Brentford forward Yoane Wissa 'wants to LEAVE the club despite the Bees opening contract talks' amid interest from several Premier League clubs
Wissa, 28, has attracted the attention of Tottenham, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest after scoring 19 goals in the Premier League last season.
Brentford have therefore attempted to dissuade him from moving by entering dialogue over a new deal for the DR Congo international.
However, according to BBC Sport, he appears ready to 'explore options elsewhere' in what has been a turbulent summer so far for the west London side.
Wissa is said to have no desire to discuss improved terms, with just 12 months left to run on his current contract - although it has an option to be extended by a year.
Brentford will not want to lose both Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo in this transfer window - although the latter of their two star forwards is expected to move to Manchester United after reaching an agreement over a £71million transfer.
United declined to comment on reports that they have offered £65million plus £6million in add-ons for Mbeumo, but it is believed that that the 25-year-old Cameroon forward will now undergo a medical.
Mbeumo will not complete the move in time to join up with his new teammates when United play their first pre-season friendly against Leeds in Stockholm on Saturday.
However, he is set to be included on the club's US tour when Ruben Amorim and his players fly to Chicago next week.
The player has got his dream move after insisting that he would only leave Brentford for United amid rival interest from Tottenham.
As for Brentford, it marks a testing period for a side who have established themselves in the Premier League since winning promotion to the top flight in 2021.
The potential departures of both Wissa and Mbeumo - coupled with long-serving former manager Thomas Frank's decision to take the Tottenham job and ex-captain Christian Norgaard's move to Arsenal - beckons in a period of uncertainty.
They have begun the search for attacking reinforcements as a result, having bid £35million for Ipswich winger Omari Hutchinson, who is thought to be keen on the move.
As first revealed by Mail Sport on Wednesday, the Bees have identified Hutchinson as the ideal man to supplement their attack.
Everton are also interested in Hutchinson and there is a chance Nottingham Forest may enter the race.
Forest lost Anthony Elanga to Newcastle last week and remain in dispute with Tottenham, who thought they had triggered Morgan Gibbs-White's £60m release clause but have yet to finalise the deal for the attacking midfielder, amid fury at the City Ground.
Brentford's move for Hutchinson happens in the week they signed former Liverpool and sometime England captain Jordan Henderson.

Mikel Arteta finally got his way after being overruled on £52m Arsenal signing
You certainly can't accuse Arsenal of being inactive in the window this summer, but whether the new signings and potential new recruits will be enough to power the Gunners to the title remains to be seen. The naysayers will point to Liverpool's already impressive summer, which has seen Arne Slot add two top class full-backs and smash the British transfer record to snare Florian Wirtz. Building from a position of strength, the best are getting even better, even without the arrival of a new centre forward, an issue that looks likely to be addressed imminently. Arsenal, however, can only look after themselves and while it might have been tempting to enter the race to sign Alexander Isak, plugging the gaping holes in their squad, exposed by last season's injury crisis, represents a far smarter use of the considerable funds that have again been made available to Mikel Arteta. Of the new additions, Martin Zubimendi's is perhaps the most intriguing. Will the addition of a genuine deep-lying playmaker, one in the prime of his career, prompt a more expansive style of play? If the Spaniard's addition shifts Arsenal back towards a side somewhere between the buccaneering nearly-men of two years ago and the overcautious, safety first unit that lost their way last term then there is no reason to suggest they cannot last the distance. The rest of the signings represent gambles, while even Eberechi Eze and Rodrygo, although level raisers, would come with no guarantees given it is not clear where the Crystal Palace playmaker would fit in, while there have been plenty of Real Madrid cast offs who have failed to shine in the Premier League. That said, this is a top class Arsenal side whose consistency over the last three years is often overlooked as a consequence of their lack of silverware. The new signings may only need to contribute the extra 10% required to get the Gunners over the line given the quality that Arteta already has at his disposal. If you're looking for a positive omen, cast your minds back to the summer of 2001 when Arsenal brought in Richard Wright, Francis Jeffers, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Sol Campbell at significant cost, while Edu was effectively a new signing given he hardly played following his arrival in January. Of that group, only Campbell could have been considered a genuine game changer, but that group all made valuable contributions across a campaign which saw Arsenal end a run of three second place finishes to complete a Premier League and FA Cup double under Arsene Wenger. Noni Madueke eyes ‘great success' at Arsenal after £48m arrival from Chelsea
Arsenal's £48 million (€55 million) arrival Noni Madueke said his new club are capable of winning it all after leaving Chelsea to become Mikel Arteta's fourth signing of the summer. Madueke's controversial move across London, which provoked a backlash from some Arsenal supporters, takes the club's spending to beyond £120 million so far. Advertisement Madueke, who has signed a five-year contract, follows Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who also joined from Chelsea, and Christian Norgaard in moving to the Emirates in the off-season, with Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera's £13m deal also expected to be finalised shortly. Arsenal remain hopeful of signing striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, although it is not believed a deal, which could be worth as much as £65m, is imminent. Madueke, 23, will provide competition to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in Arsenal's wide areas and the club are confident his arrival will help fire them to a first Premier League title in two decades. But the transfer, which could exceed £52m with performance-related add-ons, has been met with severe criticism by Arsenal supporters on social media. A petition against the England international's move to the Emirates has attracted more than 5,000 signatures. Advertisement However, Madueke said: 'I'm somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time and I feel like it's steered me in the right direction so far. So I don't think it's going to be any different here. I think it's going to be a great success and I'm really happy to be here. 'I've just been relaxed, waiting for the green light and when I came in today, it all felt real. I'm really happy and really proud, so it's a great moment for me. Noni Madueke For a Young 23 year old English footballer to be vilified, bullied, embarrassed and totally strip down at a time when you're meant to be celebrating a transfer worth £55 million. Yes a young kid with a dream about to secure a £55 million dream move to a club of his… — Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) July 12, 2025 'It's already a great team with a clear identity and I can't wait to bring my style to the team and try and help the boys as much as possible to take that next step. (I want) to win all the competitions we're in, I feel like we're definitely capable of doing that.' In a post on X, former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand said Madueke had been 'vilified', 'bullied' and 'embarrassed' by the backlash. Advertisement He added: 'It's fine for fans to disagree with signings or decisions made at their football club but the way some fans have publicly voiced their opinions and those who have gone a step further in publicly joining a petition for this player not to be signed by their football club is beyond me. 'I have never seen anything like this before, and I hope I don't ever again. Like I said earlier just imagine this was your best friend, one of your family members, your brother, son, then tell me how would you feel if they were on the receiving end of this vulgar behaviour? Noni Madueke has left Chelsea to join Arsenal (Jane Barlow/PA) 'I just hope Noni Madueke rams all of this negativity back down the throats of these impostors.' Madueke left Chelsea's eventual Club World Cup-winning campaign in the United States last Friday to undergo his medical at Arsenal. Advertisement He scored 11 times for Chelsea across all competitions last season and was rewarded with his first senior international appearances under England interim manager Lee Carsley and his permanent successor Thomas Tuchel. Madueke will be absent from Arsenal's upcoming tour of Singapore and Hong Kong following Chelsea's post-season exploits at the Club World Cup.
