Sheriff's office warns of impersonation scam
PEKIN, Ill. (WMBD) — The Tazewell County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about scammers impersonating them.
According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, the scammers will call people claiming they are from the sheriff's office and demand money from their victim for missing a court date.
The scammer will claim to have a warrant for their victim's arrest and demand immediate payments or fines ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 to avoid arrest.

The Tazewell County Sheriff's Office said they would never contact anyone about a warrant status or demand payment over the phone.
Anyone who received this kind of scam call is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.

Woman to face trial over shopkeeper murder plot

Urgent appeal issued to find key witness as police investigate city centre incident
Two CCTV images have been issued as police investigate an incident in Manchester city centre. Greater Manchester Police has issued an appeal for information today (June 11). Officers are looking to find the man pictured (above) as they believe he could be a key witness. People urged to call police immediately if they see this man
An urgent appeal has been issued to find a wanted man in Greater Manchester. Police say David King is wanted for failure to appear at court. Greater Manchester Police issued an image of the 47-year-old as part of an appeal online today (June 11).
