‘I was furious': Bengaluru auto-rickshaw driver interrupts ride to scroll through actor Sreeleela's Instagram, passenger shares angry post

A Bengaluru commuter shared a disturbing incident during what was supposed to be a regular auto-rickshaw ride. In a Reddit post, which is now doing rounds, the man shared that he had a nerve-wracking experience as the auto-rickshaw driver remained glued to his mobile phone the entire time.
According to the user, he had booked the ride to get to work in time for an important call. 'The office is usually just a 10-minute ride from my place, so I figured I'd make it comfortably on time,' he wrote.
But things quickly took a bizarre turn. 'As soon as I got into the auto, the driver briefly glanced at the map and then minimised it. I assumed he was familiar with the route. But to my surprise, he immediately opened Instagram and started scrolling—while driving with one hand,' the post read.
The situation became even more alarming when the driver got distracted by actor Sreeleela's post. 'He actually slowed down the auto right in the middle of the main road to open her profile and scroll through her feed. I was furious and felt completely helpless,' the man said in his Reddit post.
'Can't They Keep Their Phones Down While Driving?' the man captioned the video.

The post quickly gained traction, sparking debates about rider safety and the growing problem of screen addiction among drivers. 'Man, I've seen many auto walas just slow down and pull over suddenly to the road side, without any indicator, and I notice they're always looking at their phone. It's also a problem with guys on scootys as well. It's so frustrating when you're driving right behind them,' a user shared.
'Almost every single driver i have seen on road is on their phone. It is only the heavy traffic that is preventing too many accidents,' another user commented.
