Shock moment Sunrise host Matt 'Shirvo' Shirvington is pushed into a pool of ice water during live cross
Matt 'Shirvo' Shirvington received a cold reception on Monday morning after he was pushed into a pool of ice water live on-air.
The Sunrise host, 46, who was dressed in a penguin suit as he presented the AM segment, took an unexpected cold plunge at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds.
But it was for a good cause as the TV personality took an icy dip for Big Freeze 11 to raise awareness and funds for Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
The charity was started by Neale Daniher in 2014 and has raised over $115 million for MND since its inception.
'I wouldn't say I'm exactly ready to take the plunge,' Shirvo told the camera, as he explained the charity's initiative, which sees celebrities slide into a pool of icy water for the cause.

The former track star decided to dip his feet in the -6.2 degrees celsius water to 'test it a little bit'.
However, Shirvo was caught off-guard as a producer off-camera took his microphone and shoved him in the icy pool as the studio erupted into fits of laughter.
As he tried to get out of the icy water, Shirvo was pushed in again.
When the TV host finally managed to get out of the pool, he took off in a sprint around MCG to warm up as his fellow Sunrise hosts giggled.
'That was such a mean thing to do,' anchor Natalie Barr proclaimed, before questioning who shoved Shirvo into the pool.
'I haven't seen him run that fast in a long time,' Shirvo's fill-in David Woiwod quipped.
A few weeks ago, fellow Sunrise host Natalie also took a cold plunge during the breakfast program.
The presenter, 57, and co-host Shirvo were chatting to Australian boxer Harry Garside about using the bath for muscle recovery and the health benefits of doing so.
Natalie then stripped into a black swimsuit as she agreed to jump into an ice bath with the sports star.
Before getting into the water, Harry explained: 'Ice baths are obviously exceptional for athletes. But I also think breath work in general is good to calm yourself in chaos.
'Boxing is so chaotic. It's so full on. You get into an ice bath and something similar and you can control yourself with a breath.'
Shirvo then said: 'Well jump in guys when you're ready. Good luck.'
After getting into the ice bath, Natalie joked the feeling was so uncomfortable she felt like she was going into childbirth.
She continued to breath loudly before admitting: 'I hate this.'

Aussie woman slams huge problem after moving back to the country
A woman has asked Australians to share what they like about their country during a fiery rant about how much life has changed Down Under. Sandra Abu Rabei, who has moved back to Australia after living in Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia and Qatar said the country was going backwards. 'Once you move back it's not that same as what you see from overseas or how other people explain the way that they live here,' she said in a TikTok. 'A lot of people come and say "no it's great, the lifestyle's great". But it's honestly cooked. We are slaves to the system. 'We go to work, we go home and then what's next? 'We pay so much tax, we pay so much for groceries, everyone's so exhausted that all they do is go home and sit on the sofa. 'I just find there's no real community feel here but that's not my biggest issue. It's just the fact that we are slaves to the system.' Ms Abu Rabei asked those wearing 'rose-coloured glasses' to share why they thought Australia was still the lucky country. 'I think that's long gone,' she continued. 'It's just not an affordable place anymore. It's not a fun place. We are living in an actual s*** hole and there are so many better places than here.' Ms Abu Rabei, who has three children, told Daily Mail Australia that any of the previous countries she had lived in would be 'great options' to raise her kids. 'I believe raising children in a country that has a better work/life balance with less tax to help them succeed in the future,' the small business owner said. 'People aren't seeing the benefits of where their tax money goes. Speak to any Boomer and they will tell you how bad it is now compared to before. 'I think Malaysia has a great lifestyle and Jordan has a great sense of community.' Ms Abu Rabei said she would 'most likely' move overseas in the future. Dozens of Aussies agreed that life Down Under was not what it used to be. 'I grew up in Australia for 38 years and I left for another life abroad for 23 years. I have just returned and I feel the same as you. Australia has become very sad case,' one man commented. 'We are total slaves to the system, so blinded. It's incredibly expensive with high taxes on everything,' another said. 'The element of fun is minimal and (there's) a rule for everything.' 'I'm from London and lived in Australia for eight years. I want to leave because it doesn't offer my kids the best opportunities anymore now so I feel they'd be better off growing up in the UK and having closer access to Europe and other countries which are thriving,' a third person agreed. But many disagreed, with some arguing it could be a lot worse. 'Spend some time overseas in a third world country and you'd be grateful for everything that we take for granted in Australia,' one person wrote. 'Give me Australia any day where all I see is people whining about literally anything and everything which in reality is so small in the big scheme of life.'

Aussie cricket legend Matthew Hayden leaves fans in shock with his bizarre fashion sense
Aussie cricket legend Matthew Hayden was a talking point at Lord's during the World Test Championship - and it had nothing to do with his commentary. Hayden, 53, rocked his trademark Stetson hat when Pat Cummins ' men took on South Africa on day one of the World Test Championship final on Wednesday. The decorated batsman - who is yet to comment publicly about the piece of attire he proudly dons on his head - was ridiculed on social media in images showing him alongside Proteas great Hashim Amla and former English star Kevin Pietersen. 'What is Haydos wearing,' asked one fan on Instagram. 'Is Haydos from Texas,' joked another. The popular Facebook page Cricket Related Simpson Quotes also poked fun at Hayden, suggesting he was sporting a hidden camera under the novelty-sized hat. Meanwhile, Hayden was one of seven global stars recently inducted to the ICC Hall of Fame following his glittering career for Australia between 1993 and 2009. With 30 Test centuries and a batting average of 50.73, Hayden's outstanding numbers in the traditional format of the game speak for themselves. The left-hander was just as adept in the 50-over game, with Hayden smashing three centuries alone at the 2007 edition of the ICC men's Cricket World Cup to finish the tournament as the leading run-scorer. It was the second of two World Cup titles Hayden helped Australia win. Hayden was thrilled to receive the induction. 'The ICC Hall of Fame includes many of my heroes of yesteryear as well as contemporaries whom I admired and enjoyed competing against,' he said. 'Each of these players gave something to the game in their own way. It is incredible to be recognised along with them.' His daughter Grace also took to Facebook to toast the achievement. 'To say I'm proud would be understatement,' her post began. 'But the man I knew was just my Dad. The big soft teddy bear that gave every part of himself to his family.

Love Island Australia star Callum Hole reveals why he REALLY broke up with glamorous influencer Sasha Morpeth
Callum Hole has broken his silence on his shock breakup with influencer Sasha Morpeth - and revealed what really caused them to split. The Love Island Australia star, 27, who went public with Sasha, 25, in December before the couple abruptly parted ways, opened up to his co-host Skye Wheatley on the first episode of their new Nova podcast Skye & Callum. Callum took full responsibility and said his unwillingness to commit was to blame for their parting. 'I'm never 110% committed. We had a good time. We obviously spent a couple of months together, but then in the back of my head, I was like, I knew I had stuff coming up, so it was hard for me to fully commit,' Callum began. 'And then I started being less trustworthy, less loyal, and it was just kind of on a downward spiral. It ended up becoming so toxic. So we just kind of parted ways.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Skye then asked if Sasha had any part in the break-up - and Callum admitted the blame lay solely with him. 'She was perfect in that sense, it was all on my end. I was traveling a lot for work, I was seeing my ex a couple of times she knew about it, it was just drama,' he said. 'When we broke up, I was like, "this is probably for the best." I was like, there was so many parts of the relationship that were missing that I didn't realise until I was actually out. 'So I guess I learned what I want in a partner and what I don't want, and how to move in future relationships.' Callum and Sasha were first linked in November 2024 while attending a Schoolies Unleashed Grad Trip in Fiji, where he also filmed Love Island All Stars. 'This wasn't on my 2024 bingo card but couldn't be happier going into 2025 with you,' the duo captioned a series of loved-up snaps taken at the Beyond The Valley New Year's Eve music festival. Sasha, who has over five million followers on TikTok and owns the clothing brand Sasha Therese, often posted videos of the couple on her page. But all traces of the whirlwind relationship between the two social media stars simultaneously vanished from their accounts. Both Callum and Sasha have deleted all of their couple videos and photos from their social media profiles. Sasha later dropped multiple hints that the romance wasn't all smooth sailing. 'Jealousy hits different when you both aren't even in a relationship yet,' she captioned an outfit check posted to TikTok on December 27. In a cheeky video Sasha posted just five days later, she indicated the love bubble had burst. The petite blonde showed off her two-piece purple ensemble in her usual style of video, as she danced and strutted in front of her phone camera inside a messy hotel room. Sitting on the left hand side of the hotel bed, with his back turned from Sasha, appeared to be Callum. 'Girl, if you can't change the person, change the person,' she wrote in text layered over the clip. Callum appeared on Love Island All Stars alongside reality fan favourite Phoebe Spiller, after enjoying a short term fling with one of his Aussie Shore cast mates. The Brisbane-based UK reality star brought his signature cheekiness to the Aussie Shore house in Cairns during episode eight of the controversial reality show.
