Marco Andretti Calls Out Katherine Legge Haters
In her Cup Series debut at Phoenix earlier this season, she was involved in a crash with Daniel Suarez, sparking a conversation about whether she deserved a spot on the track.

Last weekend, the British racing driver raced in the Xfinity Series' return to Rockingham Speedway. Yet again, she caused controversy, failing to qualify for the race due to a lack of owners points. While she ended up securing a ride with another team thanks to her partnership with e.l.f. Cosmetics, many, including Jamie McMurray called her out for 'buying her way in.'

Despite the online chatter, the 45-year-old driver had a chance to prove herself on track at Rockingham. However, she was involved in an accident that started when William Sawalich drove into the rear of her lapped No. 53 car, which got sideways and slid down the track directly into the path of Kasey Kahne before ricocheting off the HMS car and slamming nose-first into the outside wall.
Many fans were upset with the incident, especially because it hurt Kahne's chances to run up front for the rest of the race. However, one race car driver has a message for the Katherine Legge haters.

Marco Andretti, who has competed with Legge for years in IndyCar, came to the accomplished open-wheel racer's defense.
After an X user called Legge 'unproven,' NASCAR driver Ryan Vargas pushed back and reminded the critics that she is the fastest female qualifier in Indy 500 history.
Andretti saw the tweet and added his own thoughts, writing, "It's wild to me how many grown men talk badly about bad [expletive] girls like this. Does it make them feel more manly from the couch or something?"
Legge will return to the Xfinity Series this weekend at Talladega, hoping to shut down the keyboard warriors once and for all.

Matt Crafton To Retire From Full-Time Nascar Craftsman Truck Series Racing
Three-time Nascar Craftsman Truck Series champion Matt Crafton is set to retire from full-time racing at the end of the 2025 season. Crafton, who's competed with ThorSport Racing for the majority of his career, will step down as the driver of the No. 88 truck. Ty Majeski, who won the Truck Series title in 2024, will move from the No. 98 entry to the No. 88 truck. Crafton won back-to-back championships in 2013 and 2014, along with the 2019 title, a year in which he didn't win a race. He has 15 career victories, all of which have come with ThorSport Racing. His last victory came at Kansas Speedway in July of 2020. Throughout Crafton's career, he has been supported by one sponsor: Menards. His 23-year relationship with the chain is among the longest in Nascar history. This year, he only has three top 10s with an average finish of 18.3, almost seven positions lower than his career average of 11.8. Crafton made his Truck Series debut in 2000 with ThorSport Racing. He only left the team in 2004 to compete for Kevin Harvick Inc. before returning to ThorSport a year later. A rare lifetime Truck Series driver, Crafton could be a future Nascar Hall of Famer due to his success in the series. The only major Truck Series driver in the Hall of Fame is Ron Hornaday Jr., who won four titles and 51 races. Jack Sprague was nominated to be in the Hall of Fame. He won three championships, as well, but had 28 wins. Crafton never had a major opportunity to compete for wins in the Cup Series or Xfinity Series. He replaced a few drivers for qualifying sessions over the years, as well as an injured Kyle Busch in the 2015 Daytona 500, finishing 18th. He made two other Cup Series starts in 2019 and 2023. He also made three Xfinity Series starts for Richard Childress Racing in 2013, with two third-place finishes.

Cam Newton reacts to Auburn retiring his iconic No. 2 jersey
It is official. No one will ever where No. 2 again for the Auburn Tigers football program. Auburn athletics announced Monday that the No. 2 jersey, last worn by Heisman Trophy recipient and national championship-winning quarterback Cam Newton during the 2010 season, will officially be retired during a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 11, when Auburn hosts Georgia for a night game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Newton, who had one of the best offensive seasons in college football history during the 2010 season by accounting for 4,369 yards and 51 touchdowns, learned of his jersey retirement during an interview inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. Athletics Director John Cohen and Deputy Athletics Director Tim Jacobs stopped Newton mid-interview to deliver the news. "Ain't nobody going to wear No. 2 from here on out because we are retiring your number, brother," Cohen told Newton with a smile. Newton's iconic No. 2 jersey is the fourth number to be retired by Auburn football, joining No. 7 (Pat Sullivan), No. 34 (Bo Jackson), and No. 88 (Terry Beasley). Newton is thrilled to join the elite company. "Auburn will always be home to me,' Newton said in a press release.
