the league's headquarters near Miami, which will include skill development and content shoots. 'Our job is to try to bridge the gap between the current stars that are in Unrivaled and the future stars sitting on the stage right now,' Luke Cooper, Unrivaled's president of basketball operations, said at the announcement. 'Everyone that we asked to be a part of this said yes.' Unrivaled completed its inaugural season in March and is gearing up for its second in January.
