AFL: Ross Lyon slams ‘disgusting' attacks on Saints star Wanganeen-Milera
Wanganeen-Milera and Port Adelaide wingman Jase Burgoyne are considering legal action after they were both targeted online following their respective matches last weekend.
Lyon launched to his player's defence on Friday morning, calling for more pointed language when describing the nature of the incident.
'Is that what you call it? Can you be stronger with it? It was hate. It was vehement. It was disgusting,' he said.
'We don't stand for it as a club, the AFL doesn't and the community shouldn't.
'It's more than racism, it's hate. You know what? The standards you walk past are the standards you accept.
'We'll call it out, we'll move on and play our footy – even that – 'racial', it's a bit more than that, it's a bit more than that.'

Lyon said Wanganeen-Milera was in a good space despite the incident but doubled down on how it should be treated.
'Nothing fazes 'Naz', it's got nothing to do with 'Naz',' he said.
''Naz' is a great person, becoming a great player, if anything, the power is in how you respond.
'He's got nothing to shy away from, deep down, would it be really hurtful and uncomfortable? Yeah, but guess what? That's out there.
'I think if we, you guys (the media, need to) use strong language. Racism? It was hate, it was vehement, it was disgusting, we don't stand for it and want to stamp it out.'

Investigation launched into man's death after Traralgon arrest
A man has died after being arrested by police in Traralgon, south-east of Melbourne overnight. Police were called to an address in Moore Street just before 1am, where a 41-year-old man was reported to be behaving erratically outside his home. But when they arrested the man, he became unresponsive. Emergency services attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene. The ABC spoke to neighbours of the man who said he was known for his erratic behaviour. Local man Gino Tripodi told the ABC his heart was racing when he got home in the early hours of Sunday morning and saw the incident unfolding. "The old challenge of trying to get into your street to go home was a bit daunting," Mr Tripodi said. "I had to be okayed to walk home, so I didn't know where I was going to sleep if I couldn't walk through." Mr Tripodi said he had been on the road all day for work and most people were out partying when the incident took place. "Not knowing what exactly happened in the street, it just unfolded as I was talking to police at the end of the street," he said. "I feel for the guy and his family, condolences to them." Detectives from the Homicide Squad were investigating but the exact circumstances surrounding the death remained unclear. As with any death in police custody, the investigation will be overseen by the Victoria Police Professional Standards Command. Mr Tripodi said he couldn't praise the emergency services enough for what they did. "Considering you had police, the fire brigade and ambulance and all the teamwork together.. it was amazing how they combined together, they did everything they could," he said.

Geelong champion Tom Stewart subbed out with knee injury during big win over St Kilda
Geelong will be sweating on the fitness of star defender Tom Stewart after suffering a knee complaint during Sunday's win over St Kilda. The five-time All-Australian was subbed out during the third term of the 31-point victory. He had ice applied to his left knee, while he had a compression bandage on his right knee. But despite the multiple ailments, the vice-captain appeared unfazed as he watched the remainder of the match on the bench. Coach Chris Scott said the move was mainly precautionary and they hope he will be fine for next week's clash against North Melbourne. 'We think it's fine. I've said a few times in this forum we've got a low tolerance these days for keeping guys on when they can,' Scott said. 'The question isn't 'can they keep going', it is 'should they keep going'. 'The strong suggestion is that he'll be OK for next week and hopefully that's on the back of chopping him out a little earlier.' Looking a class above their opponents all day, the Cats won 17.11 (113) to 12.10 (82) in front of a vocal home crowd of 29,985 spectators. The writing was on the wall early, as Geelong kicked four unanswered goals to start the match, and while the Saints fought back hard to stay in touch in an entertaining end-to-end battle, the home side answered every challenge. St Kilda's engine room battled hard throughout, finishing with more clearances and contested possessions than the Cats, but Geelong's class on the outside proved the difference. With coaches Ross Lyon and Chris Scott content to let their midfields fight it out without any hard tags, St Kilda Star Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera emerged as the most damaging player on the ground. The out-of-contract 22-year-old was everywhere for the Saints, using his running power to collect 36 disposals, his smarts around stoppages to win 10 clearances, and his exquisite kicking to snare two goals and set up multiple others. But while Wanganeen-Milera was clearly the Saints' best player, the Cats had even contributors across the board. TRANSCRIPT: A child killed by a falling tree in the Northern Territory; The death toll rises from a boat capsizing in Vietnam's world renowned Halong Bay; A team fined in the Tour de France after their support car hit a spectator. A child has died after being struck by a tree in the Northern Territory. The Territory's Police force says the seven year old girl was playing in the yard of a house in Tiwi before being struck by a falling palm tree. They say an 11-year-old boy was also hit by the tree, but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Tasmanian Labor leader Dean Winter says he's begun discussions about possible powersharing arrangements, after Saturday's election. Neither major party has won enough seats in the lower house to rule as a majority government, but the Liberal Party has so far secured 14 to the ALP's nine. Liberal Premier Jeremy Rockliff says he will be asking the governor to recommission his government on the basis that there's been a roughly three per cent swing to the Liberals. But Mr Winter has refused to officially concede, saying he is keeping his options open. "At this stage, we've had - we've opened the line of discussion with the crossbench. And we will make sure that they understand where we stand... Look, in order for Labor to form government we would need to supply and confidence from members of the crossbench." A man is being charged with assault after a car ramming incident outside a nightclub in Los Angeles that's injured around 30 people - including the driver himself. At least three people are understood to be in a critical condition after the 29 year old suspect allegedly drove his car onto the footpath outside the Vermont Hollywood Club on Santa Monica Avenue, just eight minutes after he had been thrown out of the venue. Los Angeles police say members of the crowd quickly attacked the man after the incident - which investigators already believe was intentional. Captain Adam van Gerpen of the Los Angeles Fire Department says that the driver was also shot by a bystander. "As part of our triage when the paramedics were loading up one of the patients that was considered immediate, on their secondary inspection of him, they did find that there was a gunshot wound." Three more bodies have been found after a tourist boat capsized in northern Vietnam's famous Halong Bay, raising the death toll to at least 38. The Department of National Defence Search and Rescue says the trio were crew members. The boat, carrying 48 tourists and five crew members, capsized as Storm Wipha approached the country across the South China Sea. Storm Wipha is the third typhoon to hit the region this year, and is projected to make landfall along Vietnam's northern coast early next week. Authorities say contact tracing is underway for hospital staff who may have been exposed to a man admitted with a rare strain of mpox. The patient was diagnosed with the Clade 1 mpox variant after he presented to Logan Hospital, south of Brisbane following his return from a trip to Africa. Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls says the patient was not contagious during his journey to Australia. But he says officials believe a limited number in the community and hospital may have been exposed. "Those close contacts that he has been in contact - including at the emergency ward and in other locations - are being contact traced right now and identified. Right now we think there are 19 community contacts and 40 hospital contacts that have been in contact with the patient." The Ineos-Grenadiers team has been fined after one of its team cars hit a spectator on stage 14 of the Tour de France. The penalty of just under $10,000 against the team's sports director Oliver Cookson has also come with a yellow card, which can result in a suspension if they're accumulated over a defined period of time. TV footage shows the team car knocking down the fan, who was holding what looked like a mobile phone, close to the top of the Col de Peyresourde, as it followed riders on the steep ascent. It's not known what the current condition of the spectator is. Australian welterweight boxer Tim Tszyu has lost his much-hyped rematch to American Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas. The loss is the 30-year-old's third from his past four bouts, after going unbeaten for his first 24 professional fights. After a tough start against Fundora, Tszyu looked to be getting back into the fight, but stayed on his stool when the bell rang for the eighth round and opted not to continue. "I tried to give it everything but I couldn't do it and the victory belongs to Sebastian Fundora. The best in this weight division ((154 pounder)) on the planet right now. He was just the better man. You know he's a better man. He's very hard to land and sometimes I feel like I was shadow boxing with myself. But it is what it is. Congratulations to Fundora and his team."
