Pace sushi restaurant catches fire early Tuesday morning
PACE, Fla. (WKRG) — A sushi restaurant in Pace caught fire overnight, according to Santa Rosa County officials.

Officials said the 911 call came in around 1:10 a.m., with the caller reporting that the Fuji Sushi restaurant was in flames.
The first units arrived on the scene around 1:15 a.m. and the fire was out by 2:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including Pace, Milton, Avalon, Skyline, Bagdad, East Milton, Whiting Field and Escambia County.

Lifeguard Ambulances and the Santa Rosa County CERT Team also responded, providing bottles of water to firefighters.

(WKRG) — A former Bayou La Batre police officer who was arrested in November has now been arrested again, has learned. MCSO: One detained in Eight Mile shooting on Markris Circle According to a Mobile County Sheriff's Office news release, B.J. Squires was arrested today after violating the terms of his bond. Squires was arrested in November following an investigation by the sheriff's office and the Mobile County District Attorney's Office. That investigation led to a grand jury indictment on charges of first-degree rape, second-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree sexual abuse, the release said. The terms of his bond required Squires to 'not depart from State,' but the DA's office received information that Squires had gone to a baseball game in Biloxi, Miss., June 5, the release said. The DA's office immediately filed a motion to revoke Squires' bond and signed a warrant for his arrest, the release said. Hundreds run across iconic Mobile bridge to help Africatown Mobile County Sheriff's deputies found Squires today and arrested him, along with two other individuals, on Dauphin Island Parkway, the release stated. Mobile man arrested in Bay Minette after found asleep at wheel of running vehicle
BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man was arrested Tuesday in Bay Minette after he was found asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle. Prichard Police Department begins internal investigation after officer's arrest in Florida According to a Facebook post from the Bay Minette Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop after seeing a vehicle stationary on D'Olive Street, and the driver was asleep behind the wheel. BMPD officials said the vehicle was running and in drive. Police made contact with the driver, now identified as 29-year-old Anthony Maurice Parker Jr. of Mobile. The officer saw a handgun in plain view inside the vehicle and 'also detected a strong of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,' the post said. After investigating further, police learned Parker is a previously convicted felon. He'd been convicted of first-degree robbery and certain persons forbidden to possess firearms, according to the post. Police searched the vehicle with probable cause and found 36 grams of marijuana, 11 grams of synthetic marijuana, 80 ecstasy pills and a loaded 9mm handgun, according to BMPD. Parker was arrested and is accused of certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm, unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Correctional Facility. His bond stands at $23,500.
