Uttarakhand To Link Private Schools With VSK For Smarter Education Monitoring
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday that private schools will also be linked to Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) to improve the school education system.
Stating that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the Gujarat model of VSK, Dhami said here that about 16,000 schools have been linked to the initiative, and soon all the private schools of the state will also be linked to it.
VSK is a digital infrastructure ecosystem that tracks and analyses data about student enrolment, attendance, academic performance and teacher training to help administrators monitor school education progress.
Referring to the extensive reforms in the education system in the country, the CM said that the state government was the first in the country to implement the new education policy.
He said that 141 PM Shri schools and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Schools are being constructed in the state, while virtual classrooms have also been arranged in 500 schools in all 13 districts.

Vision document is like poll manifesto, another way to mislead public: SP
Lucknow: Leader of Opposition in UP Legislative Council Lal Bihari Yadav on Wednesday said the vision document presented by the BJP govt is another effort to mislead people. "It is another effort to mislead people. It is like an election manifesto, a sankalp patra. How the govt that has not fulfilled promises made in its election manifesto can have a vision or an objective," he said during the discussion on 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh '. The promise that they made in their first 'sankalp patra' of bringing back the black money deposited in foreign banks and giving Rs 15 lakh to every person in the country has not been fulfilled, he said. "Govt has not spoken even a word on this in parliament. It is 11 years for the BJP govt in the Centre and 8 in UP," he said. Yadav said instead of creating 2 crore jobs, as promised in their second sankalp patra, they are cutting down on jobs. "Outsourcing done by them has decreased the per capita income," he alleged. The SP MLC said the govt talked about doubling the income of farmers, but where are the farmers finding urea in the market? The income of farmers can be increased by reducing the input cost for agriculture, but that is not happening, he said. He further criticised the govt for not giving free electricity to farmers as was promised or implementing the MSP for paddy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas Prices In Dubai Might Be More Affordable Than You Think Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Quote Undo "The govt had also promised that within 90 days of coming to power, it will start the process to fill all vacant posts in a transparent manner, which has not been done it till now," said Yadav. The govt is neither giving reservation to backwards nor to SCs. In the matter concerning the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, around 5,893 posts meant for the backward class and 3,000 SC seats were filled with general category people. This was mentioned in the report of the National Backward Commission. This is an expose in only one job, said the opposition leader. He said education sector was in a bad state in UP as NCERT books were unavailable to students. Later, SP members walked out after Yadav said he was not given enough time to speak in the House. Trump, Putin will meet at Alaska military base long used to counter Russia
Washington, Aug 13 (AP) In an ironic twist, President Donald Trump is set to discuss the war in Ukraine with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at a military base in Alaska that was crucial to countering the Soviet Union during the height of Cold War and still plays a role today. The meeting is scheduled to take place Friday at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, according to a White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal planning. The base created by merging Elmendorf Air Force Base and Army Fort Richardson in 2010 has played a key strategic role in monitoring and deterring the Soviet Union during much of the Cold War. Throughout its long history, the base hosted large numbers of aircraft and oversaw operations of a variety of early warning radar sites that were aimed at detecting Soviet military activity and any possible nuclear launches. It earned the motto 'Top Cover for North America" at this time, according to the base website. While much of the military hardware has since been deactivated, the base still hosts key aircraft squadrons, including the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jet. Planes from the base also still intercept Russian aircraft that regularly fly into US airspace. The irony of Putin visiting an American military base that long has — and still does — aimed to counter Russian threats comes as Trump works to reach a ceasefire deal in a war that he promised during the 2024 campaign to end quickly. Officials from Ukraine and Europe fear that the one-on-one meeting they will not take part in could lead to an outcome that favours Russian goals. French President Emmanuel Macron said Trump was 'very clear" that the United States wants to achieve a ceasefire at the summit. Macron spoke after a virtual meeting between Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other European leaders. Trump has said any major agreement could involve land swaps and that Zelenskyy and Putin could meet next or he could meet with both leaders. 'There's a very good chance that we're going to have a second meeting, which will be more productive than the first, because the first is I'm going to find out where we are and what we're doing," Trump told reporters Wednesday. 'It's going to be a very important meeting, but it's setting the table for the second meeting." (AP) GSP view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
