Iran, Russia, China Stress Need for Diplomatic Dialogue on Iran's Nuclear Program

Iran, Russia, and China affirmed that political and diplomatic dialogue based on mutual respect remains the only practical and effective path to resolve the Iranian nuclear program.
The three countries agreed that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its Director General have the necessary capabilities and expertise to contribute constructively to this process, with the aim of supporting diplomatic efforts and addressing the issue in a positive and practical manner.
This came after a joint meeting held in Vienna, which included Li Song, China's Permanent Representative to the IAEA; Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA; Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna; and Reza Najafi, his Iranian counterpart.
According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua on Friday, the three countries agreed that the IAEA and its Director General have the necessary capabilities and expertise to contribute constructively to this process, with the aim of supporting diplomatic efforts and addressing the issue in a positive and practical manner.
China and Russia expressed their support for Iran in strengthening dialogue and cooperation with the IAEA.
Li emphasized that China appreciates Iran's commitment not to develop nuclear weapons, respects its right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and supports it in engaging in dialogue with all parties, including the United States, to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests through consultation and negotiation.
He added that China is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with Russia, Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inject positive momentum into diplomatic efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue.
