Tyrhys Dolan told to give 'serious thought' to Rangers transfer as Cyriel Dessers makes feelings clear on one accolade

Daily Record20-05-2025

It is your latest update concerning all things Rangers all in one place
Tyrhys Dolan has been told if Rangers or Celtic come calling you MUST take it seriously.
The Blackburn Rovers winger has been linked with a move north of the border with his contract expiring this summer.

In the English Championship he proved seven goals and six assists across 44 games and is one that Sky pundit David Prutton believes always lookins capable of making something happen - a trait both set of supporters love to see.

Speaking to Football League World, he said: "He's a good player Tyrhys, always lively, always looks like he's capable of making something happen.
"The expectation of him when he went to Blackburn was not directly related to what his output then became, because I think they thought he was a bit of a slow burner and one for the future, but he very much got stuck in and was a big part of a squad that was very competitive in the last few Championship seasons.
"I think the frustration with them comes with falling away as and when it mattered i.e. very early spring which meant that at times, barring the final day just now, at times by the time it came to the last knockings they were just firmly and constantly in mid table.
"So I think yeah on a free, or compensation given the age of the player potentially, but Christ when one of those two [Celtic and Rangers] come knocking you've got to give it some serious thought."
Elsewhere, Cyriel Dessers has taken to social media after finishing the season as the top scorer in the Premiership.

The Rangers hitman has notched 29 goals across all competitions with 18 of those coming in the league.
He hit the 50 goal milestone in the recent win over Dundee United and while it has been a frustrating domestic campaign for the LIght Blues as a whole, there is some personal pride for Dessers as he ends the season topping the scoring charts.
He wrote on Instagram: "Scottish Premiership Top Scorer 2024-25. Not the big trophy we all wanted, but a wee reward for never giving up…"

Meanwhile, Rangers pair John Souttar and Connor Barron have been picked for Scotland.
Steve Clarke has called up the duo for the June friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein.
Nathan Patterson - now at Everton and formerly of Rangers - is also back in the fold as is Napoli star Billy Gilmour.

Belgium will be ‘shaking in boots' ahead of Wales game in Cardiff

Belgium inflicted Craig Bellamy's first defeat as Wales head coach with an extraordinary 4-3 World Cup qualifying victory in Brussels on Monday. The Red Devils, ranked eighth in the world, let slip a three-goal lead before Kevin De Bruyne spared home blushes with an 88th-minute winner. The return fixture is in Cardiff on October 13 and new Stoke signing Thomas said of Belgium: 'That's a team that is top 10. People will say 'little old Wales' but we took the game to them. 'They're going to be shaking in their boots when they come to Cardiff to play us. We're hungry, we're a young group. 'I felt when it went to 3-3 it was in our hands. But it's a devastating game, football is a horrible sport sometimes. (Against) top 10 in the world and we feel we should have walked away with a win.' Wales seemed to be heading for a humiliating night when Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans and Jeremy Doku struck inside the opening 27 minutes. There was a party atmosphere inside the King Baudouin Stadium as home supporters began a Mexican wave. Thomas said: 'Them behaving like that put it down to the pitch. The players got relaxed and we punished that. 'They might have been doing the Mexican wave but they weren't doing it when it went to 3-3. 'They're entitled to do what they want, but we deal with what's on the pitch. The whole game shifted. 'We're a young team and we're going places. That's one loss in 10. We'll learn from this and get better and better.' After Harry Wilson converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time, winger Thomas scored his first Wales goal and then set up Brennan Johnson's equaliser to cap a memorable week. The 26-year-old also started Friday's 3-0 victory over Liechtenstein and the following day left Huddersfield to join Stoke on a three-year deal. Sorba is a Stokie 🔴⚪ — Stoke City FC (@stokecity) June 7, 2025 'Personally it's been one heck of a week,' said Thomas, who has spent the season on loan at Ligue 1 club Nantes. 'I've secured my future and got my first Wales goal. I hope my family all watching at home were proud. 'I've loved my time at Huddersfield. They took me from non-league and made my dreams reality to play for Wales and put me in this moment. 'To get it (the move) done early was important because I can focus on my football. 'I want to play well in the Championship every week next season and give the manager a headache to keep putting me in the team.'

How Celtic can get the best out of striker Callum Osmand

The young striker has reportedly completed a medical and agreed terms with the Scottish Premiership champions ahead of a summer move from Craven Cottage. In 73 total games for Fulham's under-18s and under-21s, Osmand has netted 43 times. Read more: He has never made a senior appearance for the club, but has trained with the first team on several occasions. And Silva, who has been in charge of Fulham since 2021, has explained how Celtic can get the best out of the young frontman: "He is much more mobile [than a traditional centre forward]," he said last year [ "He needs more senior football in his legs to see how he can adapt, perform. He's got the profile that I like. "When he has a chance, he can punish the opposition. I can see the talent, in a position that is very difficult to play in the Premier League. Probably if you play another striker by his side … you will take the best from him. Let's hope we can help him to be ready for the Premier League." Osmand was nominated for Premier League 2's Player of the Year last season. Twelve months prior, he grabbed the headlines in the Premier League Cup final, bagging a hat-trick in a stunning 4-0 win for his Fulham side over Tottenham Hotspur.
