Where is Proteas legend Lance Klusener now?
Nicknamed 'The Zulu,' Klusener was well-known for his aggressive batting style, his ability to bowl effectively, and his knack for taking wickets during critical moments.
Although he played in 171 One Day Internationals and 49 Test matches, Klusener is most remembered for his remarkable performance in the 1999 World Cup, where he almost led the Proteas to the final.
His baseball-style backlift and thunderous hitting made him a legend in South African cricket. He was named Man of the Tournament during the 1999 World Cup, where he truly shone. The following year, he was recognised as a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2000.
Lance Klusener made his international debut in 1996 and peaked between 1998 and 2001. Unfortunately, after the 2003 World Cup, he played only a handful of matches due to ongoing ankle injuries and a public dispute with then South African captain Graeme Smith.
After retiring from all forms of cricket in 2010, the former Proteas all-rounder transitioned into coaching. From 2012 to 2016, he served as head coach of the Dolphins, a team he represented during his playing career. Subsequently, Klusener had a brief tenure with the Zimbabwe national team and then joined Rajshahi Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League as head coach.
He has also worked as a batting coach for the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since 2022, Lance Klusener has been the head coach of the Durban's Super Giants in SA20.

Conrad will be ‘disappointed' if Proteas don't put up a fight against Black Caps
South Africa will meet New Zealand in the T20 tri-series final in Harare on Saturday. Having used the T20 International tri-series as an experimental exercise in his first white-ball campaign in charge, coach Shukri Conrad says the Proteas will field their best team against New Zealand on Saturday as they set their sights on overall victory. Though they have defeated hosts Zimbabwe twice, South Africa have lost both their matches thus far against New Zealand in the T20 International tri-series in Harare. However, with a second-string squad (some senior players are being rested), Conrad felt they could take a lot from the experience gained during the two-week tri-series. Rubin Hermann and Dewald Brevis, who have played 10 T20 International matches between them, are the team's top run-scorers in the series, while spinner Senuran Muthusamy, who has played two T20 Internationals, has been the squad's highest wicket taker. 'We've got a final to play on Saturday and that's the big match. Not making light of any of the other games, but I think the final will give us a really good idea of where everybody is at,' Conrad said. 'But I'm really excited by the young talent we've got at our disposal, especially in the T20 format. They are players who can make huge impacts and I'm really looking forward to the next while with them to see how they develop.' Hitting back against Kiwis Having replaced former limited overs coach Rob Walter (now the head coach of New Zealand), Conrad said he had been cautious in his approach after expanding his responsibilities beyond the national Test team. He was confident, however, that the SA side could beat their higher-ranked opponents in the tri-series decider tomorrow. Despite missing some key players, Conrad felt they had learned enough as a unit over the last couple of weeks to hit back by beating the Black Caps. 'It's been refreshing. The young players that have come in, seeing how they have taken to the environment and seeing their performances,' he said. 'It's been largely experimental. For me, I've sat back, and obviously observed and watched a lot, and tinkered here and there, but it was always going to be about this weekend's final. 'I'll be disappointed if we don't put up a bold showing and try get one over New Zealand.'

Kaizer Chiefs management give green light for striker!
Kaizer Chiefs concluded their pre-season in the Netherlands with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Twente, marking their fourth defeat in five games. The underwhelming record hasn't appeared to shatter AmaKhosi's confidence, who have returned home in a seemingly chipper mood. 'We had a very exciting pre-season,' an insider revealed. 'It was a great space for the team to be in so that coaches can strategise and players blend in and connect.' Six signings have occurred this offseason, but Kaizer Chiefs are yet to land a formidable striker, which has them remaining active in the transfer market. 'Yes, the club has already signed six players this season, but it's believed that the head coach and his technical team still need at least one experienced striker to help them mainly in the CAF Confederation Cup and management is willing to sign another striker if that's what the technical team needs so that they have a well-balanced squad which will compete in all the tournaments, ' a source confirmed. According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have been offered Cameroonian striker Ravel Djoumekou. The 25-year-old currently plays for Congo's FC Saint Eloi Lupopo. 'He is an experienced striker who could really help Chiefs at this stage,' a sourced explained. 'He has been offered to Chiefs in their quest to sign a striker and now it's up to Chiefs' scouts and analysts to assess him and make a decision after that. But if they make their decision to sign him, then he would be available.' A second source reaffirmed Kaizer Chiefs' inquiry, saying, 'Of course, the club hasn't finished signings yet. They are still looking at other players. Some you may know, others you may not know.
