
Locals urged to check sheds for missing man who vanished a week ago
Police Scotland are carrying out searches in a river and woodlands for a missing man who vanished a week ago.
Jonathan Parsons, 40, from Huntly, was last seen in Yule Square at around 7.15am on Thursday July 3.
His vehicle was discovered at Battle Hill car park, with the force now carrying out extensive searches in Huntly, the River Bogie and Battle Hill Woods areas.
Local residents have been asked to check their sheds and out buildings in case he has taken shelter there.
Jonathan, who goes by Jay, is described as around 5ft 7in tall with brown hair. He was last spotted wearing blue trousers, boots and carrying a green rucksack.
Inspector Barry Stewart said: 'We are concerned for Jay's welfare and enquiries are ongoing to trace him. Extensive searches are ongoing in Huntly, as well as the River Bogie and Battle Hill Woods areas.
'We are appealing to anyone who may have seen him, or knows where he may be, to come forward.
'We also ask local residents to check their sheds and out buildings in case he has sought shelter.'

Concern is growing for Errol Stewart from Nairn who has been reported missing. Concern is growing for a missing man who was last seen at a Scots train station. Errol Stewart, from Nairn, was last seen at Perth Train Station at around 11.50am on Friday July 18. The 61-year-old is described as around 6ft tall, with a bald/shaved head. Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud has lost his fight for life at the age of 36. The monarch was dubbed the "Sleeping Prince" after spending more than two decades in a coma following a car crash in London when he was 15. The Mirror reports he suffered severe brain injuries and internal bleeding in the accident, and despite urgent medical care, he never regained full consciousness. Officers discovered a huge haul of drugs, with an estimated value of more than £160,000 and more than £80,000 in cash.
