2047 vision, ‘four-S' plan for infra: CM presents ‘Developed Delhi' roadmap at NITI Aayog meeting
Delhi was among 24 states and seven union territories (UTs) that participated in the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, which serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Central government, at Bharat Mandapam. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
'Looking ahead to 2047, the Chief Minister outlined a clear vision: access to nutritious food, clean drinking water, inclusive and quality education, universal healthcare, skill development, high-tech research, waste-free ecosystems, and heritage conservation. The Delhi government is actively pursuing these goals,' said the Chief Minister's office (CMO) in a statement.
The Chief Minister stressed that top-quality public infrastructure is the foundation for holistic development, which the city government is pursuing through a 'four-S' approach: Scope, Scale, Speed, and Skill. 'Seamless connectivity and smart surveillance are central to redefining Delhi's urban identity,' said officials, quoting her.
Taking a potshot at the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Gupta, ahead of the meeting earlier in the day, said in a post on X , 'Today, after many years, we are going to represent Delhi in the Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog. Due to the conduct of the previous irresponsible governments, the issue of Delhi's rights was not being raised in the commission meeting, but now, the double-engine (BJP) government is on track.'
'..We will present our roadmap for a viksit (developed) Delhi for a developed India to the heads of all the states of the country. Today, we will also present the aspirations and expectations of the people of Delhi for the development of Delhi before the Niti Aayog,' she added.
After the meeting, the CM said that her government's top priority is to clean Yamuna, enhance infrastructure, and provide direct tap water to all households. She thanked PM Modi for his full support and cooperation on this issue.
Officials also said that the CM highlighted her vision for making Delhi pollution-free. Besides, the CM outlined the government's ongoing projects and its work in different sectors like implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, procurement of new electric buses under DEVI scheme, implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, installation of 40 STPs, and other key projects.
On cleaning Yamuna, Gupta sought support from the Centre and neighbouring states to collectively restore the river's glory.
The Chief Minister further announced that Delhi will soon host its first-ever 'Investor Summit' under the leadership of PM Modi, unlocking investment opportunities and placing Delhi firmly on the global investment map.
The government also eyes developing a new tourism circuit and strengthening support for Start-up India and Stand-up India, two separate but related government initiatives in India focused on promoting entrepreneurship and economic growth, said officials.
'With the guidance of our visionary PM and support from NITI Aayog, we are not just building a clean, inclusive, and empowered Delhi by 2047, but also positioning it as a global model for urban governance,' the CM said.
Meanwhile, in another post on X, she said, 'We are fully committed to establishing Delhi's role not only as a supporting but also as a pillar in realising the vision of a developed India. This is not merely a development plan but a national campaign towards fulfilling the dreams, possibilities, and building a strong India for the coming generations, and it is a matter of pride for all of us to be a part of it.'
'Delhi is now playing a leading role in development under the guidance of the Prime Minister,' she added.

New single-window system for Ramleela NOCs in Delhi soon: CM
All permissions for organising Ramleela events in Delhi will now be processed at the district level through the district magistrate's office, chief minister Rekha Gupta announced on Wednesday. A single-window system is being set up to expedite the issuance of all required no-objection certificates (NOCs). Delhi hosts around 600 performances annually, 100 of which are large-scale. Gupta said the move will address long-standing issues faced by organisers, including delays in securing land and obtaining approvals. This year, Ramleela performances will be held from September 22 to October 2. Delhi hosts around 600 performances annually, 100 of which are large-scale. Gupta announced that the security deposit for land has been reduced from ₹20 to ₹15 per sq. metre and that the area allotted for entertainment spaces will be 40% of the total, up from 25%. To resolve disputes over rides and food stalls, a committee comprising a deputy director-level DDA officer and two members of the Delhi Ramleela Federation has been formed, with authority to coordinate across departments. Most events will also have ambulances deployed for emergencies, she said. Gupta added that organisers had recently met her to highlight challenges, which she claimed have been addressed. In a separate meeting with heads of government departments, Gupta directed that all ongoing development projects in Delhi be completed on schedule. She said adequate budgetary support is available and the Centre is fully backing the 'Developed Delhi' vision. The CM also urged full utilisation of the e-office system and stressed that no project should be obstructed. Gupta further instructed that the e-office system be strengthened and utilised to its full potential, stressing that no development work should face obstruction under any circumstances.

Modi likely to visit US for UNGA meet in Sept
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address the annual high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September, according to a provisional list of speakers issued by the United Nations. The 80th session of the UNGA will open on September 9. The high-level General Debate will run from September 23-29, with Brazil as the traditional first speaker of the session, followed by the US. US President Donald Trump will address world leaders from the iconic UNGA podium on September 23, his first address to the United Nations session in his second term in the White House. According to the provisional list of speakers for the high-level debate of the 80th session of the General Assembly, India's 'Head of Government (HG)' will address the session on the morning of September 26. The Heads of Government of Israel, China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are also scheduled to address the UNGA general debate on the same day. Modi had travelled to the US in February this year for a bilateral meeting with Trump in the White House in Washington. In a joint statement issued after their meeting, Modi and Trump had announced plans to negotiate the first tranche of a mutually beneficial, multi-sector Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) by the fall of 2025.

PM Modi To Visit US For High-Level UNGA Session In September
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in the high-level United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session and address it on September 26, according to the preliminary programme. This will be a milestone meeting for the UN, which turns 80 this year and the General Assembly's theme is "Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights". A high-level meeting will be held on September 22 to commemorate the 80th anniversary. The next day, the regular high-level sessions will start with the first address, as per tradition, by Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. He will be followed by US President Donald Trump. Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Xi Jinping of China will not be attending the high-level session. Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, and Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran are on the list of speakers. In the September 26 morning session that starts at 9 a.m. (6:30 p.m. in India), PM Modi will be preceded by Prime Ministers Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Li Qiang of China, and Keir Starmer of Britain. Prime Ministers Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, K.P. Sharma Oli of Nepal, and Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan are pencilled in later that session. Bangladesh's "prime minister" is listed as the morning session's last speaker, and it will likely be Muhammad Yunus, who styles himself as the Chief Advisor to the caretaker government set up after the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. PM Modi's address this year will be his seventh to the General Assembly's high-level session.
