Egyptian Fashion House Maison Saedi Unleashes Couture SS'25 Collection
The Scene
Egyptian fashion house Maison Saedi unveiled its SS '25 couture collection ? at Cairo's historic Citadel, a setting that subtly echoed the collection's central theme. Like the Citadel—preserved, restored, and reshaped over centuries—the collection questions identity and transformation: are we still the same when everything about us has changed? Through layered fabrics, 3D appliqués, and the balance of softness and structure, Maison Saedi explores transformation as both concept and reality.
The Muse
Creative director Ahmed Saedi draws inspiration from the philosophical paradox of Theseus' Ship. 'I was fascinated by the idea that if every part of something is replaced, does it remain the same?' he tells SceneStyled.
Through meticulous craftsmanship and modular design, the collection challenges permanence, reflecting how personal and cultural identities shift over time.
The Collection Dissected
Sculptural, iridescent gowns appear mid-metamorphosis, shedding one identity to embrace another. Cascading ruffles of chiffon, raw-edged tulle, and intricate beadwork spill over corseted bodices, capturing movement in its most delicate form. Flowing drapery contrasts with razor-sharp tailoring, echoing the push and pull of permanence and transformation.
The palette leans into summer hues—violet undertones, bluish turquoise, and coppery peach—blending lightness with depth. As always, Saedi masters the balance between structure and fluidity: airy fabrics juxtapose against metallic embellishments, organza layers peel away from rigid corsetry, revealing the tension between softness and form.
The Collection in Three Words
Ethereal. Sculptural. Transformative.
Where to Wear It
With luminous drapes and shimmering details, these gowns belong at a Venetian masquerade ball—paired with an ornate mask, pearls catching candlelight as you move through grand, dimly lit halls.
How to Style it:
Gianvito Rossi | Flavia Mirrored Leather Pumps
Jimmy Choo | Bon Bon Gold Satin Bag with Crystals
Jennifer Behr | Parthenia Earrings
Fezorah Jewellery | Gold Statement Necklace
The Star of the Show:
Crafted from a gossamer-light, iridescent fabric that cascades effortlessly from the high neckline to the floor, this halterneck gown elongates the frame, drawing the eye toward the statement pearl collar and the sheer, diaphanous layers shifting between warm amber, peach, and golden hues.
The Verdict:
With SS'25, Ahmed Saedi keeps pushing his signature themes of identity and change, but this time, he takes it even deeper. Much like his previous works Echoes and Solennelle , this collection is deeply introspective and questions what truly defines us. Through deconstructed silhouettes, airy layers, and unexpected contrasts, Saedi doesn't impose a single truth. Instead, the collection invites personal interpretation—it's all about what you see, feel, and take away.
