Cadbury unveils new treat with 'best ever' biscuit — but there's a pricey catch
The confectionery giant has launched a brand-new chocolate that fans are desperate to get their hands on – but there's a catch. It's only available as part of an advent calendar.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff Advent Calendar is packed with 24 bite-sized chunks of chocolate. Half of the doors open to reveal the new Dairy Milk pieces filled with crunchy Lotus Biscoff spread.
The chunks aren't currently available to buy in packets, so if you want to try them it'll set you back £7.79, which gets you the full calendar of chocolate.
Biscoff has somewhat of a cult following, with snackers hailing it as the 'best ever' biscuit brand.
But when Cadbury launched the Dairy Milk Biscoff bar earlier this year — which features caramelised Biscoff pieces scattered in the classic Cadbury chocolate —some fans were 'disappointed' and felt it lacked the distinct Biscoff flavour. https://www.instagram.com/p/DM5rZL1oyzc/?img_index=1
However, the new chunks have won people over already. Popular instagram account @treatsinstore recently shared a rave review.
A post about the chunks reads: 'I'm pleased to report they're much, much better than the bar. For a Biscoff fiend like me, these have a much stronger Biscoff taste and a great fudgy and slightly crunchy texture.
'They're not perfect; the chocolate melts easily. They still don't seem quite as satisfying as the official spread bar, and I don't like that I had to buy an advent calendar to get just 12 pieces. But if you love Biscoff, these are highly addictive and a must-try.'
The calendar was also spotted by Newsfoods UK on Facebook. A post read: 'Brand new Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff Advent Calendar. Yes, these are filled to the brim with Biscoff spread. Literally no words – 10/10!'
Others commented their enthusiasm: 'I know what advent calendar I want this year.' While another joked: 'It wouldn't make it to Christmas in my house.'
It's not clear whether the chunks will eventually be sold separately. Metro has contacted Cadbury's for comment. More Trending
The 236g calendar is currently only available online at Cadbury Gifts Direct.
The launch comes after the confectionary giant announced it's soon to launch two new spins on its beloved Bournville chocolate.
The new bars include 'Simply Indulgent' Salted Caramel and Chopped Hazelnut varieties of its classic dark chocolate, which has remained a firm favourite since its inception over 100 years ago.

Although some details are still under wraps, we do know they'll be available across a range of UK retailers priced at £2.20 a bar.
There's a lesser-known Biscoff bar that seriously packs a punch. Metro's Lifestyle Editor Kristina Beanland stumbled upon it during a trip to her local Co-op.
She said: 'Biscoff's own brand Milk Chocolate with Biscoff Spread might not have a punchy name, but as a long-time Biscoff lover (I was a fan when it was simply a plastic-wrapped biscuit served with your cuppa) I was intrigued.
'Having also been left feeling a little 'meh' by the Dairy Milk offering, I braced myself… and, the good news is, the Lotus bar did not disappoint.
'This Lotus bar isn't knew — having launched in August 2022 — but it's less well-known than Cadbury's offering, and availability varies from store to store.
'Currently, you can find it in Co-op for £3 (reduced from £3.60) and it's available online from Sainsbury's (£3.50), Morrisons (£3.50), Tesco (£3.50) and Asda (£2.98) — although you may not find it in store.
'And yes, while it's on the pricey side for a chocolate bar (the Dairy Milk Biscoff is currently on offer in Sainsbury's for £1) it's well worth it.
'The bar is basically a very thick layer of Biscoff spread encased in creamy milk chocolate, with some added crunchiness of the biscuit itself. It's chunky, at a a similar size to M&S's new Big Daddy bars.
'If the Cadbury version wasn't enough Biscoff for you, then this bar has it in spades. It's the overwhelming flavour by a long way, with the added kick of chocolate.
'Of course, it's sweet so you won't want much – but it's handily separated into squares (okay, rectangles) that actually make for a pretty decent portion.
'I've become pretty addicted since spotting the bars – which I give a solid 10/10.'

EastEnders' Joel branded a ‘disgusting little pervert' as Ross makes a discovery
Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) has finally flipped over Joel's (Max Murray) disgusting behaviour in EastEnders. It became immediately clear when the father and son arrived in Walford alongside Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year that they were hiding a fair few skeletons in their closet. They couldn't return to their home in Australia, as Joel had upskirted a pupil in his class, and Ross had paid her family $50,000 in exchange for their silence. He's since enacted havoc on the residents of Albert Square, impregnating Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and introducing new mate Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to dangerous adult content online. Later, Joel showed Tommy videos made by a disgusting influencer, who degrades women. Joel thought this was an appropriate way to talk about the opposite sex, branding his own mum a 'slapper', talking about how she abandoned him as a child. He also sexually assaulted a passenger on the London Underground in an utterly vile move, with Vicki paying off the victim. Earlier this week, Joel discovered some big news about his estranged mother Cleo, that left him reeling. Other than Joel's derogatory comments about his mum, we don't know an awful lot about her. She contacted Ross to inform him that she was remarrying, and despite us finally finding out her name, fans are still convinced that she is none other than Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), using a pseudonym. This was fuelled by him yelling: 'Well, you ain't my mum, you don't get to tell me what to do!' during a row with Vicki, which seemed to echo a very famous 'Enders quote. As long-term fans will remember, back in 2005, Zoe screamed: 'You can't tell me what to do, you ain't my mother!', as her mum Kat (Jessie Wallace) howled back: 'Yes I am!' Joel's version coincidentally aired in the same week that Zoe returned after 20 years. Well, rather unsurprisingly, he hasn't taken it well. As we saw, he headed to The Vic to catch up with Tommy – and suggested they make things more exciting by stealing some booze from the barrel store. It didn't take long for the lads to be discovered, and Ross dragged Joel home. As he was being carted out of the pub he spurted a number of derogatory and extremely concerning comments about Kat. Back at home, Ross made another worrying discovery… In tonight's episode, Ross attempted to worm his way into Joel's mindset and learn the extent of his issues. Joel told his dad that as a man he has no rights, and continued to tear strips off Kat. Ross was at a loose end with what to say, and suggested they have a beer together and a heart to heart. Sitting down, Joel opened his laptop and played a video from the influencer he's a fan of. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Ross compared the comments to something a comedian would say on TV in the 80s – laden with sexism and misogyny. However, when alone, Ross was startled by the extend the uploader went with this vile words. With Joel out of the room, Ross then spied an email that contained a video of a girl assaulted. To make matters worse, he then found countless other clips of girls being upskirted and voyeurism. More Trending Furious, he charged into the kitchen with the laptop and drenched it under the sink, revolted at what his son was capable of. As he branded him a 'revolting, arrogant, disgusting little pervert', Joel pleaded for forgiveness. But Ross wasn't in the forgiving mood, telling him that not only does he need help, but it's clear there's something wrong with him. View More » What will Joel's next move be? Vinny makes unexpected confession to Aaron in Emmerdale
An afternoon with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) led to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) making a very honest confession in Emmerdale. Vinny's head has been in a right mess ever since he tried to kiss his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). In the immediate aftermath, Vinny tried to tell Kammy it was a joke, but was actually left terribly confused about how it made him feel. Kammy has attempted to help Vinny talk through his feelings, but he's been quite defensive about it and has remained adamant his heart belongs with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham). Yesterday, Vinny allowed himself a brief moment to not live in denial while spending time with Kammy again. At the scrapyard, Kammy gave Vinny a watch as a gift ahead of his wedding. He was touched and went to put it in the office as Kammy searched for items for his car. As Vinny watched his pal through the window, he started gazing at him lustfully. It was perhaps this interaction that prompted Vinny to be vulnerable in a chat with Aaron in this evening's episode. At the flat, as they battled some DIY, Aaron told Vinny that he kissed Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) on his wedding day. Moments later, Vinny told Aaron that he recently tried to kiss someone as well. He didn't confirm who it was, but Aaron assumed it was a female. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? How does The Fortune Hotel work and who's in the ITV gameshow cast?
It's beginning to get to that time of the year where high-octane gameshows start to take over your life. With the hotly anticipated Celebrity Traitors just around the corner, the second season of The Fortune Hotel could well be the series to tick you over until then. Presented by Stephen Mangan, the show, which sees ten pairs of contestants battle it out to win a whopping £250,000, will kick off tonight on ITV at 9pm. Speaking to the Metro ahead of its launch, Mangan has already admitted that he can be 'as ruthless as everybody else', as the game requires contestants to lie, cheat and bluff to get their hands on the money. Taking place in a gorgeous location that provides a stunning backdrop to the entertainment, the show has been described as 'extremely stressful' by those who have experienced it first hand. To find out more about the upcoming series, Metro takes a deep dive into how the game exactly works and who will be featuring in this year's cast. ITV's The Fortune Hotel features ten pairs of contestants who compete to find a briefcase containing £250,000 while avoiding one with an 'Early Checkout' card. Daily challenges determine what order the players keep or swap their briefcase. Will you be watching The Fortune Hotel season two? At the end of each day, pairs gather to decide whether to keep their current briefcase or swap it with another. The ultimate aim is to correctly identify the money-filled briefcase and hold onto it until the end to win the £250,000 prize. The new cast for the 2025 series has been revealed ahead of the first episode tonight. Chelsey and Briony, Atholl and John, Nella and Tope, Allan and Jacob, Fred and Min, Gurks and Guv, James and Yasmine, Sue and Jeremy and Martina and Briony will all be checking into the luxurious resort for the second season. Metro columnist Adam Miller was fortunate enough to actually play The Fortune Hotel, but according to him he 'didn't know life could be that stressful'. Adam said how 'even without a life-changing amount of money at stake, stress levels were high'. 'We were put into pairs, and one by one we picked our case, opening it in front of the rival teams and hoping not to give any signals that might reveal the contents inside' he explained. 'Ours had nothing – it was a case full of blank paper. Regardless, I was shaking like I'd just opened a chest of gold – or the card that would see me banished. Suspicions were on us'. To find out more about how he got on, you can read his full experience here. The occupation of the contestants ranges from retired police officers to construction workers and cleaning business owners. There is also a tech broker and property manager mother and son duo as well as life partners and retirees Fred and Min. The first season of The Fortune Hotel provided some high quality drama last year. The winners of the gameshow were Jo-Anne and Will, a mother and son duo. They took home a cool £210,000 after successfully navigating the game and outwitting the other contestants. The duo did, however, give some of their prize money away to Aysha and Sam after many viewers felt they became villains of the show after playing dirty. The Fortune Hotel 2025 will be filmed at the stunning Silversands Grenada resort in the Caribbean. More Trending The resort is located on Grand Anse Beach and features private villas, a spa and multiple dining options. It is known for its 100-meter-long infinity pool and luxurious atmosphere. It is also the same resort which was used in the first series of the show. View More » The Fortune Hotel will be available to watch on ITV from tonight (August 6).
