Man dies after kicking train and falling between platform at Hamburg central station
The overnight incident saw the 26-year-old kicking the train as it approached the station. He then lost his balance and got trapped in the gap between the train and the platform, police said on Friday.
The man's brother was also present and witnessed the accident, according to police. He suffered from shock and was brought to hospital.
Emergency teams cleared the local train and the platform, with emergency counselling provided to 13 bystanders. Police have ruled out foul play after reviewing video footage of the incident. — Bernama-dpa

He revealed that the individual had previously been caught by MBKS security personnel, but he did not cause any harm or damages. 'However, this time, damage was done to a vehicle, so we must wait for the car owner to press charges, he added. Concerned that these homeless individuals with unsound minds may repeat their offences, he proposed a 'three-strikes' intervention policy for those who repeatedly pose a danger, while acknowledging the complexities surrounding detention and mental healthcare. 'This is where social development must take a broader perspective. A 'smart city' must also care for those who are vulnerable – not everyone is born healthy. 'As a city council, our power is limited. We can report incidents, but enforcement and long-term care fall under other agencies. 'That's why there must be a concerted effort to clearly define responsibilities, without pushing blame from one agency to another,' he added. Emphasising that prevention is key, he said mental health treatment and care need time, communication, and consistent support, unlike treating physical illness. 'Treatment often requires family involvement and long-term commitment. Many individuals resist staying in psychiatric institutions, which are not ideal living environments. 'Still, securing such individuals is often necessary to prevent them from wandering off. Caring for people with mental illness is complex and exhausting, as each patient requires personalised care, including medication, nutrition, and daily support. 'We must develop a long-term strategy to address these foreseeable problems. Organisations like the Sarawak Mental Health Association have been around for decades, yet the reintegration rate of patients into society remains low. Girl claims man deceived her into sending nude photos via Telegram
Police said the girl sent nude photographs of herself to an individual posing as a medical doctor on the social media app. IPOH : Police are investigating two reports involving a 15-year-old girl who was deceived into sending nude photographs to an individual posing as a medical doctor via the Telegram messaging application. Manjung district police chief Hasbullah Abd Rahman said preliminary investigations revealed that the girl had submitted several nude images after being misled by the suspect. He said the suspect is believed to have contacted the victim through Telegram and introduced himself as a doctor conducting remote health screenings. 'She was asked to provide personal and family details, along with several nude photographs, allegedly for cervical and breast cancer screening purposes. 'She was told that only the photographs were required and that no physical examination was necessary. The victim later realised she had been deceived and lodged a police report out of concern that the images might be leaked,' Hasbullah said in a statement today. He said an investigation paper has been opened, and the case is being investigated under Section 15(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Members of the public with information related to the case are urged to contact investigating officer Nur Munawarah at 011-1624 0391, the Manjung district police headquarters (IPD) at 05-688 6222, or the police WhatsApp hotline at 017-682 8005 to assist with the investigation. Hasbullah also advised parents and the community to stay vigilant and be better informed about current issues involving sexual crimes against children. He also advised against sharing personal information with unknown individuals, especially online. 'The public is also advised to activate the two-step verification security feature on the Telegram application as a measure to protect social media accounts and messaging platforms,' he added.

‘Justice must prevail': Kelantan urges probe to ensure nobody unfairly victimised, after cops slammed for raiding HIV outreach
KOTA BHARU, July 20 — The Kelantan government has today called for a thorough investigation, after the police was criticised for raiding an HIV outreach programme which it had alleged as a 'gay sex party'. Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamed Fadzli Hassan said in a statement that all parties must remain open-minded, and everyone must be afforded the right to justice with wisdom and fairness. 'To resolve this matter, the Kelantan state government calls for a thorough and comprehensive investigation to ensure that no party becomes a victim of misunderstanding, slander, or public judgement before the truth is fully established. 'If investigations confirm that the police's actions were justified and based on facts, stern measures should be taken against those involved,' he said in a statement here. 'Conversely, if the NGOs' and individuals' claims are proven true, corrective steps must be taken. The principle of justice must prevail,' he added. However, he insisted that anyone planning potentially controversial events to seek proper approval from authorities. He added that if participants were from outside Kelantan, this should be clarified to protect locals from undue blame. 'Transparency is essential to prevent baseless assumptions and unwarranted judgement within society,' he said. Fadzli's remark came as some locals blamed the media and the police for casting Kelantan in a bad light by falsely claiming that a 'gay sex party' had taken place in the state. On Friday, the MAC confirmed that it conducted a night outreach session here on June 17 under the Differentiated HIV Services for Key Populations model. MAC said the session was in collaboration with Kota Jembal Health Clinic and part of a strategic approach introduced by the Health Ministry. It said the session was held from 8pm to 2am and had reached over 70 high-risk individuals, with services scheduled outside office hours to improve accessibility. This comes as a coalition of civil society groups had also urged Kelantan police to revise their statement on a June 2025 raid of an alleged 'gay sex party' here, which they clarified was in fact a health outreach event. The groups, led by transgender rights advocacy group Justice for Sisters, said media reports following the raid resulted in harmful and stigmatising remarks that have intensified fear among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals seeking health services.
