he animated film follows Huntrix, a K-pop girl group consistiing of members Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who secretly hunt demons. Their biggest threat comes from the Saja Boys, a rival band possessed by demons aiming to destroy the Honmoon barrier using stolen fan energy.
The film's ending revealed that Rumi is half-demon, a secret she has hidden for years. In the final battle, she embraces her identity, sings a powerful solo that weakens the enemy's hold, and helps her group save the city. Jinu, the leader of the Saja Boys, sacrifices himself to protect her, leaving viewers with emotional closure and lingering questions.
Rumi's heritage remains unexplored and the Honmoon isn't fully restored amid other unresolved arcs leading viewers believe this is an intentional set-up for a sequel.
'Hear me out: this is just the beginning,' one fan posted. 'We will get either a sequel or two OR a series.' Others echoed this, noting Jinu's ambiguous fate and unfinished character arcs. 'I need a sequel or the whole ahh trilogy,' one viewer said, while another added, 'More of Celine and Rumi. Their plot was unfinished.'
In an interview with Shine On Media, the directors agreed, stating that there are 'many unanswered questions' and 'so many possibilities' for future stories.
Despite speculation however, Netflix has not yet confirmed any news about a potential part two.

Where is Xavier in 'Wednesday' Season 2? Percy Hynes White's absence explained following scandal
Wednesday season 2 has officially arrived on Netflix, and the show has addressed the absence of Xavier Thorpe, previously played by Percy Hynes White. Xavier, a key character in the first season and romantic interest of Wednesday Addams, is confirmed to have transferred to Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland. Principal Dort, played by Steve Buscemi, informs Wednesday of Xavier's move during the first episode. A letter from Xavier later reaches her, referencing one of his psychic visions connected to the mystery at Nevermore. It reads: 'Consider this my goodbye gift… Don't ask me how I know or what it means, but it's connected to you, I'm sure.' Percy Hynes White confirmed earlier this year that he would not return for season 2, writing, 'I had so much fun working on this show. I can't wait to watch season 2 :) Much love.' While no formal reason was shared by the production, his departure follows accusations of sexual assault made in 2023 on X. The post, now deleted, accused the actor of misconduct at a party. Hynes White denied the claims, calling them 'a campaign of misinformation' and stated that the rumours were false. Meanwhile Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 of which is now streaming on Netflix, also features cast additions, including Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, and Billie Piper.

VMAs 2025 criticised over 'Best K-Pop' nominees as Lisa's 'Born Again' sparks fan backlash
The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) nominations have ignited controversy among K-pop fans following the announcement on August 5. Many expressed frustration over BLACKPINK's Lisa being nominated in the 'Best K-Pop' category for her track "Born Again", which features American and British artists Doja Cat and Raye and contains no Korean lyrics. Fans argued the all-English song should have been considered under 'Best Pop' or 'Best Collaboration'. One fan remarked, 'this is actually disrepectful and racist.' Another added, 'They want to cage lisa in that k-pop catagory so bad… when song is in english and the artists are from Uk, Us and Thailand.' Compounding the discontent was the absence of BTS members j-hope and Jin, despite their successful solo releases. Tracks like "Don't Say You Love Me", "Running Wild", "Killin' It Girl", and "Mona Lisa" were overlooked. Fans highlighted their chart success and international appeal, questioning the selection process: The backlash extended to other artists like LE SSERAFIM and BLACKPINK's Jennie, whose viral choreography for Like Jennie was ignored in dance categories. The full list of 'Best K-Pop' nominees includes Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, Jimin, aespa, Stray Kids, and Rosé, with Rosé earning multiple general category nominations alongside Bruno Mars for "APT".
