The incident occurred when Lily and her parents were at a shopping mall. While waiting on a bench near the cinema ticket counter, she noticed a bundle of money on the seat. Without hesitation, she handed it to her father, who was astonished by the amount. The family immediately went to Al Rashidiya Police Station to report and return the money.
Rightful owner
Major General Saeed Hamad Al Malik, Director of Al Rashidiya Police Station, revealed that the rightful owner of the cash was coincidentally at the station reporting it missing and was overwhelmed to have the full amount returned.
Police stressed the importance of highlighting such positive examples to inspire honesty and ethical behaviour in others.
