Anaganaga: A heartfelt wake-up call to the education system

Sumanth Akkineni, known for his meaningful and emotionally driven performances, returns with Anaganaga, an ETV original movie now streaming on ETV Win. Directed by Sunny Sanjay and produced by Rakesh Reddy Gadam and Rudra Madireddy, the film takes a deep, introspective dive into the modern education system and the emotional journey of a father and his son.
Story
Anaganaga follows Vyas, a progressive school teacher who believes in concept-based learning, unlike the conventional methods favored by his wife, who is also the school principal. When Vyas's son Ram and several other students fail their exams, the school management decides to terminate Vyas's job. Faced with this crisis, Vyas embarks on a mission to help his son and the other students overcome academic challenges by focusing on understanding concepts rather than rote memorization. The film explores the struggles of children under academic pressure and emphasizes the need for empathy and innovative teaching methods in today's education system.
Performances
Sumanth Kumar delivers a sensitive and sincere performance as Vyas. His portrayal of a compassionate father and a visionary teacher is both moving and convincing.
Master Viharsh as Ram is a revelation. His emotionally nuanced acting captures the vulnerability and resilience of a child burdened by expectations.
Kajal Choudhary is intense as Bhagi, representing the rigid and insensitive side of the education system. Her performance might evoke hatred towards her character in viewers, but that's precisely the point, which is a win for her.
Avasarala Srinivas, Anu Hasan, Rakesh Rachakonda, and B.V.S. Ravi all lend strong support to the narrative. Rakesh's portrayal of the friend character 'Bhatta' brings a grounded and relatable energy to the film.
Kaumudi Nemani contributes effectively to the ensemble, rounding out the cast with emotional depth.
Analysis
Anaganaga is an emotional journey between a father and his son, portraying the silent battles children face in today's fast-paced, performance-obsessed world. Sumanth, known for picking meaningful stories over formulaic commercial films, once again proves his strength with this heartfelt project.
At its core, Anaganaga is a socially conscious film that highlights the growing academic stress among children and the consequences of a results-driven education system. The screenplay cleverly replaces the idea of a traditional villain with an intangible adversary, fate, societal pressure, and outdated systems. The film is both a cautionary tale and a hopeful message. It explains the importance of empathy in education, urging teachers and parents alike to focus on understanding children rather than measuring them by their marks.
We've seen many stories on this subject in Telugu cinema, but Anaganaga stands out because it doesn't just expose the problem, it offers a solution: concept-oriented learning. This message strongly reminds us of the classic 3 Idiots. The movie beautifully argues that childhood is meant for memories, growth, and curiosity, not pressure and fear.
In addition to its critique of the education system, Anaganaga also gently explores gender roles through Vyas. This gentle, hands-on father figure breaks away from the stereotypical image of masculinity and highlights the importance of emotional involvement from both parents.
Anaganaga is a must-watch for parents, teachers, and anyone involved in shaping a child's future. It's an emotional, soul-stirring film that raises important questions about our education system. Sumanth adds another feather to his cap with a performance that is both inspiring and deeply humane. The film will make you smile, cry, and most importantly makes you think.

Rana Daggubati speaks on an unified North-South film industry; sparks new hope for Pan-India cinema: "Waiting for you guys"

Rana Daggubati envisions uniting India's regional film industries with Bollywood to create a pan-India platform while preserving cultural roots. He emphasizes collaboration in technology and distribution, highlighting the need for synergy between tech and entertainment sectors. Rana's upcoming project is 'Rana Naidu Season 2', releasing June 13, 2025. Rana Daggubati is a prominent Indian actor, producer, and entrepreneur known mainly for his work in Telugu films, as well as in Tamil and Hindi cinema. In a recent interview, he discussed the idea of bringing together all regional film industries along with Bollywood to create a unified Pan-India content platform, highlighting the benefits of collaboration across languages and regions. The Idea of Unity In an interview with Bollywood Bubbles, Rana was asked why content from various regional film industries across India—whether from the North or South—cannot be unified into a single entity. He replied with a lighthearted suggestion, saying, 'If all of us decide to move to one city and work from one place, great—there would be no problem. Let's pick somewhere in the middle of India, like Bhopal or Goa, and let all industries move there. Everyone in favour? No issue. We'd become one unified industry overnight. I'm already there, waiting for you guys! But it's hard, it is. We speak different languages, and it's quite difficult to communicate.' Cultural Essence and Regional Roots He pointed out that recently, especially in Telugu films, the push to create pan-India content has led to a loss of the industry's roots and cultural essence. However, the mindset is now shifting, with the understanding that not every film needs to appeal beyond its own region. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo There is significant value in producing content that remains deeply rooted in Telugu culture, and efforts should focus on making such films successful within that space. He emphasized that India's diversity sets it apart from other countries, embodying the principle of 'unity in diversity,' with the entertainment industry often leading by example. He also highlighted the Malayalam film industry as an example, where producing a film with a budget of around four crores is considered standard rather than small. Technology and Collaboration The actor mentioned that creating films in Bombay often leads to labels like 'indie film' or being considered 'too small,' highlighting how differently the country operates in terms of cinema. He believes that cinema will always exist and continue to evolve. The key area where collaboration can happen is in technology, distribution platforms, and developing systems that work universally across industries. He pointed to Silicon Valley as an example, where technology is deeply integrated into all sectors. Using Netflix as a case study, he explained that it functions more as a tech company than just a content provider, representing a highly engineered brand. However, in India, despite having IT hubs in many cities, there is minimal interaction between the tech and entertainment industries. He emphasized that a genuine merger between these sectors is essential for future growth. Upcoming Projects On the work front, Rana will be seen in 'Rana Naidu Season 2' on June 13th 2025.
