The Orchid Awards Ceremony 2025 Held in Beijing

The Orchid Awards Ceremony 2025 was hosted by China International Communications Group (CICG) and organized by the Orchid Awards Secretariat. Over 300 participants attended, including representatives from Chinese government departments, international organizations, diplomatic missions in China, Chinese and foreign think tanks, and the media. From July 9 to 14, the visit programs of the 2nd Orchid Awards - "Travelogue of China" - will also take place in Beijing and Harbin.

Shukla said there are many professions that require extra hours but it's wrong if one is forced to do it and doesn't get paid for it. "You cannot bind someone saying, 'You work for eight hours only'. A police officer, a traffic cop or a doctor works for more than 16 to 18 hours, even pilots and our jawans work for long hours. So, till the time it is not being forced, and you're doing it because you've agreed to, then there's no harm in it. If someone forces you and even doesn't pay you, then it's wrong,' he said. Film shootings come to halt in Hyderabad due to workers strike
Last Updated: Hyderabad, Aug 5 (PTI) Most of the film shootings in Hyderabad came to a halt with workers demanding a 30 per cent wage hike. The representatives of the workers on Tuesday met labour department officials regarding their demands. Alexander, a leader of the workers, told PTI Videos that the hike is not 30 per cent at once, but 10 per cent annually, which is due this year. However, the hike has not been effected since the last four months, he alleged. Damodar Prasad, Secretary of Telugu Film Chamber, told PTI that the workers 'unilaterally" decided two days ago to work only for producers, who pay them the increased wages though talks are on going with the involvement of the labour department. He observed that the Telugu film industry already pays higher wages to union workers than other state film industries. The stance of the producers is that talks would continue if the workers 'unconditionally" resume work, he said. Efforts were on to end the stalemate, he said, expressing confidence that the issue would be resolved soon. Producer C Kalyan told reporters that several film producers met superstar Chiranjeevi, who suggested that the issue be resolved harmoniously in another two-three days. Mohit Suri on making Saiyaara over Aashiqui 3: No pressure of sequel, opening day
'Saiyaara' director Mohit Suri recently admitted that he was initially in talks with 'Aashiqui 3' producers to develop his next movie as part of the franchise. However, he decided to step away since the producers were in a "hurry to begin" the in an interview with PTI, revealed that he was "more than glad when Anurag Basu took over." He said, "'The Aashiqui 3' thing... it was too nascent. They (the Aashiqui 3 producers) asked me if I would be interested in making it. This was the idea I had. But I don't commit to something till I have a script ready. They were in a hurry to begin, so I was more than glad when Anurag took over, but I couldn't rush the process."advertisementSuri highlighted that with 'Saiyaara', he did not have any pressure of a sequel or box office opening to live up to. "Once there was no sequel pressure or of a star cast which had an opening number to live up to, I stopped caring about the commerce. And I just went and made a film," he went on.
