India vs England: After Pant, another massive injury blow to India as pacer likely ruled out of 4th Test
Trouble mounts for Team India as yet another injury has been reported from the squad. Team India is already facing uncertainty around Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah. read more Team India has been hit hard by injuries on the ongoing England tour, with troubles compounding. After Rishabh Pant's finger injury in the 3rd Test at Lord's, another injury has been reported in the Indian squad. This time, a bowler - not Jasprit Bumrah - is injured. However, uncertainty about Bumrah's status continues. Arshdeep Singh, who was awaiting his chance in the tour, has incurred a cut on his bowling hand and will likely be ruled out for the 4th Test against England. The 26-year-old sustained the injury during a training session on Thursday. Arshdeep was reportedly hit by the ball while trying to stop a powerful strike by Sai Sudarshan on his follow-through. The player's hand has been stitched, and he's unlikely to be fit to play. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'He has stitches on his hand and is likely won't be available for the fourth Test match, the Indian team will see if he is ready for the fifth Test or not,' as per The Indian Express. Meanwhile, there is still uncertainty about Akash Deep's availability due to a groin issue. Akash Deep didn't bowl in a nets session held by the Indian team before heading to Manchester. Also Read | If Rishabh Pant plays as specialist batter, then who will keep wickets for India in the 4th Test? India's assistant coach confirms Arshdeep's injury Arshdeep Singh was not given a chance in the series, but he was in the reckoning to feature in the playing XI of the 4th Test. India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate had said: 'Arshdeep took a ball while he was bowling there, Sai hit a ball, and he tried to stop it, and it's just a cut. So we have to see how bad the cut is. Obviously, the medical team have taken him off to see a doctor, and obviously, if he needs stitches or doesn't need stitches, it's going to be important to our planning for the next few days.' Also Read | Why dilly-dallying around Jasprit Bumrah paints a wrong picture of Team India and the pacer Must-win game for Team India After ending the Lord's Test on a losing note, Team India trails 1-2 in the series. The 4th Test, which will be the penultimate of the series, can bring India back on track and could also hand the hosts an unassailable lead. Hence, it is a must-win game for the visitors, and the need of the hour is for the management to pick the strongest XI. It has been an enthralling affair so far, and one could assert that had India capitalised on some massive moments, then the score line could have hinted at an advantage towards India. Nonetheless, the team still carries the ability to bounce back and will have to come out all guns blazing at Old Trafford on July 23.

Why Harbhajan Singh Pulled Out vs Pakistan & Why Afridi Was Thrown Out From World Championship Of Legends?
Harbhajan Singh has withdrawn from the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL) game against Pakistan slated on Sunday July 20 after facing severe public backlash. Multiple reports suggest he made the decision considering the deteriorating political climate between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. India and Pakistan do not play bilateral cricket, and following the recent attack, there were renewed calls to sever even multi-nation tournament engagements. The deadly incident in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians, led to India launching a counter-offensive military operation named 'Operation Sindoor', targeting terror bases across the border. Suresh Raina too has boycotted the match for the same reason. 'My heart goes out to family members of all those who lost their lives in the dastardly attack. This can't be forgiven,' Harbhajan had written earlier. In light of these developments, public sentiment across India has turned sharply against sporting ties with Pakistan, prompting outrage over the WCL clash. This has likely contributed to Harbhajan Singh's decision to pull out of the fixture. Adding to the controversy, tournament organisers have reportedly decided to exclude Shahid Afridi from the Pakistani squad. Afridi, known for his outspoken political remarks against India, has recently made several inflammatory statements targeting Indian citizens. His exclusion from the WCL is viewed as a precautionary move, given the volatile geopolitical climate. The match comes at a time of heightened military and diplomatic tension between the two nations. Pakistani participation in the WCL was already under scrutiny following the Pahalgam incident and India's Operation Sindoor. However, the anticipated T20 Asia Cup 2025, which is expected to feature both countries, has given the WCL organisers the leeway to allow the fixture to proceed, albeit with adjustments. The World Championship of Legends is a privately-run league sanctioned by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). It features six teams from India, Pakistan, England, West Indies, South Africa, and Australia. The league is co-owned by rapper and entrepreneur Harshit Tomar and Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn. Tomar is listed as the league's CEO, with both owners seen promoting the league jointly. India Champions Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla, Stuart Binny, Varun Aaron, Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Siddarth Kaul, Gurkeerat Maan. Pakistan Champions Sohaib Maqsood, Misbah-ul-Haq, Asif Ali, Sharjeel Khan, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Aamer Yamin, Sohail Tanvir, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, Saeed Ajmal

Mohammed Siraj goes unnoticed while bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra feels that Mohammed Siraj's contributions to the Indian team tend to go unnoticed due to the star power of Jasprit Bumrah and bowling alongside him. Siraj has been the leading wicket-taker in the series with 13 scalps to his name from 6 innings. However, Bumrah continues to be considered as the key man for India in the series as he has 12 wickets from four innings. Chopra, while talking on his YouTube channel, said that Siraj's performances have been impressive in the past, but due to the mode of dismissals and the star power of Bumrah has made everyone forget about his contributions. advertisement"Not all bowlers might be as skillful as Bumrah, and at times, when you are with Bumrah, you aren't noticed despite being skillful. You will look inferior whenever you are with an all-time great. Then people will dismiss you. It would have seemed like that when people were playing with Sachin paaji and Virat." "That does not mean the guy is not good. He is skillful. Sometimes a bowler like Siraj is dependent on others. If you look at Bumrah, he gets a lot of dismissals bowled. Siraj's best wicket-taking method is caught by others. If he doesn't get that help, like Jamie Smith's catch was dropped, the poor guy keeps bowling, but is unable to pick up those many wickets," 'Have to sit back and admire Siraj's workload'Siraj has bowled 109 overs so far in the series, and Chopra doffed his hat to the pacer. The former cricketer also revealed that Siraj is third when it comes to the number of overs bowled since 2023 among pacers. Chopra said that we should sit and admire the workload of Siraj. "If you see Siraj's workload over the last two years (since January 1, 2023), you will have to sit back and admire and appreciate. If you talk about the fast bowlers across the world, he is in the third spot in terms of the number of overs bowled. Pat Cummins (871.3 overs), Mitchell Starc (856.2 overs) and Mohammed Siraj (792.5 overs) are there in that," Chopra said."When we look at it from the Indian point of view, no one has bowled more overs than him. In fact, if we see overall for India, he is in the second spot, only behind Jaddu. Jaddu (990 overs) has bowled nearly 1000 overs, and he has also bowled close to 800. He bowls a lot of overs," he and England will face off in the Manchester Test next, starting from July 23. - EndsTune InMust Watch
