In a remarkable turn of events during the ongoing Youth Test Series in England, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has etched his name into the history books. The first 4-day Test match between India Under 19 and England Under 19 ended in a draw, but it was notable for the sheer volume of runs scored, breaking a 34-year-old world record. This record, set before Suryavanshi's birth, now sees his name featured in a new world record.
The teams combined to score a staggering 1497 runs in the match, setting a new benchmark for runs in a Youth Test match. The previous record, set 34 years ago, stood at 1430 runs and was made in a match between Australia and England in Chelmsford in 1991.
In the match held in Beckenham, both teams hit a total of 15 sixes, adding another record to the historic game. India amassed 748 runs across both innings, including 10 sixes, while England scored a total of 705 runs with 5 sixes.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, although dismissed for 14 runs in the first innings, showcased his talent with a half-century in the second innings, contributing 70 runs with 12 fours and a six. Additionally, he took two wickets, proving his all-round capabilities.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, having earned Rs 20,000 per match from the BCCI, has accumulated Rs 1 lakh from the five ODIs and Rs 20,000 from the first Test, with expectations to earn a total of Rs 1.4 lakh from the England tour. His participation in the second Test seems assured, and fans eagerly anticipate another stellar performance.
